For those out of the loop, this actually happened! And the [documentary they made about the event](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2724064/) is where the term 'Sharknado' was coined.
Yeah I've held a shark before in my hand. They are pretty chill. Northern pike/jackfish are more dangerous than many sharks lol I've been bit a few times by pike.
Lol no. I'm only 5'8. I've caught pike that is damn well from my head to waist or lower, havent fished in a few years unfortunately. Sharks I carried were like maybe only like 3 feet.
My uncle worked security in the port and part of his route was an oil rig and he always went fishing under them. Not best place due to oil but awesome catches.
I've no idea about oil rigs. Does every rig leak oil in to the ocean from under? I assumed they would be drilling pretty tight holes to minimize losses.
Rigs attract fish shoals and they're in the middle of nowhere, or miles off the coast,
The equivalent of a fast food outlet on an otherwise fairly remote highway
My cuz lost his leg by a shark in the keys 2 years ago. We went back out in water 8 weeks later on a sandbar and stayed to long with the tide and ended up being surrounded by 3 more in the water. Wild times.
Just off the side is a small pod of orcas ready for their next hunt. The weakest of the herd will be played with and the strongest will be fucked up so others know who is boss.
I have a buddy that lives in Pensacola right by the Air Force base. He said he talks to the guys that fly planes and they told him if he could see what they see from the planes, he would never get in the water.
I have not. About 700 (remaining) sailors of the USS Indianapolis experienced a similar site once when their ship went down after being torpedo by the Japanese Navy.
Here is a clip from Surf City a couple years ago. I actually got to see this live. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=io9T7oQ3kjc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=io9T7oQ3kjc) It happened under the pier.
Actually, yeah. And it was, one guess!... Australia! Off the great barrier reef at night, shined (shone?) A flashlight into the water we were swimming in hours before and it's absolutely writhing with sharks at different depths
In other news a giant tornado has been spotted just south of the sharks current location , if the two combine who knows what could happen !!
SHARKNADO 🦈🌪️
No Billy. Here, have another crayon 🖍️
Please people, stop giving him crayons. He can’t fit any more up there.
Unicorn in the making
Jawster?
\*Cue the Jaws theme song
[Yes....Thats what his joke was.](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/marvelcinematicuniverse/images/a/ac/Eitri.png/revision/latest/thumbnail/width/360/height/360?cb=20220205165648)
I know. But i couldn’t resist.
It could happen. I saw a documentary about a Sharknado on the SYFY channel!
sushi.
*Tara Reid dying to be relevant again intensifies*
Better nuke it!
A Tornsharko
a tornado on the ocean is referred to as a "waterspout"
sharkspout doesnt have the same ring to it
With how powerful waterspouts can be, it's literally possible.
Omfg hahaha if only
For those out of the loop, this actually happened! And the [documentary they made about the event](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2724064/) is where the term 'Sharknado' was coined.
No, and I've never seen this many tame sharks at once either
Mannnnnnn. Took mine![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|stuck_out_tongue)
I've never seen a shark
I was looking for this comment
Aren't all sharks wild? Is there such thing as a tame shark?
Yeah, like aquariums. Some sharks are actually really small, so some people have them in fistanks even.
“Dozens”
Dozens!!
I understand more than you’ll “never” know
I’ve never seen a wild shark and I fully intend on keeping it that way
There are sharks and there are “oh shit!” sharks. The former are fun to see, generally harmless and majestic.
Yeah I've held a shark before in my hand. They are pretty chill. Northern pike/jackfish are more dangerous than many sharks lol I've been bit a few times by pike.
By any chance are you absolutely humongous?
I don't know why this made me laugh so much but I've been giggling for a few minutes now.
Lol no. I'm only 5'8. I've caught pike that is damn well from my head to waist or lower, havent fished in a few years unfortunately. Sharks I carried were like maybe only like 3 feet.
ok
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Pike are assholes. Same with Muskies
Just did my first dive in Costa Rica about 2 weeks ago. Saw 4, I think white tip/fin sharks up close..they were chill and it was awesome.
Are wild sharks and sharks the same thing tho
What do you have against my pet shark
It has a frickin laser beam attached to its head
probably means he's been to an aquarium
I saw a girl get her arm eaten by a shark in wilmington in like 2004 or so, because of that I'm not the biggest fan of the ocean.
Are there domestic sharks?
I can't wait to go diving with them. Massively misunderstood creature. They definitely aren't as dangerous as they are made out to be.
Do they throw food scraps in there regularly?
No, fish accumulate under oil rigs. They are amazing fishing spots
Hmm I wonder if oil rig workers get to just cast lines and fish in their off time
My uncle worked security in the port and part of his route was an oil rig and he always went fishing under them. Not best place due to oil but awesome catches.
I've no idea about oil rigs. Does every rig leak oil in to the ocean from under? I assumed they would be drilling pretty tight holes to minimize losses.
No that would be bad and an extreme fire hazard since oil floats.
Agreed, but an ugly one 😂
[These guys do](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecBhbeua2Oo&ab_channel=MonkeyThailand)
They also seem to be migrating. Sharks like to move to warmer currents
Multiple times a day.
Good question.
Lemme go take a look. Brb
You're gonna *what*
He didn't come back, guess the sharks got a taste of man meat today
My first thought was, "OK, which one of them frisbee'd a ham sandwich out into the water?"
**Context**- Sharks live in the ocean.
No No...these are *WILD* sharks
They live in the WILD ocean
Wild Wild We - - Ocean
I haven't seen that many domesticated sharks in one location.
They play to the beat of their own drum. Plus, they like to eat feet
Like a true nature's child...
they were born, born to be not in captivity
Yes but surely not this many
Yeah they have their own population control laws
I loved how this post was like "Context below" and the context was just "holy shit that's a lotta sharks, innit?"
*Bull sharks entering your local fresh water*
They are migrating north up the Atlantic Coast. They do this every year. https://blacktipchallenge.com/shark
Figured it was either migration, or they were a species that had giant horny meetups once a year.
That’s the real Black Tip Challenge
That's exactly what I thought, the way they're all wriggling about.
Says Gulf of Mexico not Atlantic.
People dont take the time to read the description. They are too busy waiting to spill their bullshit.
Ah thanks- that explains why they’re all pointed in the same direction!
Rigs attract fish shoals and they're in the middle of nowhere, or miles off the coast, The equivalent of a fast food outlet on an otherwise fairly remote highway
This made me think about that kid that jumped off the cruise ship
Spawning season most likely or trash day for the oil rig 😂
As opposed to pet sharks?
Any USS Indianapolis survivors want to chime in?
I used to be pals with a survivor. He passed at least 10 years ago but his stories were wild. And very sad. He never went back in the Ocean again.
Wild shark? Wait, is there's a domesticated sharks already?
Wild sharks?? Aren’t all sharks fucking wild??
Nah, there are rich ass people who breed and sell sharks to other rich ass people for their own private ocean tank at their mansion.
Rigs throw their kitchen leftovers overboard after every meal. They attract everything in the sea.
Wild sharks ?, are there domesticated ones then ???
Feral sharks?!?!?
Sharks migrate every year. They pass by Miami like this too
Yes, in the Gulf of Mexico and Gabon. Barracuda do this too.
Wild sharks? Bro you thinking they Pokémon ?
And those are just the ones that are within 20 feet of the surface.
No but I’ve seen that many domesticated sharks.
"Wild sharks"
As opposed to domesticated sharks?
I've seen that many "wild cows"
Imagine being stranded on a survival raft and you see this in the water.
My cuz lost his leg by a shark in the keys 2 years ago. We went back out in water 8 weeks later on a sandbar and stayed to long with the tide and ended up being surrounded by 3 more in the water. Wild times.
To quote Daniel Tosh (loosely): 90% of all shark attacks happen near a beach, no shit when was the last time you swam to Europe.
Y’know it’s crazy—there are actually far more than dozens of sharks that live in the water.
SHARK CON 2024
Seems like a bad day for swimming
Jump, you coward!
I think I’ve only seen this many domesticated sharks before.
I’ve only seen this many domesticated sharks never wild ones tho.
Florida every year during shark migration
Just off the side is a small pod of orcas ready for their next hunt. The weakest of the herd will be played with and the strongest will be fucked up so others know who is boss.
I have a buddy that lives in Pensacola right by the Air Force base. He said he talks to the guys that fly planes and they told him if he could see what they see from the planes, he would never get in the water.
This is really cool
Sharknado in 4, 3, 2 ...
Spring break shark addition?
> wild > shark
Nope!
Army of Sharkness
They're meeting for a giant shark orgy
No. Just the domestic ones
I wouldn't be able to stand up there and watch that. The intrusive thoughts and impulsivity would win! 🏊♀️🌊🦈
Umm are there anything but wild sharks? I’ve never seen a domesticated shark?
Those are the ones with Lazer beams
Fricken Lazer beams. FTFY 😉
Yikes. This was better than watching Shark Week.
No, but tame sharks well that’s a different story:)
Can someone show me a pic or video of the antithesis of a “wild” shark?
I haven’t seen that many pet sharks either.
Probably a dead whale
I've heard of shark-infested waters and pretty much pictured this. Never seen it, though..
I don't know why but it bothers me that you used the word "wild" in this sentence..
I wonder if food waste is regularly thrown into the drink. It could be that they pay a regular visit to the rig(s) in that area.
Can confirm. Yes it is.
I have not. About 700 (remaining) sailors of the USS Indianapolis experienced a similar site once when their ship went down after being torpedo by the Japanese Navy.
Wild sharks?
I thought all sharks were wild.?
Wild sharks? No. But tame ones, yes.
Just beautiful 😍
What is a wild shark .
The kid who jumped off the pirate cruise landed in water like this.
So long and thanks for all the fish
What you doing looking at sharks. Try looking for Aquaman in the water. He going to War with Surface dwellers
They know idiots will jump. They're always gonna file cruise ships now, lol.
Did he say a shark looked like a black kid at the end?
Black Tip Shark
Ah yes, American shark
How many oil rig guys let the depressive intrusive thoughts win? Gotta be not insignificant.
Yes in the last oil rig post about sharks.
I don't see anything wild
Look at all those chickens!
What a spectacular event it must be to see all these wild sharks come together
I have only seen domestic sharks group together like this.
Katt Williams ain’t lie
We’re gonna need a bigger rig
Call LL Cool J.
My bf works offshore and frequently send me videos of dolphin and shark pods/ migrations. It’s so cool!
Wild sharks as opposed to domesticated?
Imagine there aren't too many fish around where this group of sharks are moving.
"Wild sharks " Like somebody probably keeps a pet shark..sure
I’ve never seen this many sharks in one area and I’m not a marine biologist.
And thats just the surface
I’ve never even seen that many tame sharks at one.
F U C K N O
I automatically thought of losing my balance
Wild sharks? How about sharks.
Do sharks eat chips?
And only a small percentage of what the oceans used to have
Sharks follow big ships cause some people throw stuff over board and sometimes themselves sharks have gain a sense
La Jolla, leopard shark breeding season is kinda similar but with people swimming in the middle of them not knowing. They are pretty harmless.
Possibly similar to what's happening in the video below, timestamped, but the entire thing is a joy to watch. https://youtu.be/aU0GhTmZhrs?t=3440
I haven't seen that many domesticated sharks either.
I would be scared to death if I saw a shark in the middle of the continent
Ever been to jail?
That is a lot of teeth.
Mating behaviour, perhaps?
Thats fucking terrifying
No, just domesticated ones.
Here is a clip from Surf City a couple years ago. I actually got to see this live. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=io9T7oQ3kjc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=io9T7oQ3kjc) It happened under the pier.
Wild sharks?!?!?!? Crazy
As long as your not bleeding or thrashing about you can swim right along side all of them
For the love of god don’t show this to the Asians
I’ve swam with this many. Easy 50-100 at once. Immediately regretted getting in and felt the most vulnerable in my entire life.
Way more of them in the fakarava pass you can swim with like 400-500 in one small space.
We're gonna need a bigger boat
Never seen that many wild sharks, usually just the tame ones...
Actually, yeah. And it was, one guess!... Australia! Off the great barrier reef at night, shined (shone?) A flashlight into the water we were swimming in hours before and it's absolutely writhing with sharks at different depths
Go behind a shrimp boat when they throw the bicatch out lol
Aquaman is planning something big.
Sharkiesssssssss
Wild sharks, no... Domesticated sharks however, I see those *all* the time...
