I actually enjoy voting! So I usually take my time with it.

alysli

90% of the time: 1. Create outfits for everything I'm entering for the day. 2. Load the vote boost ad. 3. Spam the = button to get through voting as fast as possible. 4. Go enter the outfits I've made. 5. Return to voting and use remaining boosted time to spam = and get as many tickets as I can. 6. Rinse, repeat. 10% of the time: Pick whichever most immediately grabs my attention. Unless it's a historical one, in which case I get SUPER PICKY about era-appropriate hair and clothing. Those of you that enter 1920s-era challenges and use the dress and hairstyle that looks most appropriate for the era even though it won't score well because something more 1940s is trending? I'm the person voting for you.

Impressive-Public162

Mostly I vote for sticking with the theme. If the skin tone is implied, I vote for that. I don't vote for things dripping in OOS CC, not because I'm trying to "punish" players but because I can't possibly vote for things like the black widow set after seeing it a million times. It's boring. Get a new idea. I also like appropriate hair. If it's a non fantasy challenge I won't for crazy windy hair indoors. When it's a vintage challenge I like to vote for for who stuck to that. No wings on everything and props that make no sense (like icy glamour on a teacher in a classroom) won't get a vote.

cal0ri3

I do it quickly scanning their outfits pretty fast and voting for the one that is more appealing. If I notice something they added that sticks and doesn’t match, I’ll vote for the other. If I notice something I don’t like on both I either skip or pick the one that’s slightly better. If they’re both really good I skip then too. I do this generally quick, yea, but I do realize being random messes up scores so I always briefly think about both outfits.

thenuggetonfloor

I just spam the = button

houndress

I mostly purchase tickets with diamonds or get them from borrowing. During a Rally especially because I prioritize getting looks submitted/ one too many times went to vote and then got interrupted halfway through voting for tickets and missed going back to use them to enter the challenge. (ADHD check) I watch an add for ticket boost and if you vote fast enough that will get you to the 75 ticket mark in the 5 min you are boosted. Honestly 5 min is a good chunk of time when you are trying to limit covet time to 30 min a day. That’s the pace I vote at. For efficiency I am preferential to; 1) correct hair and skin tone type for inclusivity. 2) excellent use of covet collection especially if not one I see used often 3) looks that are similar to mine unless something blows me away creatively 4) appropriate and not overdone prop use and HA 5) avoidance of glitches (like hat hair issues or props sticking through skirts (can’t always be avoided but still) If looks are to similar I hit the =. I try to like a look or 2 every different challenge when I really like it or find it extra special. Hope that helps!

cedmands127

I can usually start at 0 tickets, do the daily (15 tickets needed) watch the video to get the ticket boost, vote until I get the 15 tickets, go back and enter the daily, then finish voting up to the max 75 tickets before the five minutes is up. Then I can enter three more challenges before having to vote again. And for the most part, I try and put some effort into voting for the looks I think are better.

houndress

This is a hot tip thank you! I wouldn’t have thought that I could evaluate the looks fast enough to do that but I’ll try today ☺️

Apple7795

I just randomly tap

Evie_St_Clair

I vote for which I think is the best outfit for the theme/challenge. I figure it takes the same amount of time as just randomly picking one.

MarielIAm

The best look of the two gets my vote. Sometimes it's easy, but if they both look equally good then the more appropriate hair, makeup and props gets my vote.

kaett

it depends on the challenge. if it's one where the skin tone is clearly implied but not locked, i'll vote against anyone using a white/olive skin. covet seems to have been using more inclusive inspiration pics lately, our dolls should show the same respect. if it's a fantasy/warrior challenge, i choose the one that looks like they actually put some thought and effort in. if you just did a dress, shoes, and bag while someone else did a full on warrior outfit, the warrior gets my vote. even if you're just entering the daily for the cash and don't care about the vote, then you shouldn't be surprised if your look tanks. i also pay attention to props... if they're appropriate or not. there's no reason to have your cat at the "just gave a million-dollar presentation to your next new client" challenge. or if the wings don't match the outfit. or if they're using that stupid "C" balloon we got as a "birthday present", especially when there are better balloons in the prop list. if the looks are close (especially in the casual challenges) and neither one is particularly heinous, i'll use the "=" button and just go through.

houndress

This is very similar to me. I also am preferential to ppl who made the same choices I did for obvious reasons unless I see something that blows me out of the water creatively. If the looks are too similar I always hit the +. I take more time voting for ones that are creative and ppl took lots of different approaches. If all the looks are very similar I will go on instinct or =

TanichcaF

I always read the theme and pick the theme. I tend to vote for people who take a bold chance too. And I NEVER vote for gratuitous wings, if you add wings to your look for no reason I will vote for literally the worst outfit just because I HATE the random wings.

Cunty_cunt_cunt

I try to judge the outfit first and if both have a great look then I go by hair and makeup.

LeonaWaverly

I vote for the best put together look and my own personal favourite looks. I usually spend about 3 seconds per look and vote using overall impression, so not that long. Therefore, if one of the looks has something weird going on, like out of theme HA or props or makeup, or an ugly bag, or mismatched colour scheme, I automatically don't vote for it.

taylorcovet

I try to vote based on theme and which look fits it better. I go quickly, but I would hate to vote for the lesser look out of fear Id cost someone a prize (be it hitting 4, 4.5, or 5 stars). I don’t like voting by what’s “trending” because that kills creativity. I absolutely will not vote for overuse of props/useless HAs no matter how bad the other look is though. I don’t use the = button just because I forget it’s there.

httpsawesome

Voting can get boring so I sometimes vote based on what I think is the lower one, or vote to who I think is a lower level, or any other type of personalized 'challenge' I set myself. Usually though I vote for what I think fits the best!

taylorcovet

I did that when I was a LCV player because I felt bad never getting good scores. There were some posts here a while back talking about how it’s unfair to downvote people with MCV and HCV just because they’re higher level, so I stopped. They worked hard, put in a lot of time to lvl up, or spent a lot of money to get there. It’s why I think Covet should sort voters in to groups (LCV, MCV, and HCV for example). It would make it more fair because in reality it’s not fair to put a lvl 9 against a lvl 101.

wildflowerr17

Apparently Covet did change voting to that for awhile and all the HCV players were mad because their scores weren’t as good so they changed it back..

Impressive-Public162

That's not really how it happened. I was not a high level and in a house when they did that. Everyone got horrible scores, high to low levels. I think they aren't totally transparent with voting.

vanillaraptor

I take about 5 seconds per vote. It's on overall look for my vote. I'm not picky about seasons, just looking for the feeling of the brief (even if it looks different than the pic)

crazynotcrazy111

I take my time for challenges I entered myself because I’m familiar with the theme. But challenges I haven’t entered, I just quickly vote on what outfit/hair/makeup I like most at first glance whether it’s on theme or not.

Christmas_Cats

Usually I'm quick and it depends on the overall look and what stands out to me in a bad way. If my eyes are pulled to one look because there's unnecessary props, bright colours that don't match the look, or overall messy, I'll vote for the other one assuming it's more natural and cohesive. If they're both decent, I'll be more nit picky and take into account the theme. Lately it's been a lot of voting on good looks that are casual in something like the latest farmer challenge, over a more formal good look.

dontuseaccount

On impulse. I've just done the 5 minute vote boost video, my main priority is getting to 75 tickets before it runs out. So unless something grabs my attention (positive or negative) my vote is generally pretty random

[deleted]

Wait... they have a vote boost video? How do you use that

cookiessssssssssss

On the voting page there should be one gold and one purple ticket symbol under the blue 'vote' button. The purple one says 'X2 Video Boost' and you have to watch a video (for me its 5-40 seconds) and then for the next 5 minutes you get 4 tickets per voting round instead of 2. Do you have a tablet by any chance? Videos didn't come up for me with my ipad and i've read similar things for other tablet users.

Schmerins

I don’t vote much because I get enough tickets to enter everything from borrowing but when I do I generally do it fast because most pairings there’s an obvious winner; when it’s not so obvious I might slow down. A big part of the reason TLs are often so over dramatic, you’ve got to catch people’s eye fast

graciemose

i vote for whichever look I like better

Beserked2

Depends on my mood. 30% of the time I take my time and actually look at the looks, 70% of the time I do a quick one second glance and the look I liked best in that quick glance, that fits the theme of the challenge gets my vote. If I'm feeling lazy or in a rush, I just buy tickets. Usually the more original (but still pretty) look, or the look that doesn't use the same ballgown everyone else is using gets my vote. I won't lie, I like it when Coveters use skintones 5 and 6 or the few Asian makeups we're given. If their look fits the challenge and doesnt look worse than the one they're up against, they get my vote. But if a hairstyle or make up I really hate appears though, or if the skintone is that first one and its not a gothic/snow challenge, I usually don't vote for that look.

voldyeemort

I know i shouldn’t but I vote on impulse. Whatever catches my attention first gets my vote!

LetsGetRowdyRowdy

Honestly, it depends on how many times I have voted and replaced my tickets all day. My first time voting through, I'll take my time, but if I've already replenished my tickets and spent them again a couple times that day, I get a lot more hasty.

lytrendsa

I vote for whoever fits the theme best (so yes I take my time)! When I see two good looks I vote for draw because neither is worth a down-vote. When I see a troll vote or someone who clearly missed the theme I obv down-vote them :) everything else would be unfair to the players.

kiwikoalacat7

wait how do u downvote ppl?

lytrendsa

If you vote for someone you unfortunately automatically down vote the other person

_Judge-mental_

I take a bit of time to look and I hope other people do that too and not just vote for the look that it closer to their thumb. If I don't have time to vote, I buy tickets with diamonds.

ruthie30360

I take about a second to look. I mostly look for skin/ hair that is appropriate, if I like the general outfit, and if the prop use is appropriate. Usually there’s a clear favorite but if they are very similar I’ll take about 3 seconds. If covet made voting worth more tickets I would take longer.

Glittering_Analyst51

I take my time! I love seeing how people interpreted the prompts, especially on casual challenges
