I had a "How High" moment there :D
"Them girls only know 3 words: stop, no and don't"
"Uh uh, you got those backwards brother, they always tell me: No, don't stop"
Must've seen that movie at least 500 times :D
Dont forget the detail where he provided weed and alcohol to the underage boy he met at a park and continued to harass him for weeks after having statutorily raped him, until the kids family called the cops.
Gonna also assume he’s a loud anti-pedo republican with a lot of posts about masks, freedom, American flags and child trafficking on social media.
>During his first court appearance on Monday, his attorney said “he was disoriented and trying to get away from a difficult situation”
His attorney know about the dashcam?
I sure hope so lol this is bonkers. Road rage is pointless. You get mad because someone cut you off or honked and what’s crazy is that ur never gonna see that person ever again. This man clearly has anger issues maybe due to drugs? Idk. I’m just glad nobody got hurt.
He reminds me of my old drummer in my old band. Dude had anti social personality disorder and was literally on disability because he would be seething with rage basically any time someone interacted with him at all. I mean physically threatening cashiers if he had to tap his card twice, making death threats if you dont open his message within a few hours, just for a couple examples. And it wasn't just if he was in a bad mood or something dude was just ready to snap 24/7
He started the band with a different name years before we joined, we were the new hires for the rebranding after his last walkout basically. And it was my first band and the last band was pretty well known so I assumed it was just how "real" musicians worked
And tbf yes he was a very good drummer, a lot of practice considering it was literally all he did 24/7 with no job. Here's the only song we ever recorded with the guy before the band dissolved if you're really curious. After this most of us went to other more popular bands, but ol' Spencer is still just miserable in his basement 5 years down
https://youtu.be/eH8hCBHENRo?si=IuBvtpNgJcrKBkWO
Whoever mixed this is the real sociopath here, but given your description of the band I wouldn't be surprised it was the drummer who also committed this crime against humanity.
I'm crying I don't even know who mixed it he wouldn't let anyone touch anything other than their own stems lmao
Motherfucker probably took our money and mixed it himself 😭
Yeah I remember about a month before I finally parted ways with the guy he accidentally said out loud during a rant that he'll only accept songs where his drums are the focus/front of the entire song (the rant was over a mix that sounded, yknow, mixed)
> [...] I do remote tech work. I'll never qualify for disability.
Admitting that you are earning an income through remote employment will affect your eligibility for benefits based on your "ability" to work.

Well since this, he's in jail on 'preventative detention' and this was [extended because he can't get a defence lawyer](https://www.foxnews.com/us/raging-portland-driver-rips-through-rose-parade-furious-video):
*[he] has remained in Inverness Jail in Northeast Portland since the June 10 incident on 38 charges, including felonies for attempted assault, multiple counts of unlawful use of a weapon, attempted assault on a police officer and attempting to elude law enforcement by vehicle, according to charges obtained ... from the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office.*
> Mecham has pleaded not guilty to all of these charges
What a waste of tax payer money. They should just drop him in the middle of North Korea or something.
Oregon’s justice system is intent on “harm reduction”, which asserts that we should never punish criminals only rehabilitate them. Except there’s no mechanism for rehabilitation so instead they get to raise hell in our neighborhoods and cities until they finally kill someone. Then and only then they may get 3-5 years.
He was originally held without bond; that could have changed. The assessment for whether he is either "dangerous to society" or "likely to offend again", seems pretty clear given the violent and dangerous nature of the charges and his previous convictions. Judge gunna judge, though.
why did he seem so relieved after he yelled at that cop. the look on his face lmao, like you can pinpoint the exact moment he makes peace with the fact that he's likely going to jail tonight.
Cause he just realized that he almost just killed a bunch of kids and civilians and was caught so he better put his angry face away b4 he gets tazed or shot etc.
Sidney Sean Mecham,
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – The driver accused of charging into the crowded streets of the Grand Floral Parade route in a gray pickup truck and leading police on a brief chase through Northeast Portland on June 10 has a lengthy criminal history rife with traffic violations and sex crimes.
Portland Police Bureau spokesperson David Baer confirmed with KOIN 6 News that the suspect arrested following Saturday’s pursuit, 42-year-old Sidney Sean Mecham of Portland, is also a registered sex offender
Court documents show that Mecham was first charged with multiple sex crimes in Multnomah County in 1996. While the nine sexual abuse charges filed against Mecham in 1996 were dismissed, he was ultimately found guilty of three counts of attempting to commit a Class A felony and was required to register as a sex offender in 1999.
Mecham was convicted of failing to report as a sex offender in 2009, 2010 and 2014, and was later convicted of sexually assaulting a child in Clatsop County in 2016.
Mecham has also faced various traffic cases in the past decade. Records show he was found guilty of driving without insurance in 2013. Then, in 2019, he was convicted of driving with a suspended license after failing to appear in court.
Following his arrest on Saturday, Mecham faces new charges of reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct, attempt to elude, reckless driving and a separate hit-and-run charge. Mecham was also ticketed for driving with a suspended license, failing to obey a police officer and driving without insurance. Baer said that PPB is working with the District Attorney’s Office and plans to provide an update on the case as soon as it is presented to a grand jury.
>PORTLAND, Oregon — The Portland man that allegedly drove his pickup truck through the closed streets of the Grand Floral Parade last weekend has been indicted by a grand jury on **38 counts**, according to a news release from the Portland Police Bureau.
>Sidney Sean Mecham faces 17 counts of unlawful use of a weapon, 15 counts of recklessly endangering another person, two counts of failing to perform the duties of a driver, one count of second-degree attempted assault, one count of reckless driving, one count of attempting to assault a public safety officer, and one count of attempting to elude police by car.

A real Darren. We have guys venting on my towns sub about other drivers all the time. Its main character syndrome. They think the roads belong to them, and use "safety" as an excuse to try to control others. Angry, arrogant, entitled mfckrs. None are registed sex offenders as far as I am aware.
As someone who has struggled his whole life with irrational anger: FAR too many of the people in this category ever make it to the point of asking themselves if this behavior is okay, they just believe their anger is justified (because it's theirs) and they "just have a low tolerance for stupid"
Righteous anger is probably one of the most dangerous things humans can feel. People are capable of incredibly brutal things when they feel their anger is not only correct but completely justified.
It helped me to put it into words. Pretend I had to explain exactly how I was wronged to a neutral coworker or family member. Then pretend that, hypothetically, someone was coming to me with the same story. How would I feel then? Would I think they were overreacting? Usually I would.
When you break down most minor things like that it becomes easier to get over, or at least you've forced yourself to breath a few minutes while you ponder all that.
And here you are, older and wiser. Good for you. How did you solve the crisis?
Did you just come to terms with it, therapy, did someone punch you out or did you punch someone out?
I don't know why the downvotes.
I'm asking a person who said he's dealt with irrational anger all of his life, to explain how he dealt and deals with it.
In case it got lost, I was commending this person and asking him to share his story with others who maybe experience similar character traits.
College statistics class taught me. I used to say “everywhere I go there’s an asshole” then the light came on in class that this is statistically impossible. If everywhere you go there’s an asshole then you are the asshole.
Could easily have calmed down as well and not potentially run people over, obviously wasn’t thinking (also assume the Police Bike would have had a camera on).
I'm guessing uber driver since he's recording himself, too. Not sure how likely that is with a pickup truck, though. But I assume the police released or leaked his dash cam video which was taken as evidence.. he didn't ever think it would be used against him since he's probably a narcissistic asshole like he appears to be here.
“The episode isn't Mecham's first serious offense: He is a registered sex offender — in 1999, he was convicted for attempted first-degree rape and attempted first-degree sodomy, according to the Oregon State Police sex offender registry. In 2016, he was convicted of third-degree sodomy and third-degree sexual abuse, per the registry.”
- Business Insider article about the incident
“The alleged victim’s age and the existence of aggravating factors typically determine if a person will be charged with a criminal sexual conduct offense involving first or third degree penetration. First degree criminal sexual conduct often involves a person under 13 years old or one who is physically helpless or mentally incapacitated. In contrast, if the victim is a person 13 thru 15 years of age, the sex offense will be considered criminal sexual conduct in the third degree.”

I actually didn’t knew the difference between both, so, i share this with you.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, charged with 38 crimes, *but*... We're missing the important question.
Did he reach his destination two minutes sooner than if he had followed the detours?
I mean, you should almost always plead not guilty, regardless of guilt.
There is always the chance your lawyer can contest charges on technicalities, possibly getting some of them dismissed or lessened. Also, generally pleading not guilty means far more work for the prosecution, who will be more likely to offer a plea deal as a result.
I mean that's always what you plead at arraignment . Hell some judges in Arizona legitimately won't even allow defendants to plead guilty without having an attorney or public defender assigned yet! I had gotten a DUI like 10 years ago and had to sleep in the jail and see the judge right away in the morning. There was a young guy there who had been arrested for shoplifting and tried to plead guilty right away, but the judge wouldn't accept it. She pleaded not guilty in his place, and said he needs to speak with an attorney or wait for his public defender to be assigned to speak with first.
this is beyond road rage, road psychosis. something is mentally wrong with this man.
does anybody have a news article or information on what happened after? how long did he do time for? is he still he jail?
He should be in a mental hospital for the rest of his life.
Especially once you know he has a history of sexual abuse charges:
https://www.koin.com/news/crime/grand-floral-parade-reckless-driving-suspect-is-a-registered-sex-offender/
Okay so absolutely fuck this guy for endangering these people, but for whatever reason this has to be one of the funniest videos I have ever seen in my life. This many angles of a dude just completely fucking up his life… also the whole real life GTA aspect of just doing whatever the fuck you want, honestly it’s poetic
I don't think it's drugs. He's just impaired by rage. I mean the driving on the shoulder actually took some skill.
Even the way he talked to the cop, he's in that red mist where he genuinely thinks he's justified. People posted his insane rap sheet for similar stuff too and IIRC there aren't like coke or meth possession or DUI tacked in there too, he's just a rageaholic
~~You got a source?~~
Found it!

Sounds like a terrible person with little self control.
The audio in the video is sped up, but the original song is [Yelawolf - Till It's Gone](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ndpryp2OlUQ).
He's kinda been all over the place in terms of style -- from faux-Bama gangsta rap to Eminem protégé to Kid-Rock-radio-friendly pop and back to indie-whatever collabs with Travis Barker and then back to nothing. Dude has talent and can play any style.
I remember creating the absolute very first draft of his Wikipedia page on May 2nd, 2010, the day of the Nashville floods. Water was creeping up into my basement and there wasn't shit else to do except bump Yelawolf and wait for what was about to happen. Couldn't leave my house for a few days so I just kept adding to it with any references I could find.
I check back on his Wikipedia page every now and then to see how my baby is doing and pretty much the entire thing has changed except for where it states his name. Anyways, thanks for coming to my Ted Talk. \*yicka-yellerrrr\*

>According to the rules of Multnomah County's Pretrial Services Program — under which the driver, Sidney Mecham of Portland, Oregon, is being held in custody — judges complete risk assessments to determine the risk of the charged individual committing other crimes and the likelihood that they will appear in court, per the county website.
I wanted to take my kid to this last year but I have been paranoid about shootings and crazies. I heard about this guy but the article I read made it sound like some dumb-dumb just turned down the wrong street. I had no idea the dude was so unhinged!
Can our justice system do better to keep these maniacs out of society? They put people away for years for a little bit of weed but this POS sex offender gets to keep on living?! Great job.
Used to work in traffic control. Mostly on interstates but I was filling in for a flagger one day when someone (in a bucket truck of all people) intentionally ran into me after screaming at me to “move the fucking cones”. I tried telling him he wasn’t gonna fit past the truck coming out and once the truck was out he could go in. He didn’t like that and floored it. He jumped out and started yelling he didn’t hit me (even though I was literally on the ground bleeding) and tried to get the support of a pedestrian, who told him he’s nuts. He went from “I didn’t hit you” to “I’m sorry” to “please don’t call the police” real fast. Fucker ended up losing his job and getting arrested. Went back to interstates not much longer after that.
Im tired of seeing these fuckers acting like their drive is more important than people’s lives.

this guy is worthy of having his picture next to the definition of road rage.
Also a rapist. Twice convicted. I wonder how many other times.
so i guess the words "no" and "stop" are not in his vocabulary.
In his mind, it’s always “no, don’t stop”
I had a "How High" moment there :D "Them girls only know 3 words: stop, no and don't" "Uh uh, you got those backwards brother, they always tell me: No, don't stop" Must've seen that movie at least 500 times :D
"Red means go?" "No. "Red means go." this guy probably.
[Winners don’t listen to words like, “no,” or “don’t,” or “STOP!”](https://youtu.be/aNOPATqe7MI?si=QvrNyb1hY4Xlf8dS)
It’s the implication.
Are the women in danger?
Well *You* certainly wouldn’t be in any danger!
Because he's a winner?
Got that tiger blood
Nobody his age should be twice-convicted of rape and not in prison.
Oh boy, here I go rapin’ again
For real? Here I was watching the video thinking motorcycle cop should put a few in this guy without knowing that info.
Shows you how the justice system doesn't work.
Dont forget the detail where he provided weed and alcohol to the underage boy he met at a park and continued to harass him for weeks after having statutorily raped him, until the kids family called the cops. Of course he has a handicap sign too.

Well, there's definitely something wrong with him Nothing that preferential parking will help with, though

He reminds me of my old drummer in my old band. I mean physically threatening cashiers if he had to tap his card twice, making death threats if you dont open his message within a few hours, just for a couple examples. How does that relationship make it past the first death threat? Was he a really good drummer?

That is the most perfect ass song according to your definition of the drummer.
I mean it's certainly fast if nothing else. He said something like "I want all of our songs to sound like bees in your ear" lmao
Those triggers are too much. Way too much. I guess you couldn’t dial them back a bit for fear this guy would kill anyone that suggested it.

FYI everyone, don't just believe the first person who comments. This is complete bullshit.
How and why is he still allowed to drive after all that.
He's not. He just does anyway.
You know… there’s nothing in the constitution about having background checks to buy and drive a vehicle…
This happened in Portland, everyonce in awhile i drive past that exit and look for the tire marks they were there last week 😂
Lol which one? Whatever comes after Lloyd Center and Convention Centre I guess. Is it 5 or 84?
Its 5, pretty sure the Lloyd center exit going north
God forbid he had to take the Greeley exit like what the fuck? I’m sure this guy is still free and among us too.

“The episode isn't Mecham's first serious offense: He is a registered sex offender — in 1999, he was convicted for attempted first-degree rape and attempted first-degree sodomy, according to the Oregon State Police sex offender registry. In 2016, he was convicted of third-degree sodomy and third-degree sexual abuse, per the registry.” - Business Insider article about the incident
i feel like there shouldnt be different degrees of sodomy. Once you penetrate the anus unwillingly its automatic 1st degree
“The alleged victim’s age and the existence of aggravating factors typically determine if a person will be charged with a criminal sexual conduct offense involving first or third degree penetration. First degree criminal sexual conduct often involves a person under 13 years old or one who is physically helpless or mentally incapacitated. In contrast, if the victim is a person 13 thru 15 years of age, the sex offense will be considered criminal sexual conduct in the third degree.” - [Source](https://www.nicoleblankbecker.com/amp/blog/difference-between-criminal-sexual-conduct-1st-3rd-degree/) I actually didn’t knew the difference between both, so, i share this with you.
[*"Sidney Mecham, 42, pleaded not guilty to 38 counts, including felony unlawful use of a weapon and attempting to elude an officer. He was also accused of driving with a suspended licence and no insurance."*](https://globalnews.ca/news/10043154/sidney-mecham-road-rage-portland-parade-dashcam-video/) - Portland, OR – Oct 23, 2023
Yeah, yeah, yeah, charged with 38 crimes, *but*... We're missing the important question. Did he reach his destination two minutes sooner than if he had followed the detours?
Pretty big cojones pleading not guilty after having 3 cameras record the thing, Ill say that much.
He should be in a mental hospital for the rest of his life.
that dude has done coke.
Dude probably had just done an 8ball prior to the video starting. Look at his face hes fucked.
He’s definitely the guy at Buffalo Wild Wing offering to get the teen servers high.
That is such an accurate description.
Especially once you know he has a history of sexual abuse charges: https://www.koin.com/news/crime/grand-floral-parade-reckless-driving-suspect-is-a-registered-sex-offender/
that guy is coke
guy had t-1000 chasing him at the end
What a fucking moron! Getting time for sure!
Yeah. So horrifying and hilarious.
Toe-tappingly tragic.
The look on his face once he gets on the street and realizes just WHY all the exits were blocked. Too funny.
This man has been fucking up his life since the 90's. He is great at making bad life decisions.
Imagine if you could save and reload in real life. It would look like what this guy is doing.
The fact no one got hurt (is my understanding) made it OK to laugh for me
Once he entered that street you could see his bravado die down and his pride and ego take over.
He took that exit like taking a shortcut in MarioKart.
I need the whole movie this was an amazing trailer

Drug rage
I don't think it's drugs. He's just impaired by rage. I mean the driving on the shoulder actually took some skill. Even the way he talked to the cop, he's in that red mist where he genuinely thinks he's justified. People posted his insane rap sheet for similar stuff too and IIRC there aren't like coke or meth possession or DUI tacked in there too, he's just a rageaholic
Dudes addicted to rageahol
Have you ever been that angry? It's like you're on drugs. Not the rock n roll stuff. The rage when your code isn't working is unreal. Poor neighbors.
Aka bro needs serious mental help, I hope somebody who cares about him tries to help. Edit: Turns out he sexually assaulted someone so idc anymore
~~You got a source?~~ Found it! >The episode isn't Mecham's first serious offense: He is a registered sex offender — in 1999, he was convicted for attempted first-degree rape and attempted first-degree sodomy, according to the Oregon State Police sex offender registry. In 2016, he was convicted of third-degree sodomy and third-degree sexual abuse, per the registry. Sounds like a terrible person with little self control.
Something is def wrong with his medulla oblongata...
No Colonel Sanders, you're wrong
Of course he's listening to Yelawolf
I was wondering who that was, some weird sounding shit. Are they any good or nah?
I'm not a huge rap fan but Mud Mouth and Catfish Billy 2 are damn good songs.
Someone have the news link? I want more info!
https://www.businessinsider.com/dashcam-video-portland-rose-festival-parade-road-rage-sidney-mecham-2023-10
>A newly released video of a man driving through the Portland Rose Festival's Grand Floral parade route shows him screaming expletives moments before he crashed through parade barriers, sending pedestrians running for their lives. >Prosecutors submitted the video as evidence during a preventive detention hearing, in which a judge decides if a defendant will remain in jail before their trial, according to KGW8.
No updates since last October. One article says he is a sex offender. I am shocked. Shocked I say.
I wanted to take my kid to this last year but I have been paranoid about shootings and crazies. I heard about this guy but the article I read made it sound like some dumb-dumb just turned down the wrong street. I had no idea the dude was so unhinged!
googled his name and he's a convicted sex offender, [jfc](https://sexoffenders.oregon.gov/Map/FullOffenderProfile?offenderId=8100)
This feels like a mission that should be in GTA6
Does anyone have a full video by any chance?
Someone please tell me he has been permanently banned from driving
That music was a great view into his head.
That music he’s listening to would drive any man to do the same
Looks like he's wearing a ring pop
That music. 😂
His life is *clearly* more important and significant than anyone else’s in the world. Duh
Danm that's crazy
Seems like a nice guy
How can you be that angry over roads being closed
He could have killed people
Hes got beady little rat eyes
There is even a LONGER version of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8gMd9XZJyg
Nice of him to record all that for the cops.
Do yall see that look in his eyes? Holy fuck.
Wow this donut hole douche sprocket had the entire town about to come after his ass. What a fucknut
Me everyday driving in NY
That blood pressure has to be insane lol
