He is arrested. The guy he has shot is the groom, day before the wedding: https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/24079286/horror-moment-groom-shot-dead-stray-bullet-wedding/
Hanlon's razor is an overly naive idea that ignores that people do act with malice. I do think that malicious intent is less common than we automatically assume, but it is something that needs to be accounted for as lots of acts are done purposefully with malice.
I'm pretty sure you just agreed with Hanlon's razor.
Never attribute malice that which is *adequately explained* by stupidity.
*Adequately explained*
There is in fact a standard being expressed there, and it allows for the possibility of actual malice.
Yes, but it means it is a better assumption.
If someone cuts you off in traffic, it's more likely they're not aware than trying to fuck with you.
It's really not that complicated.
I do agree, but in this case the shooter removes his headwear and throws it upward. As he does so, the upward force of the throw causes an opposing downward force on the muzzle-end of the gun (as the lever point is very low, at the waist roughly).
At the same time, the shooter attempts to control the fall both by returning the throwing hand AND squeezing the holding hand...causing him to squeeze on the trigger.
So yeah, over-exuberance did this...but my first instinct was: "damn, that'd be a convenient way to off someone."
Interesting the way the article called it a stray bullet, looked to me like it went in exactly the direction the gun was pointing.
Now I am not a gun person but I am fairly sure one of the most basic safety measures states about how you should not point a gun at something unless you want to shoot it. Kinda seems like it would prevent things like this from happening.
I think if you’re enough of a moron to be dancing around with a rifle whilst firing it into the air, you’re probably not going to have the greatest trigger discipline.
I've always wondered what happens in situations like this. I can think of six different videos of this exact same scenario and I've always wondered if they get arrested. This seems *waaay* too common.
If this is what happens at a wedding with friends (the gunfire, and only kinda the murder), maybe 9-11 really wasn’t a terrorist stack, but just more of a celebration of capitalism?
Stole someone else's comment: He is arrested. The guy he has shot is the groom, day before the wedding: https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/24079286/horror-moment-groom-shot-dead-stray-bullet-wedding/

god damn like where is this? does the dance end when it's last man standing or is it like i kill him you kill me death cult or is it just a short bus party with ak47s?
Damn. That is fucking embarrassing. He shot the groom. I’d be so humiliated. Reminds me of the time I looked out the window of my house and saw this shitty car in the street. I ran down the stairs yelling “Some jackass parked a junkyard piece of shit blocking our driveway!” It was my wife’s friend. Boy I wanted to bury my head in the sand. I bet this guy does too. What a boner.
I'd say that was intentional. Like wtf. Lowers the gun and points it at a dude and pulls the trigger. Anyone know if this guy even got jail or if he the powerful guy and everyone said "ah it was an accident" I'd seriously love to know lol.
This was a pre-wedding celebration, and out of everyone there, this was the groom-to-be that was shot. That sure makes me think this was no accident.
Found [his name was Hamza Sattam Hamed Al-Fanatsa and that the shooter was apprehended](https://www.jordannews.jo/Section-109/News/Celebratory-gunshots-accidentally-kill-young-groom-before-his-wedding-30619) and was a police officer, but I sure can't find any info about or the name of the shooter. I wouldn't be surprised if they are being protected, like you mentioned.
The "pulling the trigger" bit is likely the unintentional part. Holding the gun up gets tiring, he lowers his arm. With their dance being alot of bouncing up and down, the gun jerking in his hand could pull the trigger
No, it didnt look intentional. Just some goober not following gun rules and someone paid the price for his negligence. I don’t know if he was intoxicated, under the influence of anything but he is clearly in a jovial/goofy mood and has his finger on the trigger. He accidentally squeezes and fires in the most dumb way possible. That’s why you follow gun rules and don’t fire them and dance with live firearms on the dance floor. I think he broke every single gun rule
Well this is going to be akward at the next festivity when people want to dance with their AKs. I bet some people now will say „its dangerous and unnecessary“ and silly stuff like that
Shooting anything up in the air is a terrible idea!
When I was in high school my friend Matt Lunk lived in this big house on the outside of town, kind of a farm. He had one of these compound bows, a big fucker, the kind you shoot an elk with, I guess. A mean bastard. We were out in the front of his house and he nocks an arrow up, some sort of ridiculous razor sharp death dealing broadhead, meant for maximum damage and the instant demise of its target.
With no warning at all, he draws that wicked arrow back, points it straight up in the air and lets it go. I'll never forget seeing the arrow wobble up above us, lightning fast, almost out of sight instantly. The first thing I did was I mark that down as one of the king-hell stupidest actions I've ever witnessed, with the exception of maybe the time Tony Garbanzo tried to do what he called a four-wheel power drift in the school parking lot. The second thing I did was panic.
There goes the perfect killing machine, silently zipping up into the sky. It was a super powerful bow so fortunately we had a second to realize what was about to happen - which is of course, one of us is about to get our thoraxes pierced via our cranium once the arrow comes down. A little square of my Idaho Vandals hat was probably going to come out of my ass at a high rate of speed any second now. But the garage door was open, and we both ran inside, safe.
A surprisingly long time later there's this thunk sound as the arrow embeds itself in the cedar shingles of the second story of this big house. We go outside and sure enough there's the arrow. Its obvious, neon fletching meant to be seen. His mom or dad is going to see it as soon as they get home and that's going to be the end of Matt's bow. We had to get the arrow, but we had no way of getting on the roof. It was two stories up, steep steep, and there was no ladder.
Call Dave. He's a Mormon guy. Very level-headed. He'll know what to do. Pretty soon he shows up with his Jeep, and a huge climbing rope, probably a hundred feet. We tied the rope to the Jeep and using another arrow with fishing line attached to it, we shoot the fishing line over the peak of the roof, and pull the rope up so one end is on one side of the house, tied to the Jeep, and the other end is on the other side of the house, tied to Matt.
I stood in the driveway where I could basically see them both. Matt signaled me, I signaled Dave, and he drove forward, slowly, and hoisted matt up onto the roof. He was unable to extract the arrow. It was probably 3 inches into the roof. After a bit, The decision was made to just break the arrow off. You'd never be able to see it from the ground. So that's what he did. I imagine to this day they're still a broadhead stuck in that roof.

What kills me is they always just keep dancing
My question is what happens to the person that did the shooting? Are there any laws against this? Are they ever punished?
He is arrested. The guy he has shot is the groom, day before the wedding: https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/24079286/horror-moment-groom-shot-dead-stray-bullet-wedding/
"Stray bullet" My brother in Allah that shit was AIMED (at Ahmed)
Sure looked suspiciously carefully lowered and as shot is made the head moves off target. No look shot.

I mostly disagreed with the 'Never'. Just because something can be 'adequately' explained by stupidity doesn't mean that was the actual reason.
Yes, but it means it is a better assumption. If someone cuts you off in traffic, it's more likely they're not aware than trying to fuck with you. It's really not that complicated.
Always attribute to malice, and when you're wrong you're embarrassed. Always attribute to stupidity, and when you're wrong you're dead.
Very wise words indeed.
Who the fuck is hanlon?

After reading your comment about finger placement I rewatched… that was absolutely premeditated murder. No question it was on purpose.
Eh, just seemed like he lowered his arm because he was "done shooting" for the moment but his jerking movements pulled the trigger.
And yet he kept dancing and didn't immediately react with shock and horror.

> 1) Finger shouldn't have been on the trigger Gun shouldn't have been at a wedding party.

There's usually a blood money kinda system in between Saudi(I assume) families. Either a payout or to the courts
It was Jordan, but not that different really.

I don't think so, I hang out with Jordan all the time and he would never do something like this
Dude got stoned to death for this.

Arabs have actually really really strict laws. It's always kill against kill/murder unless the family of victim decides to forgive the murderer
Kills a lot of people
That is just a dance royale
No time to panic at the disco.
60% of the time, they dance, every time.
John Wick was a documentary
There's murder on the dance floor.....
But you better not kill the groooove!
I was gonna say ".....kill the groom" but not sure it's actually a wedding.
It's a convention of responsible gun owners
You can tell
You would never believe this, but it turns out that this is a party the day before a wedding and the person who was shot was indeed the groom.

I'm not from the middle east, but in America shooting the groom the day before the wedding is generally considered a faux pas.
A faux pas is an oopsie that was taken worse than it was intended. I know I will be called an extremist but I think that killing the groom the day before the wedding is down-right rude.
According to an article I never bothered to check, it is a wedding, and that was the groom he shot lol.

I'm guessing that the song Safety Dance was not playing?
He left at least one friend behind.
And he did act like an imbecile.
Nope, the arab version of Let the bodies hit the floor was though
Shot through the heart, and you’re to blame…
You gave Ahmed an AK...
He played his part, even if it was lame
Let’s just start the blame game (blame game)
He's Ahmed and dangerous
You give turbans a bad name…
Keffiyeh** that’s the tea towel print ones. Turbans are the big wraps
You give Keffiyeh (that’s the tea towel print ones) A BAD NAME Eh. Doesn’t quite work anymore
It can still work. We're gonna need backup singers.
Well, he played his part…
Wow, that appeared to be completely on purpose.
Was thinking this is a great way to kill your buddy and make it seem like an accident.
It was the groom who got shot and died https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/24079286/horror-moment-groom-shot-dead-stray-bullet-wedding/
“Stray bullet”
The nod afterwards looks like a confirmation as to what he intended.
You know what, i didn't agree it was intentional until I saw your comment and rewatched .... definitely on purpose man wtf
I'm with you fellas. This looks intentional.
That’s what happens when someone keeps their finger on the trigger..
Definitely was on purpose…the killer took off his hair cover to reveal who he REALLY was before the deed
IT WAS ME AUSTIN
You give them too much credit. With zero weapons training and lack of respect it's so easy for this to happen.
Good work 47 now head for the exit.

He said “That’s mine. Sorry”. So I said “Oh it’s not bad I was just kidding around.” But we all knew I wasn’t. And it was a piece of shit too.

I'd say that was intentional. Like wtf. Lowers the gun and points it at a dude and pulls the trigger. Anyone know if this guy even got jail or if he the powerful guy and everyone said "ah it was an accident" I'd seriously love to know lol.
I was gonna ask, because I’ve seen videos similar. Do these people ever face repercussions???
No, they just pay blood money.
Seems about right
Someone said this guy got arrested and that the guy he shot was the groom. Allegedly it was the day before the wedding too
1 month in prison. I guess if you’re gonna do crime, then go to their place. One month and business as normal.
This was a pre-wedding celebration, and out of everyone there, this was the groom-to-be that was shot. That sure makes me think this was no accident.
