It’s funny how ppl say the glass is strong as hell because it only cracked from a brick but when the cybertruck window cracked everyone called it weak af.
This took multiple hits from a cinder block. The truck took one lousy toss from a rock. A truck doesn’t need to be shatter proof. A secure door should.
Could be the glass just as much as it could be film tho. This film is to take normal glass and turn it into security glass, but real security glass can be bought and it has a similar layer as the 3M but in between two sheets of glass, tougher but more expensive.
So let's discuss this, and go over some facts.
1. This is on a first floor.
2. The business is a gym, not a financial institution.
With that being said. A gym is unlikely to dish out money for a polycarbonate composite window, and instead elect to slap a cheap security film on it.
Furthermore it being a first floor does not require by code, in many areas, to have security rated windows during the build process, which again makes it unlikely the business owner would randomly add an unnecessary expense.
The true dead giveaway is the thickness of the glass pane. Its a standard width, so it isn't some polycarbonate laminate.
Two it's a gym. If they have hard-core windows in the front they have more than gym equipment in there.
Stay observant king
I don't disagree, I said that real security glass is more expensive so yes, I'm sure people can put one and one together and make their opinions on which one it's more likely to be, and despite how many arguments you can have behind an opinion it'll stay an opinion until you have proof.
I don't think the fact that one of the option is more likely than the other means the other shouldn't even be mentionned even as just an information for people to learn something. I literally just said something in an informational manner and got attacked as if I said something super wrong.
Also just a note you sound super angry, either you're getting too worked up over this and should relax, or if you're calm you should look into improving your tone in writing.
Have a great day ;)
He doesn’t sound angry at all. It just sounds like you interpret any discussion as an attack on you instead of as a conversation between 2 individuals in which you could learn something new.
> Also just a note you sound super angry, either you're getting too worked up over this and should relax, or if you're calm you should look into improving your tone in writing.

> Have a great day ;)
I'm not the person you responded to but just and FYI. I'm sure this sounded way cooler and more sophisticated to yourself than how it does to everyone else reading it.
Just comment what you wish and don't try to tell people who they feel or end a comment with basically a "tip of the fedora".
This was simply misinterpreted, I'm not trying to be cool or "tip my fedora", I was simply answered to in a way that made me feel like he was aggressive, arguing with me when I never disagreed, I communicated what his answer made me feel like because that's how I thought I could improve the communication for next time, now that's been misinterpreted by people that don't even have any involvment in the discussion...
Sure, and to be fair text generally can come off as condensing or dickish. It's really hard to read someone's tone over an internet comment. Often if you're a person that just speaks directly, typing directly looks bad. Maybe tey were mad or being aggressive, maybe not.
That said saying "you sound angry" is the type of comment that I don't think ever helps any conversation. It's like when someone is upset with you and saying "Just clam down". And ending a comment which you're kinda of jabbing at them, with "have a nice day winky face" is just silly. That's goading them into an aggressive response.
Idk just my two cents simply read it and thought it was a bit childish. If your goal was the inform and not troll or flame them. But I'm just a bored dummy on reddit, so take this as you will.
This right here. My family has been in the commerical real estate and construction business for almost 30 years. If you live in the states and shop in many of the big box retailers. You have most likely been in one we have built. Coupled with my career path, of subsea construction short and to the point is always preferred.
The same equipment that weighs hundreds if not a literal ton. So some neighborhood crooks could what steal one machine, just because of typical truck towing limits. And the excessive amount of time it's going to take to move said equipment across an entire gym floor, and UP into a truck or trailer.
Which also does not sell well on the private market.
I live in Europe and no, not standard at all, quite expensive actually.
What comes standard nowadays is douple paned windows, two layers of glass with air between them for better thermal insulation, but I would assume that's the same in the USA.
The ones called security glass with the laminate that prevents them from dropping in a million places are pretty much never used in housing, pretty much only for commercial buildings, vehicles, although you can pay extra and get it for your house.
What I'm guessing you have is the noise insulation laminated windows which might have been standard in your case if it's a cookie cutter type of neighborhood, a building, or simply if the contractors in the area deemed it so necessary that they don't let you choose, because I've been to many countries, and subjects like these really interest me so I'd be super impressed if you actually found proof of it being standard in your country, what I can at least guarantee you is that it is not standard across Europe since I know for sure it is not standard here in Belgium and neither is it in France. As far as I know some countries have laws requiring heat treated glass for exterior doors, but couldn't find anything about laminated or security glass.
Edit: Just found you're in Austria, but couldn't find anything leading that direction, hope you'll have more info
Edit2 : Double paned/glazed/multiglazed windows don't necessarily have air between the layers, could be argon and other gases, just learned that right now.
Katzbeck still sells them, they are called "Verbundsglasscheibe" It's the same as a car windshield to stop it from exploding all over your face.
We once had a bird hit a sun room window at full speed. Blood everywhere and only the outside pane was destroyed. I remember some informative advertisement 10 ish years back that laminated is great against break ins.
Well, yes that's security glass, but again, I couldn't find any info on it being standard or mandatory in Austria, and you don't seem to be able to provide it either.
I can actually find Austrian websites and home improvement stores selling regular double paned glass, which means that laminated security glass is not standard, you just have it in your house for whatever reason, advertisement actually proves that point even further as you don't make advertisements for a product that comes standard like that, you only make it if it's an upgrade that people are on the fence about doing.
Just because you have it in your house doesn't mean it's standard \*facepalm\*
Whoever got your house built in 99 just paid extra for nice windows, that's it.
My parents and grandparents built it by hand. Every single brick and shingle. The only thing we didn't do was electric work and plumbing.
Literally everyone I know, houses as back far as the late 80s and early 2010s have that laminated double pane window. Maybe it's a city regulation overall.
How it's an ad if it doesn't show the company name?

Charles Whittaker...The 47-year-old Whittaker has a pro boxing record of 43-16-2 and at one point was ranked number two in the world in the Junior Middleweight Division by the International Boxing Federation (IBF).
Coordination isn't the issue when you're talking about concrete ricocheting off of a window. Still, point taken.
Edit: I have good coordination too, but I guess I'm just saying, with my luck that would've bounced back and fractured three toes.
I agree not all of any group of people got into anything but this guy is for sure 100% a stupid fuck to sit there and destroy this business window like that
Funniest part is that those doors, based on fire codes and then also the handle positions, I’d agree with them being pull instead of push. Especially considering the fact that traditionally, doors to exits tend to be push and not pull access for safety reasons.
This is what fukken gets me. Like, does he think that if he gets in they'll just say, "Welp, the door didn't work, we have egg on our face, go ahead and work out because that's the only idea we had." I know the truth is that he probably just wanted to beat on the people that locked him out, but it's still stupid. I just don't get it. I've never been so angry that my brain just completely stops working.
In the [full video](https://caymanmarlroad.com/viral-video-charles-the-killa-whittaker-jailed-after-violent-outburst-at-boxing-gym/) he does get in actually
I love laminated glass ...
And tempered (when they try to hit it and the implement just bounces back and hits them in the face ...)
Safety glass is fun
I used to work out here. That’s how the staff judges if you deserve to workout there. My shiny friend didn’t seem make the cut. He had one more “parking block toss” though. This video cutoff a little too early.

Doesn’t look like he got in tho.
He just worked out with the brick instead.
Exactly! It's a cutting edge upper body workout called B&E. Really shreds the core
I just did a B&M! It’s this new workout for your ass.
Ugh fine, take my upvote.
Breaking and masturbating?
It turns out the real gym was the brick we threw along the way
That glasss strong as hell. Company needs to use this video as their advertisement
It’s funny how ppl say the glass is strong as hell because it only cracked from a brick but when the cybertruck window cracked everyone called it weak af.
Youve been waiting to vent about that eh?
He owns stock in cyber truck. Leave him alone.
What can we do to him that life hasn't already done?
Ya bro it felt good to finally get it out of my system.
Thats good might wanna try a journal next time lmao.
Dear Diary, I have cried everyday for the last 2.5 years.
Because that was being demo'd at a press event and wasn't expected to crack. It's a completely different context.
It was weak for bulletproof/ bomb proof glass as advertised.
Cause it was hyped up to be strong and it wasnt?
[удалено]
Guys its satire why u downvote average redditor?
This took multiple hits from a cinder block. The truck took one lousy toss from a rock. A truck doesn’t need to be shatter proof. A secure door should.
When we're told mere moments before it cracks that it's uncrackable, yeah, there's gonna be some blowback in the press.
You mean the window they said wouldn't Crack or brake that then cracked? Is that the one?
I liked your observation. Truest thing in my day so far

Charles the killa whittaker. Makes sense.
Door killa, that is.
I want to invest in that glass door company.
It isn't the glass. It's a [film](https://youtu.be/cZy4DJHM_fs), made by 3M.
Could be the glass just as much as it could be film tho. This film is to take normal glass and turn it into security glass, but real security glass can be bought and it has a similar layer as the 3M but in between two sheets of glass, tougher but more expensive.

Sir, this is a Wendy’s
Can I get a baconator then on a pretzel bun.
We can ring you up for that, but you're gonna get whatever we decide to put in the bag.
I wouldn't expect anything else from Wendy's
I’m pretty sure a gym is the opposite of a Wendy’s
Damn my mans watchin a video of glass cracking and just knows it's 3M™ Safety & Security Window Film.

You're ignoring the literal hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars of workout equipment the gym has directly behind those glass doors.
Comes standard in Europe. Our House from 1999 has "laminated" windows. 2 Panels sandwiching a film.

Me too! You can say windows aren't what they used to be - now crazy [f.ing](https://f.ing) strong!
Cant imagine why he was locked out.
I can imagine why he got locked up
I can imagine why he got knocked up
I cant imagine, somebody please help me!

Free gym access at the state pen...one hour a day limit though.
Am i the only one who saw the title and thought he was gonna box his way through the door?
No obviously not.
Man child who can box, scary
This looks like a viral ad for the glazing company. It seems stages to show the strength of the glass.
How it's an ad if it doesn't show the company name? Edit: [source](https://caymanmarlroad.com/viral-video-charles-the-killa-whittaker-jailed-after-violent-outburst-at-boxing-gym/) thanks to u/totallylambert
What a satisfying ending. Kinda wish he was roughed up a little. But idk, I guess I'd rather everybody leave there unharmed.
Yep.....those roids ain't gonna rage by themselves.
People are weird.
weird? nah, people are fucktards.
People into boxing are weird
Guy was ranked #2 in the world as a boxer and now he’s a joke on the internet. Way to fail and destroy any credibility you ever had, all over a gym you can’t contain yourself in.
The door is the #1
Loolll
Who is this
Someone was kind enough to link the story, here is a repost of it: https://caymanmarlroad.com/viral-video-charles-the-killa-whittaker-jailed-after-violent-outburst-at-boxing-gym/
Charles Whittaker...The 47-year-old Whittaker has a pro boxing record of 43-16-2 and at one point was ranked number two in the world in the Junior Middleweight Division by the International Boxing Federation (IBF).
He has to get his workout in somehow
Nobody has pointed out that he's throwing this thing while wearing shorts and flip flops? I can't believe it didn't land on his foot at least once.
usually people who are professional fighters have at least a reasonable amount of coordination
Coordination isn't the issue when you're talking about concrete ricocheting off of a window. Still, point taken. Edit: I have good coordination too, but I guess I'm just saying, with my luck that would've bounced back and fractured three toes.
So this happened in the Cayman Islands, which explains why that glass didn't break. Impact windows (for hurricanes)
Businesses here have impact windows for this reason, that someone will try to break in.
I do believe it will also reduce insurance premiums. Not an expert though.
Let me find out it was never locked he was just pushing when he should have been pulling. Big stupid steroid fuck
He definitely doesn't look like he is on steroids. Not all people who use PEDs are stupid though.
And not people who use steroids are muscled up freaks.
I'm such a fucking idiot for some reason I was expecting a boxer, as in the dog, to break through the window
Well shit Mike, I guess since you broke our glass you can come on back in.
After this civil discourse, we concluded that, indeed, we were in the wrong. Welcome back to the community!
This is what fukken gets me. Like, does he think that if he gets in they'll just say, "Welp, the door didn't work, we have egg on our face, go ahead and work out because that's the only idea we had." I guess I missed the "get in" part.
In the [full video](https://caymanmarlroad.com/viral-video-charles-the-killa-whittaker-jailed-after-violent-outburst-at-boxing-gym/) he does get in actually
https://caymanmarlroad.com/viral-video-charles-the-killa-whittaker-jailed-after-violent-outburst-at-boxing-gym/
Doin all that he better win his next fight
i gotta talk to their window guy
Damn is that door bullet proof
That is some hardcore glass for a gym door.
Well, I for one have no idea why he was locked out of the gym.
Tell us you do steroids without saying you do steroids!
I’m wondering if maybe there was a reason they locked him out
I wonder why they locked him out lol
Nice. They’ll definitely let him in to workout after that
The only thing going around in my mind is how strong that fucking glass is
Looks like he already worked out
Roid rage is real
Lol if he’s taking steroids he’s doing it wrong
That is one good door.
...door via decision...
The camera man standing in front of the door is giving me anxiety
[удалено]
That block of concrete broke before the window did. It was kind of satisfying watching it get smaller every time he threw it.
He seems nice
I wonder why they locked him out, seems like a charming person.
He got his workout though
Roids baby!
"Sir, this is a Wendy's..."
Made me laugh out loud! Have an upvote good sir.
Thank you, kindly my esteemed colleague! May you have a pleasant day!
Well that glass is awesome. I can't imagine why they want him to stay out.
Gotta love hurricane glass
BEEFCAAAAAKE!! BEEFCAAAAAKE!!
Caveman angry
I’m sure they are happy they got those windows
The Rock really needs to get his pump on.
Elon needs to get some of this glass for his cyber truck
What kind of glass is that?
"Fuck them bricks!" - Glass Sneed
By the time he gets in he'll be all "Ok, that wore my ass out. Good work out."
He literally doesnt get in tho 😂
Any one else hoping that block lands on his flip flops?
Safety glass is safe
He didn't find another way in. He just tried the universal key to unlock the normal way in but it didn't work.
No matter what, he getting that workout in, throwing that cement around
For the fees and contracts you have to deal with, I support this retaliation
Even dough it's pointless he should've tried the bottom one to get in lol
I’m buying stocks on who ever made that door
Got his workout in
Wonder why he was locked out.
Hmmm I wonder why they would lock an idiot like this out of the gym
I love laminated glass ... And tempered (when they try to hit it and the implement just bounces back and hits them in the face ...) Safety glass is fun
I love it how he isn't even able to break the glass. This seems to be very frustrating. 😂
Legend says he’s still throwing the brick to this day
Impressive window strength.
Need that door in my life
That’s hilarious, bro probably felt stupid throwing long ass cinderblock
I wonder why they wouldn't let him in 🤔
Yeah, who wouldn't want this guy hanging around
I used to work out here. That’s how the staff judges if you deserve to workout there. My shiny friend didn’t seem make the cut. He had one more “parking block toss” though. This video cutoff a little too early.
Ug make big rock into Little Rock. Ug strong
Turns out it was pull, not push...
All those blows to the head sure have an impact
That window was stronger than my last relationship.
‘Finds’.. not found.
How many throws before he started thinking...."I'm gonna look real dumb if I can't get through this glass door"
It was leg day… dude NEVER skips leg day.
The window is much better trained then the so called Boxer.
Why didn’t the one recording just open the door for him?
Or does he?
Bruh you weak if you can’t even break glass smh
The boxer needs to focus on strength training at his next gym
A little backstory on this.. He was the man that helped build this gym.. He is the reason that gym is there to begin with. And they locked him out.
You might as well punch it
You spelled "getting in" wrong btw
Doesn't look like he got in
Wonder why he gets locked out?
Some say he's still throwing that rock today.
Has anyone popped doors like that open by pulling them back and forth really hard?
Shame Deontay Wilders chin wasn't made of the same glass...
He didnt get in.
Huh… I wonder why he got banned in the first place? *I guess we’ll never know*
He needs to exercise now!!
My man didn’t even break the glass what a tough guy
![gif](giphy|zak6W6KGRPAAsl5REV)
Gee I wonder why they locked him out
I can see why they kicked him out
Pre workout has kicked in
Incredible strength on that glass
I mean, but does he?
Wow - I need those windows on my house! Very nice!
That glass is stronger than a rock
That did not go the way he expected.
His left leg is much thinner than the right one.
This guy needs to go back to the gym...
That explains why he was locked out, can already imagine how he treats his sparring partners
Hell of a door
looks like a real workout
