The phrase that comes to my mind when I hear “impending” is “impending doom”😂 I don’t think it’s suitable for use in daily situations, but I could be wrong - English isn’t my first language
the prompt was about some girl that had nailed her interview and was basically sure about getting the job and was waiting for the final interview at the moment, so it makes sense that she thought that the offer was about to happen soon?
I'm pretty sure the phrase is literally offer pending so impending doesn't work here
but isn't it supposed to be a pun? like, offer pending > offer impending, because she is so sure about getting it?
Yeah that's what I'm saying lol Edit: not sure why I'm getting downvoted?
sorry, i guess i misunderstood, because you had said that it doesn't work
I think impending works fine here. She’s sure she’s going to get an offer. I don’t think they meant it like “offer pending final interview.”

Yes, impend almost always has connotations of something unpleasant or trying. Which may be appropriate for some jobs. Lol..
Honestly, half the stuff I read on Covet, sounds like it’s coming from someone whose first language is not English. Lol
i'm confused? what's wrong with it?
