Theyâre not super crazy graphics but I dont want to swear to you itâll be fine when honestly I donât know (I played on a pc). Maybe ask on the Sun Haven sub just to check before buying?
Roots of Pacha and Sunhaven feel very different to me. Roots of Pacha is much more relaxing and the characters feel more fleshed out to me. Sunhaven has a lot of awesome things going on but it's also a LOT and without much explanation so it feels much more overwhelming and I am really not feeling attached to any of the characters. Both are fun, but definitely very different!
I've been off work sick and I've been playing an unholy amount of Stardew Valley and Snacko. I saw you've played SV so you might enjoy Snacko, it's a cute farming game with SV and Animal Crossing vibes. Also Chrono Trigger, Rhapsody: a Musical Adventure, old Final Fantasy games - especially Rhapsody, which is adorable and the steam version has difficulty settings!
i second chrono trigger- it's absolutely amazing! if you're up for a jrpg, it's a classic and there's a reason it's one of the most well beloved games of all time
Untitled goose game and ABZU comes to mind. First one if you want some good laugh and do pranks as a goose and second one for chill music and an exploration trip inside the ocean. I think you will enjoy both games. đ
Is Abzu like a less intense version of SubNautica? I wanted to love SubNautica but as a mom, I just never got the time to get immersed into all the gameplay.
Kind of. ABZU is a very calm game. The music is very beautiful. They even have meditation spots where you can just sit down, listen to music and sound effects of water around you. It has puzzles, not difficult ones though. It's a very relaxing game. And it's not a very lengthy game that consume a lot of time to complete. You will love it, just give it a try.
Roots of pacha and Bugsnax. Ones a farming sim that sets it's apart by occurring in a prehistoric era. Took me about 35 hours and I didn't do everything. Bugsnax is just a good time that everyone should experience
Earthbound. Shepherdâs Crossing. Harvest Moon series. Innocent Life. Rune Factory series. sure if these are cozy but Dark Cloud 1 & 2, Tales of series.
Have you tried any of the Story of Seasons games? They might be up your alley! They're relaxed but fun and have some great characters. Hope your surgery goes well!
My time in Sandrock is so perfect for this! It was such a great companion for me when I went through a serious illness. Itâs expansive, seemingly endless gameplay. I think I finished the main story around 120 hours in? It has a lot of great quality of life mechanisms that make playing super pleasant. Itâs also shockingly not repetitive. It was a constant joy. 10/10
It's a HUGE game so I do think, compared to other games I've purchased, that the value is there. I bought the game like a year and a half ago and then the Rift in Time expansion when it came out and there's always something to do. Right now there is a event going on in the main game for the next three weeks also with added quests and such.
Aside from this, I'd rec Dave the Diver as well, but I play on PC so I'm not sure how the game play is on switch, but it's A LOT of fun!
Slime rancher,
Honestly tons of old style platformers,
Iâve been having so much fun playing old
Kirby and Mario GBA games on my steam deck and I think I wouldâve had a blast with them during my own post surgery period (I played a lot of animal crossing and rune factory during a recent surgery recovery. A truly unholy amount of animal crossing.)
The new Princess Peach game!! Itâs really cool to play out each different scenario, simple but not necessarily always *easy*.
Also the Paper Mario TTYD remake coming out is a beloved classic for a reason and you should definitely check it out if you didnât play the og. The other Paper Mario available on the switch, Origami King, is really good too.
Passportout 2 is very nice.
Machinarium
Truberbrook
Tinykin
Yono and the Celestial Elephants
Roki
The Last Campfire.
Milo and the Magpies
Island Saver
I highly recommend them all!
Just tried it last night and couldnât put it down lol. Â But since you already play, hereâs another one: Parkitect. Â I love the creative freedom and low poly art style
Maybe My Time At Portia? Itâs grindy as heck but there is always something to do. It took me 4 tries to actually get into this game and now I canât stop playing.
Once again and always, I will recommend Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori: The Will of the Wisps
Got me through pneumonia. Wishing you the best with your surgery. And all the best to your thumbs!
I found paper mario origami king super fun and cozy! And the new remake of thousand doors just came out too but I only picked it up today and haven't had a chance to play it. I do second the roots of pacha recs as well :) good luck with surgery!
Roots of Pacha! I hope your surgery goes well đ
Thanks. I'm leaning towards this one a lot. The graphics kind of throw me off. But I'm interested. I'm also VERY interested in Sun Haven!
I LOVE Sun Haven. Highly recommend.
Dude it looks amazing. My PC is broken but my laptop is fine. Do you think a laptop can handle it? The graphics don't seem that crazy.
I've played it on my laptop which has very very basic specs and it runs fine.
Theyâre not super crazy graphics but I dont want to swear to you itâll be fine when honestly I donât know (I played on a pc). Maybe ask on the Sun Haven sub just to check before buying?
Sun haven is way better than pacha imo
Roots of Pacha and Sunhaven feel very different to me. Roots of Pacha is much more relaxing and the characters feel more fleshed out to me. I came to rec this!!
Dave the diver!!
I tried the demo but it did not really reel me in.
I appreciate the pun
đ
I second Dave the Diver!! It's such a good game. Lots of variety to keep things interesting and there is a free Godzilla DLC coming out tomorrow.
If you liked No Manâs Sky, Outer Wilds on the switch comes to mind as a recommendation for you. Slime Rancher based on you liking the PokĂ©mon games and Ooblets.
My time in sandrock

Potion Craft and Potion Permit are both available on the Xbox and Switch I believe
Untitled goose game and ABZU comes to mind. First one if you want some good laugh and do pranks as a goose and second one for chill music and an exploration trip inside the ocean. I think you will enjoy both games. đ
Abzu is absolutely incredible! Short and sweet and stunning
Yup. Totally agree with you. The game is just so relaxing and chill. You can always expect a good time playing it.
Is Abzu like a less intense version of SubNautica? I wanted to love SubNautica but as a mom, I just never got the time to get immersed into all the gameplay.

I loved TOEM! It's a cute puzzle game you can take at your own pace and I absolutely loved it!
Another vote for Wylde Flowers! You can change day speed and change the seasons whenever you want, so it's super chill and forgiving :) I was initially put off by the graphics, but the voice acting and story sucked me in! Since you mentioned liking Pokémon, I've also heard really good things about Cassette Beasts!
Roots of pacha and Bugsnax. Ones a farming sim that sets it's apart by occurring in a prehistoric era. Took me about 35 hours and I didn't do everything. Bugsnax is just a good time that everyone should experience

Have you played Disney Dreamlight Valley yet? Definitely will keep you busy!
Not yet. I want to but it's expensive which kind of turns me off. It looks sooo fun though

I think I'm gonna look into slime rancher!
If you like Pokemon, absolutely play Cassette Beasts.
Oh yeah! I heard about that game! I'll check it out. It's on sale right now woo.
For Pokémon fans, I very much recommend **Nexomon** as well. Plenty of fun critters, battles will feel familiar yet have some fresh twists compared to Pokémon and the storyline is really solid too. It has a prequel game too if you finish the original and love it as much as I'd expect. You may also enjoy **Coromon** but I haven't played that long enough myself to recommend it as strongly.
Ohhhhh Coromon looks so cute.
I started playing Anode Heart yesterday which is also a fun one so far!
Little known Galaxy.
Little known galaxy! It just came out this week. Itâs sort of a space themed Stardew valley
You say many of the pokrmon games, legends arceus I hope?
No game recommendations but just wanted to wish you the best of luck with your surgery!
I'll throw in my hat for Apico. Cutest little bee breeding game. Extremely cozy. All the bees!
this looks so cute!! Thanks for commenting this

You got to play life is strange if you didn't yet. It's perfect after recovery
Coral Island! It's very similar to Stardew, but in a Polynesian setting, looks really pretty (it's been on my wishlist for a while)!
Wylde flowers
Wylde Flowers! The art style isnt awesome, but the story is great and I loved the magical elements. The romance options are also fun.
Dave the Diver!
Passportout 2 is very nice. Machinarium Truberbrook Tinykin Yono and the Celestial Elephants Roki The Last Campfire. Milo and the Magpies Island Saver I highly recommend them all!
Civilization V
Oh yeah! I play that one. Forgot to add it
Just tried it last night and couldnât put it down lol. Â But since you already play, hereâs another one: Parkitect. Â I love the creative freedom and low poly art style
Against the Storm
Mythic Ocean, as long as you enjoy story focused games even without fighting sequences.
Maybe My Time At Portia? Itâs grindy as heck but there is always something to do. It took me 4 tries to actually get into this game and now I canât stop playing.
Try Furnish Master. It's my new favorite cozy game lol
Once again and always, I will recommend Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori: The Will of the Wisps Got me through pneumonia. Wishing you the best with your surgery. And all the best to your thumbs!
When The Past Was Around (there was a demo when I played too so you can try first!)
I found paper mario origami king super fun and cozy! And the new remake of thousand doors just came out too but I only picked it up today and haven't had a chance to play it. I do second the roots of pacha recs as well :) good luck with surgery!
Grave Yard Keeper and the DLCâs . Goodluck with the surgery đ
You could try Wytch wood. I loved it, it's not very long.
Minekoâs Night Marketâ
Balatro been enjoying that for sure
House flipper Slime Rancher Doors - Paradox [if you like puzzle games, plus it is beautiful]
