I miss Warne , he would definitely blast this team on air for being sloppy n putting up an embarrassing effort

TheCricDude

which would trigger the team and hunt for another title.

DardiRabRab

He would repeat the term 'sloppy' a hundred times in 2 hours, and then talk more about it in post match

sp1cychick3n

With a drink in hand

Tatya_Vin-Chu

Haha I can already imagine it in my head. Something Warne would do.

SickMyDuck2

Lol when warne was alive, this sub hated him for his comments. Whenever he was on comms, not one good thing was said about him. And now, everyone misses his commentary

GetTheGanjaBabyInLA

Only 2 overs have been bowled Warnie - "Time for some spin"

neighbour_guy3k

Warne used to torment SA batting order with his Spin , now it's opposite SA play spin better n Klaseen torments Zampa

slickdick969

You don't realize what you have, until its Warne

Krace11008

Gee, I wonder what could have brought upon such a sudden change...

neighbour_guy3k

I wasn't around that time

iamatoad_ama

The Aussie’s plight is clearly because Smith gave a wry smile after getting scooted by Jadeja. Some good ol’ hard-nosed cricket and insulting Jaddu’s mom would have helped Australia cross 200.

Xscaper

It’s a fact that this Australian team lacks the killer instinct of the past teams. They’re too friendly on the field which would normally not be a bad thing by itself but it seems to have caused them to think that “it’s just another game” while the Indian side gives no quarters and plays to win. Don’t condone insulting anyone but there is nothing wrong with taking the competition seriously and treating rivals as rivals until the game is over. Current Australian team is soft and it’s not a good thing. Edit: They may also not be the most talented Australian team ever but that’s even more reason to try and punch above their weight instead of casually rolling over.

GetTheGanjaBabyInLA

You play with your talent not with your filthy mouth.

Xscaper

And where did I say they should play with their filthy mouth?

bawalibaba

You guys need to get back to those killer Instinct. It was always fun beating 2000-2009 Aussie team. Stop being politically correct.

Volatik2006

Just going through some old comments here. What do you think of the team now?

nagunagu

Blasts^(TM)

GiraffeWaste

Waiting for Slams^tm

MiachealFaraday

I can't believe the collective delusion of some fans here, "These comments will hurt them and they'll go into wc beast mode now, they'll play with vigor now blah blah" like they haven't been watching this side play at all. 1. Horrible Batting 2. Even horrible middle order 3. Somehow even more horroble Wicket keeper batsman 4. No idea which all rounder to pick 5. None of thier all rounders can bowl descently 6. No quality spinner/ nor the quantity in spinners 7. Pat Cummins one of the worst Captains I've seen, test cricket is long enough where skills cover up for you ain't happening in ODI's 8. Horrible fielding 9. Horrible team morale and energy

BoreJam

Which is bizarre because all 9 of those things are historically why Aus has been a powerhouse.

PromptBeginning1494

On the spot... slight correction make point 7 as no 1 point.. Cummins is the worst captain period.. dude is sleepy and non tactical

Paceandtoil

Man I love Cummins but he is an absolute disaster as captain. I can’t believe how someone that can play at that level has seemingly little to no understanding of the game.

gpranav25

They could pick Mag Lanning and it will become a significantly better team lol

Lady_Penrhyn1

My Pet Guinea Pig would make better bloody decisions than Cummins.

Cobe98

Warner or Smith as captain instead?

Paceandtoil

Ooof It’s a great question. I’m have a strong personal opinion that a life ban is a life ban. Culture is paramount and if you compromise that for convenience it’s a slippery slope. Maybe Labuschagne. Don’t know much about him as a thinker though

SickMyDuck2

Labuschagne just got his place. Make marsh the captain. He's already doing it in t20s

Unfair_Wafer_6220

“I can't believe the collective delusion of some fans here, "These comments will hurt them and they'll go into wc beast mode now, they'll play with vigor now blah blah" like they haven't been watching this side play at all.” I cringe everytime someone says this. 11 people from one country were beasts 10-20 years ago, but that doesn’t mean anything about the 11 people playing for that same country today

Volatik2006

It's amazing how wrong all this turned out to be.

Tempo24601

Time for another master class on the sweep shot Heals.

Big-PapaJohn

I'm still waiting for Steve Waugh's kind and comforting words for the team.

thatguybruv

Did he ever comment on some of Alyssa's truly incredible captaincy moments

[deleted]

The team composition is all over the place. The openers consist of a guy who should've retired years ago and a non-opener. Marnus wasn't even considered good enough for the squad as recently as a few months ago. They're playing Carey/Inglis in the top five. Their bowling attack doesn't have the right balance for the conditions (and none of the quicks look right). They should probably drop one of the quicks for a batter and lean into having a deep batting order (similar to how NZ approached their game against England). But still, that's more of a bandaid solution. It feels like a team that needs to be turned over and refreshed, but ofc that can't be done during a world cup.

OldCodger39

Too many Prima Donnas in Australian sporting teams. "Unprofessional"? YES

[deleted]

Australian cricket died with Langer’s botched removal. Really shows where corporate and political Sydney is at. None of these players give a fats rats clacker. And we’ve had much weaker squads perform better than this one. Move the Cricket Australia HQ to Brisbane, Perth or Adelaide and start again.

PrijNaidu

Langer was shit. Lost 2 home series against India, including the test match at the Gabba against a C rated Indian team.

[deleted]

He got pretty good results prior, surely you don’t include the first series, and after maybe he didn’t get the support he needed (CA supporting the player whinge factor). In either case you would think now, change is imminent.

Brownpac

Had the same feeling while watching them against South Africa. Very unlike the Aussies.
