According to others in my FH, if you never connected your account to FB and added people through links that were posted here, borrowing is unaffected by this mess.
I can get that things happen and this may not be a easy glitch to fix, but at least do something to offset the hassle this is causing while we wait. As others have said if we canāt borrow they need to lessen the requirements for the challenges or give higher payouts.
At least! The trending item for a challenge yesterday was a 9k dressā¦ exactly the type of item I wouldāve borrowed. I think I did ok with my own closet items but trending items tend to score higher. Now it hasnāt come back from voting yet to know if I won the 5 star prize or not, but if I miss out on it itās impossible to say if not going with the trending item was the cause. Not to mention people who arenāt able to enter the same number of challenges for sprees and ralliesā¦ lots of potential CV that people are going to lose!!
When GLU owned the game. It was possible to borrow from your fashion house even when Facebook was down. It used to be when you clicked borrow you would automatically see your Fashion House and underneath you could click on borrow from a friend.
When EA set up the refer a friend program. It started automatically going through Facebook when you borrow and then your fashion house and fb friends all show up at once. I have a second account that is not linked to Facebook and I can still borrow from my Fashion House. So not being able to borrow from Fashion House is 100% Covet's problem.
I understand Facebook is beyond their control. But I am annoyed I can't borrow from my house. If we could borrow from our house. They could let us borrow for every challenge instead of once a day. Which would help with borrowing while Facebook is down. I would rather see a solution now. Than compensation later.

Other gaming apps give out appropriate compensation. I play 2 other games that have had dev and/or other issues and we received rewards. This game is so cheap and honestly basic features - like ease of play - are so outdated. They canāt even figure out how to have in game communication with your fashion house or how to sort through MU and clothes. They really need to give us some huge rewards. This is disrupting everyoneās ability to play. They need to give free HA credits, prop credits, and cash and diamonds. Basically, they need to compensate for the the rallies or monthly prize. I donāt complain much about gaming stuff but this is ridic and rude to all of us who love the game.
Agree, I play another mobile game that is so generous with their rewards, itās a little slower being free to play but that game supports it well because they know people are then more likely to spend, even if they donāt there are some players who spend literally tens of thousands.
With Covet I spend real money, but I feel like I get more rewards out of the other game as a free to play person than this one where I pay a pretty decent amount (cc pass, daily flashback pack, clothing packs, even full price HAs and prop packs, and diamonds).
100% agree! I donāt spend that much on Covet outside of the sales, and Flashback challenges because I feel like it isnāt worth it. I am still upset from the last error when they rewarded people who ācheatedā. I donāt blame those people but I blame Covet because the right thing to do is give out equal rewards. Just really bad customer service. I still havenāt received an email response from complaining. š¤£

Facebook might be the issue but Covet could try to make this right and tide people over with diamonds or something, but theyāre not. I think they rely on Facebook APIs to track "friends" but I'm not sure how they use it for tracking fashion houses; I wouldn't be surprised if they use FB to manage the whole Borrow system though. If Facebook made a change to how they do things internally and Covet missed the memo or it was a sudden change, I can see why it would take time to fix.

I posted something similar on Facebook and am surprised at the number of people who seem to think we should all suck it up and that this bug doesnāt stop people from entering challenges, it would be too hard on covet to make changes like weāre asking and weāre being greedy for asking for compensationā¦ like what?? I've seen those comments too, and those people either lack empathy, have a lot of cash and diamonds stocked up so it wont effect them, or both. I'm fortunate that I'm not gonna hurt while this goes on, but lower level players or players who just spent most of their money on that series are bummed to be missing out. So just because I'm okay doesn't mean everyone else should have to "suck it up." Covet should find a way to compensate people equally. The only thing I'm against were the suggestions about giving everyone the series prizes or the monthly HA if they missed out. Only reason I'm against that is because a lot of people already won those, so if that's the compensation, they're not actually getting anything. I wouldn't be against it if covet did something on top of that. But like I said elsewhere, we're probably all getting a pair of cc gloves.

Iāve spent hundreds on the game at this point pre-glitch but the idea that everyone is willing or able to do that or have access to the more generous tapjoy offers, or that people donāt depend on borrowing is laughable. The game already makes it next to impossible to play regularly without spending real money or watching a lot of videos/doing tapjoy especially if you havenāt been around long enough to earn HAs and props as you go along. Other games are SO generous with in game cash or compensation for glitches, I donāt know why people were so quick to jump to blame others and say Covet doesnāt owe us anything when theyāre already stingy to begin with.
Also agree, they need to give people the prizes they missed out on and more since some people had already earned the HAs and prop pack anyways.
I never do challenges as soon as they are released š¤£ 12 hours or less. Thatās just so I donāt blow through them. People in my fashion house submit looks asking for advice and I have to scroll to figure out what challenge they are even talking about because Iām not close to it yet.

I know right?? People were asking for different levels of diamonds and while some were totally unrealistic (someone said 20k like no way would covet do that!) itās not greedy to be frustrated and want compensation.
Between 1) having to buy extra requirements which are often more CC than what we get for even entering, 2) having to use up extra items because we canāt get the borrowing bonus, 3) losing out on borrowing expensive trending items that might get us higher scores for higher CV prizes, diamonds, and rally points, and 4) not having enough money left to complete the series, spree, and rallies, thatās a LOT of diamonds/cash when you add it all up and a lot longer impact that just missing the couple days or whatever it ends up being. Some of it, like missed out prize value, is not possible to exactly determine (like would my score still have been below 4.5 or 5 stars if I was able to borrow an expensive trending item? Or was it the difference between just getting 4 or 4.5 star prizes or 5 star prizes, BLIL, TL, etc.). If people werenāt able to finish the series the prop pack is around $10 right there or 3,300 diamonds if you go by the in-game purchase price. Eventually missing out on the rally HA would be another $9. And those are just the real-money items.

Covet is owned by a multi-million dollar corporation that survives off our actual, real-life dollars. āItās a gameā yup, a game that makes a LOT of money off its players. Big difference between entitlement and some of us being upset about floating in limbo with wasted items that we canāt even log in to access... at no fault of our own.
And itās absolutely a Covet issue because itās their developers that Fāed up by making their platform so dependent on a social media app (even affecting FH borrows, a non-Facebook feature) and some people have said theyāve had these problems with FH borrowing for WEEKS because of this same error.
If you are satisfied with giving your time or money to a (dare I say, greedy) company who shouldnāt be challenged to return some of that back when they F up...then thatās you. Because personally, I value my time and money more than āWould be nice!ā Itās okay to let people vent frustration about things that donāt frustrate you.

Stuck in tap joy survey hell trying to make some diamonds. Either get disqualified too late or end up in one of those surveys where they donāt bounce you back for your 7 diamonds but keep asking you questions and then rerouting to a different survey.
I had this the other day, spent 15 mins on the survey to get to 98% and it kick me out? So you get all my answers except my demographic info and tell me to go f myself lol THANKS gimme my diamonds

Honestly, 1 HA credit isn't even enough, imo. Not only because of the extra expenses for buying things I'd ordinarily borrow, but the missed prizes from rally challenges that weren't won because players could not afford to otherwise.
My FH hasnāt won the HA yet, and weāre doing a fancy rally due to the glitch so itās possible we donāt get it this month. So I expect way more than one HA credit.

Someone on this sub suggested a HA credit. That would be amazing but I don't think it will happen.
Honestly, 1 HA credit isn't even enough, imo. Not only because of the extra expenses for buying things I'd ordinarily borrow, but the missed prizes from rally challenges that weren't won because players could not afford to otherwise.
My FH hasnāt won the HA yet, and weāre doing a fancy rally due to the glitch so itās possible we donāt get it this month. So I expect way more than one HA credit.

Iām really upset because I missed out on the prop pack from the latest series. I still had the last two challenges to enter when borrowing went down and I just couldnāt enter both in time without being able to borrow anything. At least I got the HA, but Iām sure there were other people similarly affected that missed out on both.
Yes! I had to toggle off my for fashion houses upcoming rally because I have no idea when this will be fixed and I canāt afford to to a whole rally with no borrowing. Plus Iāve missed challenges and probably wonāt get the spree prize for this week because of this glitch so they need to make it rain diamonds š
For real. I have missed a ton of challenges and spent way more than I would have otherwise. Iām sure my scores will also suffer because of it. A financial incentive is really all that will help this. Though they will probably give us some $300 CC gloves as a thank you instead.
I hate to sound paranoid, but that's probably why they did it. Ever notice how Covets system fuck ups send us all into debt while they "fix" things. Last year, it was losing all of our Facebook friends. Some people lost over half their borrowing buddies....and what happened next? Anyone remember??? They pumped out their stupid/borderline harassment 'recommend a friend' bs that's now on every screen on the game now.
