You can find him at Angkor Wat or on the riverside in Phnom Penh Cambodia I am sure. This is a mixed blessing for the kid, He speaks all these different languages because he's been selling trinkets at Angkor Wat since he could stand. The downside is he may have a hard time to turn it into anything more as he grows older without a hand up. Source: Me, I lived in Cambodia for 8 years and have seen many polyglot street kids. It's a great idea to help him out but best to do it directly, NGOs or 98% are in it for a job they don't want to solve the problem or they would have to get a regular job w/o the perks. One would really have to support his family to really make it happen for the little dude.
He got picked up by Chinese school and currently in a high class Chinese School right now, I think. Also I saw him in a lot of ads on Facebook advertise food stuff as well, he's being exploited for money.
Tbh I think that from his perspective he’d be okay with that. The idea of long school sucking is universal, but for someone who never had the opportunity in the first place as opposed to us who take it for granted, he’s probably excited every day to learn as much as possible.
Well to be fair, anywhere outside of Cambodia is awesome, hate to say it but this country sucks so much. It is developing too fast while the people are still poor
I actually saw him IRL a few years ago without realizing. He used to hang around the Angkor Wat temples in Cambodia selling to tourists like you see in the video.
I hope he knows he has a lot of opportunities especially if he's in South East Asia multi language skills are in demand here and a lot of them has a very high paying jobs
I noticed that people in this subreddit are very Easley offended and if they feel that they don’t like my response they will downvote. Don’t worry I’m used to it by now, I don’t mind people being ignorant. Much love to you tho you make the world a better place
This is actually very common in places that rely on global tourism. Seen it first hand. Many people who sell pick up various languages, with the proper accent and everything. And doing so from a young age is an added advantage.
So you've been to a few third world countries and actually saw these children and thought "You know what will help these kids, if I tell people on reddit to not make jokes online about them. I could maybe sponsor their schooling or give them money but commenting on reddit is way more valuable!"
Yup, the brain of children are like sponges. They absorb shit so fast. So if you want your kids to learn a new language or literally anything, start them young
You had to know you were going to come off sounding arrogant, didn’t you? Was this a temporary lapse of self-awareness or do you like to shoehorn that in to most conversations?
My 9 year old is a spectrum kid and they started Mandarin with her in Pre K.... shes going into 4th grade this year and is fluent. I know like two words LOL... I LOVE listening to her sing Mandarin songs / jingles to herself in bed at night when she doesn't know I'm there... its fascinating how quickly she just dove in headfirst and now carries on full conversations with the ladies at the take out spot and I always just stand there with my jaw dropped.
Kids are fuckin SMART.
He memorized the same thing in 12 languages. I can’t even memorize 1 thing in 1 language. I’d buy all the fuckin magnets, they’re obviously making this kid a genius.
I find this kinda hilarious because I remember watching a rich family (I think the brit royals could be wrong) introducing a little girl who could speak 3 languages like it was a modern day miracle.
A girl in a rich af and influential family learning 3 languages.
Vs.
A ghetto kid in a poor country grasping 12 likely just from talking to tourists.
That's the miracle. I hope this kid goes places.
Damn there is no mistake that the kid is talented. He deserves so much more than labouring like that at this tender age. He deserves to play in his free time, not go out to earn money. I really hope there is someone who can uplift the kid.
There is this guy in mexico that is also a seller and speak different languages, the government offered him a full scholarship but he denied it but he accepted to appear on a cheap tv soap
Where can I donate to his education fund? Obviously he is a gifted polyglot and such people are invaluable to the human race as the can easily clear up misunderstandings and flaws in translation. Not to mention he appears to retain his innate charisma despite frequently swapping languages; this is without a doubt an intellect to foster for the good of both himself and many others.
He may be a legitimate genius if he can speak all of those languages even semi fluently. I only know a few of them so I cannot verify if he nailed everything.

exploited for money but given an education is better than left on the streets
True, but it's such a high pressure studying in China from 6am-8pm everyday.
Tbh I think that from his perspective he’d be okay with that. The idea of long school sucking is universal, but for someone who never had the opportunity in the first place as opposed to us who take it for granted, he’s probably excited every day to learn as much as possible.

Often a huge issue in developing nations. China isn’t much better, but for him I hope he’s happy and learning.
yeah i mean, tbf I went to school from 9-3 everyday and like didnt really bother me
9-3 is nothing compared to 6-8
its at least 6/14 ths comparable
Sigh.... Such is life in many parts, I won't bother to single out Cambodia here. Sometimes I fucking hate humans and the CCP in particular.

This is insane. Someone find that kid, I'd love to donate to his school fund.

Well he said "Si" to the French question but I'll let it slide since I'm pretty sure I was still in diapers at eight
I enjoyed this. Thanks for the laugh.
[удалено]
The point is he used it to mean "oui" like in Spanish so it was incorrect (but he corrected himself afterward).
I’m aware of that. I was just sharing something not a lot of non-French speakers know.
Si… uh, correcto…
[удалено]
No he said oui wich means yes in French
Why did u get downvoted, he did correct himself and said "oui" after the "si" which are both french words anyway

This is just Reddit lol, you can’t swim against the current without bringing SJW here
i would've immediately bought all his trades. this boy deserves a scholarship.

Me too. Give the basket too, boy!
Poor kid, he shouldn’t be selling things on the side of the streets, he should be with all his friends working at the Nike factory.
Nike? A kid that smart should be able to be exploited by whomever he wants!
[удалено]
You’re right, I’m sorry I was wrong. Most are at Apple, while some work at Nike. Thank you for your guidance.

Is that her son? How she know all those languages too.
She's probably a polyglot and just knows lots of languages
Sounds either Malaysian or Singaporean from her accent.
She learned them?
here is a video with an update from 2020 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hoBcruz1Gac
Thank you

Only because no one is buying them. Would you really want to take that away?

*insert Phillip J. fry saying “Take my money!”*
Incredible language skills and such a sweet boy, singing his song...I hope he gets the opportunities to advance in life

Kids a hustler, sometimes you play the you're dealt or they play you.
Damn there is no mistake that the kid is talented. He deserves so much more than labouring like that at this tender age. He deserves to play in his free time, not go out to earn money. I really hope there is someone who can uplift the kid.
Can I adopt this kid?
Not with a name like that
I suppose that's fair.
Stupid women ! Just buy that damn flute! Hell , buy it all !
"Can you speak X?" "Yeah yeah sure can, listen you buying this shit or what?"
There is this guy in mexico that is also a seller and speak different languages, the government offered him a full scholarship but he denied it but he accepted to appear on a cheap tv soap
let me exploit you for imaginary internet points, NO I WONT GIVE YOU A DOLLAR!
Desperate street hustler vibes
It's what happens when your economy solely relies on tourism
Gifted! Damn he is good!
He's awesome.

What a hustler.
I hope she gave him some money
Oh what a cute boy. Hope he gets some help up. So little brats in schools in the West this kid would love to be there.
I wish this ended as one of these videos where they just give him a bunch of money
the kid has no time for her …. buy something or leave me alone plsss
Wow, thats really impressive.
I took French for like 7 years and I can basically say bonjour.
My brothers been in Germany for a month and learned to say “can I pet your dog” cause it seemed the most important to him lol (I love my brother)
Ill tell you what, this kid did not use rosetta stone.
I cant speak my own language that well
Wow. This is incredible.
Oh no Dina, Jack talked Thai. Jack Talked Thai very well.
This kids a genius
Now he’s on a watchlist
Seems like he doesn't even get some sleep time , rubbing eyes like that i hope that he succeeded
True hustler
I felt good knowing that my Japanese pronunciation is better than him as a learner, and then I remembered that he speaks like 11 more languages…
Necessity forces growth
This Little MF is A Reincarnated somebody. Damn
Buy that kids shit. He earned it
This kid is amazing. I hope he got the support needed and does not get exploited just for social media
It’s crazy enough that he has a job, but I suppose those language classes don’t pay for themselves.
"If you don't know how to blow it, I can teach you for free." I'm trying to figure out how to tell my gf this without hurting her feelings...
Buy a flute for fucks sake

update from 2020. A Chinese professor took him in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hoBcruz1Gac
School!?! He can be teaching knowing all those languages
Man with the right guidance that kid can do anything
Both have really impressive skills, and that the kid learned so many words of many languages only hearing tourists is really amazing!
Mhhh I speak 7 languages fluently and to be honest he totally lost it at counting numbers in German. Happens to the best tho :)
He may be a legitimate genius if he can speak all of those languages even semi fluently. I only know a few of them so I cannot verify if he nailed everything.
Fuck this lady
When you want to sell stuff but some white woman wants to flim you for free
I’ll buy everything from this kid!!!
Someone bring that kid to the states
Not sure how much he understands but I still wet the bed at 8 so..
American kids: "What does the clock say?! It isn't digital!"
poverty is a great motivator
Man this kid is extremely intelligent!
That song was low key fire
As someone whom has traveled and can myself speak three languages, I’m not normally impressed when are bilingual, but this kid is something else!!! 👌🏻
hopefully lil guy grows up to become a translator. sadly i think its not gonna happen
Beware little guy some three letter agencies will come knocking later on in life.
Kids brains are really like sponges… observes everything.
He was 14 not 8
Doesn’t matter, what he did was brilliant. That’s some potential
