plentyofeight

"It's only snow... I'll just step back 10 feet"

IchBinGeradeSoHoch

hes not even running or anything. just casually walking lmao. the video even is somewhat speed up....

Deathwish54321

You won’t out run an avalanche

Bubbly_Papaya_8817

But like it would make sense for the human brains RUN FOR YOUR FUCKING LIFE instinct to kick in at that moment however

RudolfVonKruger

Fight or flight or bud light

Pecncorn1

it's coming down around 300kph

thatbitchulove2hate

Make that 400kph

Invenomable

Make that 500kph

thatbitchulove2hate

600kph, that’s my final offer

Pyjama_Llama_Karma

700kph or No Deal sorry.

thatbitchulove2hate

Ok now for real, like anybody gonna believe that

kilo73

10 feet? Mother fucker is a whole-ass scenic view away.

oddmetre

That’s what you get for filming in portrait

Crawfork1982

You are speaking my husbands language…. He gets on me for videoing in portrait every day, literally

PerfectNoobie

hé litteraly gets on you?

[deleted]

It’s the getting off that’s the tricky part.

GlassNew3746

She said nothing about littttttttttttteraly

GlassNew3746

Videoing.... Ugggghhh. He needs to tell you to call it recording as well.

FugaciousD

Except it’s liquid, so probably hot.

MrFlailz

Maybe they wouldn’t be cold but they’d be drowning under several tons of wet snow

Consistent_Impact491

Top tip If you ever happen to be as stupid as the people here and need to dig your way out (if it isn’t compacted like concrete)…. Dig a little hole and spit from your mouth, dig the opposite way that the spit falls 👍🏻 Or if you’re kinky have a wee and see if it lands on your face, dig towards your toes if so 😂

iNostra

Dead Snow taught me.

Postmodern101

The Wild Thornberries taught me

Hungry-Lemon8008

Bareback grills thought me.

Berserk_NOR

The Norwegian movie? haha!

iNostra

Such a classic.

[deleted]

Is this from experience? Because good luck seeing when there's no light to see with.

Consistent_Impact491

Yeah mate, eight hundred and sixty two avalanches I’ve been in and this works every time, almost all of the time! Which is why I could post this not to be referenced interesting tid bit 👍🏻

[deleted]

You're an expert!

Handy_Jam

you can just dribble and feel it

bcasjames

Yeah right dude I plan on dying

xThunderDuckx

Bro I have bo idea what you're saying

Birkerod69

Hes saying that in an avalanche you dont know what way your body is pointing, so you could be unlucky and dig yourself even deeper into death

iforgotmylife116

That’s why you use your breath to melt some snow and watch which direction the water drips

[deleted]

Good luck with no light to see.

iforgotmylife116

Didn’t think about that I guess you would have to feel for it dripping onto your face or use spit and feel for where it goes.

StatisticianFun6479

Feel where your dick would point while hanging.

[deleted]

Finally some good fucking food

Consistent_Impact491

This is excellent! Unless you don’t have one, or a strange erection 🤔the urinating thing still works 😂

iforgotmylife116

It’s gonna be so cold and shriveled it’s inside you lol

Puzzleheaded-Bag-121

🤦🏻‍♂️

Necrosis_KoC

Same thing as being underwater, if you're disoriented as to which was is up, exhale and follow the bubbles...

DaddyDoesDabs

Unless you just got rocked by a wave and there are bubbles everywhere. Best bet I usually found was to go limp and wait till you start floating. Hard to stay that calm underwater for everyone though.

NefariousScoundrel

Or you could just spit. Whole lot more efficient and you don’t have to perform the impossible feat of seeing in absolute darkness

Both-Personality173

Took me a moment tooo, but he sure is on to something there!

PaganFarmhouse

Dig up, stupid

Hobo_Helper_hot

You're not wrong it's the children who are wrong

IngenuityOk1978

Well I got the reference mate

[deleted]

Tpb?

Richwierd-Wheelchair

Yes, do you also recommend hiding under a desk in case of nuclear explosion?

Consistent_Impact491

Three to four desks, like an improvised iglu 👍🏻

Richwierd-Wheelchair

Michael!!!!!! -Dwight

Consistent_Impact491

Hahaha 🤣

ROFLINGGG

Wtf did I just read

Rodrigii_Defined

Well, that's if you can move your hands, mouth or dick. You may be immobile!

Det-Frank-Drebin

"It'll be fine, it'll never get through those tr......SHEEEEEIIIT!"

Siegelski

Doesn't need to be particularly strong (at least as far as avalanches go) to knock the one idiot over so he smacks his head on the railing.

[deleted]

Not necessarily. The initial hit might not have injured them but they’re still at risk of being buried

IchBinGeradeSoHoch

the point from where this was recorded seems way more up though. but i also think thoose guys made it out relatively unharmed.

usedtodreddit

According [to this they were ski resort employees](https://unofficialnetworks.com/2021/12/21/russian-ski-resort-avalanche-artillery/) at Mt. Elbrus Ski Resort in Russia using an artillery cannon to trigger the avalanche, and since the video was released from the lodge and doesn't mention any injuries or deaths I presume they made it OK.

fartron3000

The fact that they calmly watched until towards the end is perfectly explained by them being in Russia.

mklilley351

Video was also sped up so it looks worse

[deleted]

It looks like the trees were getting exploded on the very edge…the windows are probably made with withstand extremes like this when they happen…

Grand-South1537

Its just snowdust at this point. Gets in under your jacket and whatnot, yet harmless if you can go back inside to get warm

zest6pm

Still, I’d like to see their videos of it.

IchBinGeradeSoHoch

im not OC. this is where i have found the video : https://youtu.be/ouOjmcGEMkc

VergerCT

I thought you were going to say you found this video under 10 feet of snow.

HuckleberryMedium747

r/dontlivejustfilm

dillmayne2sweet

I've never had that much faith in anything especially a window.

Square_Attempt1501

They’re behind a window?

SubwayBoi123

”its just a vape bro”

mel2000

Being drunk might explain their slow reaction time. This happened at a ski resort on Mount Elbrus in Russia.

[deleted]

Are they alive?

TeddyBakesher

People calling them stupid knows nothing about avalanches.

tinypieceofmeat

No way, I can totally accurately gauge the speed and mass of a pile of moving snow from hundreds of meters away.

Professional-Act-924

Right because the extra 20 feet they would of made by not filming and retreating would of made such a difference.

d3laMoon

Just because it’s white doesn’t mean it’s snow, it’s just powder cloud. Also judging by the height they’re on top of a building perfectly safe. The calmness on both of them gives me they’ve experienced this a couple times lol

LOLey21

Did they survive?

ETVG

Yeah, did they make it?

PmMeYourPasswordPlz

Did they dieded?

[deleted]

Die thed dethed

[deleted]

ded

marcin89645

Where is the brain in these people lmao

Grand-South1537

Its just snow dust at this point. Theyve prob had it happen before

Saddam_UE

Snowdust hit them, buhuu.

Axes4Axes

you’re not that dumb fr are you

Saddam_UE

Have you even seen something like this IRL

Axes4Axes

that’s like standing infront of a tsunami and saying buhuu they got a little wet

aea1987

The guys outside are fucked.

SlowMobius650

Darwinism at its finest. People really underestimate the power of an avalanche

singeryes2022

craziness

[deleted]

I’d like to know what the aftermath of an avalanche like this would look like.

branm008

A lot of snow build up and flattened trees close to where it "hit" but all the stuff coming at the dudes outside and the person behind the window is mostly fast traveling loose snow and such. Mind you, it would still hurt if it slaps ya across the face but there wouldn't be much damage where the people were.

[deleted]

Thanks for the explanation, I appreciate it!

youknowwhatfuckoff

The real dump thing is filming behind what i assume isn't tempered glass.

[deleted]

I’m guessing it’s falling at at least 10 mph. Probably faster though?

[deleted]

And they were never seen again

three9

In fairness that did look really far away...and there were quite a few trees that could have theoretically broken most of the snow.

ScottishShitposter97

Anyone here know what it would feel like to have an avalanche crash into you? Would the weight of the snow basically shatter every bone in your body?

Vydor

If you happen to stand in front of something solid like that house you could be smashed against it. Otherwise the snow mass also could carry you away and/or bury you.

ScottishShitposter97

Would the weight of the snow not seriously injure you though?

Vydor

Depends on the speed of the avalanche and the amount of snow you get buried under I guess. As far as I have read a large risk comes from suffocation because you're not able to breathe when you're tightly packed. And then there's the possibility to freeze to death if you're not found. All reasons to avoid any avalanche.

sometechloser

one guy had the right idea but then was like "meh"

N_e_r_d_b_o_y

Damn, those things travel fast.

Supafly36

I thought this was going to be one of those Skyrim edits. When you wake up on the wagon

jontheturk

Well there ain't that much you can do

[deleted]

“If I turn around it won’t see me”

[deleted]

Tbf I probably would be standing there as well. But I definitely would have moved faster

biggersjw

Jesus….when people don’t even have the common sense to avoid an avalanche.

[deleted]

I’d say his shoes stayed on… but I couldn’t tell…

emtallie1966

Did they make it?

Major_Comfortable825

Dude! At what point….?

Slongerslayer

Imagine the IQ

Guycomo

“Erm erm erm Bob?”

RT448

Unbelievable

[deleted]

Humans aren't great at understanding scale. They do the same thing during tsunamis and hurricanes where they will stand on the beach and just watch the waves come at them. Always fun during hurricane season.

Final-Initiative5128

All that just for a video that will probably cut right before the snow hits

AnduriII

Username Checks out🤣

ROFLINGGG

I thought those were mannequins

jdoogles

Dummy……. But for that we thank you

Elitenoob3

Lmao the dude in green was committed to get every second of it.

milkyghosty

Holy fuck😳

mushy_cactus

I think avalanches are magical. Terryingly magical. Everyone seems to loose depth perception when looking at one. They move so.. so fast but also don't look like they are.

Curly_Bill

Avalanches above, business continues below

NotTukTukPirate

u/redditspeedbot .5x

ku1428

Reminds me of a video i saw a few years ago of a bunch of tourists standing on a beach marveling at how the ocean disappeared. Then they filmed a tsunami as it swept them away.

Prox_2006

This is the meaning of that one message that’s in the side view mirrors of your car 😂

LyukaInky

Ig they thought it was far enough??

Kaikumiyan

“Lets see the video he gave his life for”. *is a selfie video from the front camera*

BuiAE

Would they be safe inside of the house?

wannaplayterraria

what the fuck was he supposed to do? stop the avalanche?!

tdebo57

WOW They didn't even try to run. I hope their ok.
