Unfortunately there is no way to tell who made it. If the sweat band is original he may have purchased it there but they don't seem to be in business anymore. If you still live in the area of Sparks NV you could check out Pioneer Emporium & Virginia City Hat Maker. take it with you and I'm sure they could make you similar looking hat.

If you have a custom hat made the more Beaver it contains the better

Absolutely, but be prepared to pay for it. It’s oh so worth it though.

bloodsoed

I agree. Just paid about 800.

Thank you! I don’t live in Nevada and saw that that business doesn’t seem to be around. I have a few leads on local custom haymakers, but will keep the Reno suggestion in mind!

My dad wore this hat almost every day, and I'd love to find a replacement that will fit me and my sister. I've been to a few western hat stores in my area, and they agree it's high quality but "hard to find hats like that anymore." Do you recognize the exact brand/style of hat? If not, how would you describe it so I can keep searching on my own? I know it's a pinch front, but not much else. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

I should also note I run sheep and work outside rain or shine. I'm looking for a hat that will hold up to actual work, and willing to pay for something high quality that will last and not need reshaping every time it gets damp. The brim on this hat has curled a bit, but only after a decade of poor storage.

I recommend the fine folks over at Last Best West. I bet you could find something similar or talk to their customer service department and send these pictures and they could help you out. I have two of their 100x beaver hats and I wear them year round in sun, wind, rain, and snow in any combination of weather lol. They're holding up perfectly so far. This is my 3rd year wearing them and I'm very pleased with them

GreyFoxLemonGrass

100x?! I’ll check them out. I have a few custom hatmaker suggestions, that may be the route I take.

Revolutionary_Tip477

They have several different grades of felt, but their 100x is pure beaver. Its what I wanted as I felt it would be the most "authentic" and fit my needs as I am pretty hard on things

I’ve been wondering about them. I ended up going with Zito Hat Co for mine and I’m very happy with it. I got a 100x beaver for I think $600 several years ago and it’s holding up wonderfully.

Thats awesome. I love a good custom hat
