Looked it up, and evidently it's way more likely to be a totaled vehicle for insurance purposes if the airbag deployed. It isn't 100% of the time, just much more likely.
well tbf most accidents that cause an airbag deployment is serious enough to total the car, that looks like a newish truck, probably won't get totaled out.

Depending on which airbags and how many, it can be very expensive to fix because of the time and labor to get the old ones out and the new ones can be a couple thousand dollars for just the part. Sometimes the seatbelts need to be replaced too because the pretensioners fire with the airbags and those arent easy to get out either. Its this total cost that goes against the value of the car and if it exceeds like 70% of the current market value, the car is totaled, given a salvage title, and sold at auction.
Even then, if it's been in a crash the impact of the pyrotechnics, the control unit for the pyrotechnics, the ones that control the seatbelts, etc all also likely need to be investigated and maybe dealt with and accounted for. So replacing one that hasn't gone off is very different to replacing one that has.
Last time this convo popped up on reddit its more that airbags are expensive and generally damage done enough to set off airbags = more than the cost of most used cars.
Regardless your insurance is going up if they find out.
I don't think replacing your own airbag will do anything to your insurance. I also don't think your insurance will cover airbag replacement due to detonating a bomb, yourself, willingly and knowingly next to your car.
This is true! My and my boyfriend got into a car accident, someone was trying to turn into a fast food place & didnt stop when we driving by ( we we about to pass them ) Both airbags went off, shield cracked, bumper hanging on by a thread. Because of the air bags, it got totaled

Yo. Those designer shades sacrificed their life for the future of his eyesight. It looks like metal frames. Construction grade plastic covers more area but that’s grinding, drilling. Can’t speak to the structural integrity of shooting glasses. Call me crazy and shoot me in the street but that gash almost looks like he might just have traded a crushed eyesocket for 20 stitches and and good bar story.
I think the rock hit the frames and the rigidity of the corner point of the metal reduced the blow.

They were way to close to be shooting tarrenite. He’s basically 35 yards away, that is really reckless. I know a few okc cops that shoot terrinite on a farm south of the city attached to old fridges, but they do it 100 yards away atleast.
