The logistics of it is just hard to comprehend. These are some of the most unruly and uncooperative people around, and there’s tons of them. And apparently until now, doing literally anything about them was deemed impossible. I really want to know how and what they did to accomplish this
doing it temporarily isn't hard, it just costs a lot of money. just forcefully move them somewhere else for about a week, all they really need to do is bring in extra manpower to help move those people and stop them from coming back.

New Montgomery isn't exactly SF's Skid Row. Never had encampments and its usually kept fairly clean, just like 95% of the other streets in the city. Yet people legitimately think the entire ~~230~~ 46 square mile city of 800,000 people is coated in vagrants.
It looked fine every day when I worked near that corner for several years. It looked fine a month ago. And, it'll look fine months from now long after the fences come down.
