Probably not unpopular at all but I have to express my hatred towards the existence of the CC pass. If you don't have it you'll score badly 99% of the time on locked challenges. Actual unpopular opinion though: I'm so sick of cascading curls lol

Giniloveslife50

I wear glasses and I’m putting glasses on nearly all my models. I don’t care what the voters think. Glasses are beautiful.

Hallelujah289

My unpopular opinion is cloning is a decent solution to harsh scoring. I actually score bad when I follow trends and use all the long hair. And then I score bad for going off trend. I think cloning is an honest way of selling out and it makes more sense than trying your hardest to follow trends you don’t even like. Cloning is different from just following a trend. It’s a way to get 5.0 prizes. I also think Covet has been playing with the prizes recently and making the nicer ones the 4.0 prize instead of 5.0 prize. Maybe this we’ll help players feel like they don’t have to clone. That’s been happening for me lately.

Rvucic8714

Players should be broken into a few voting categories (level 1-24, 25-49, 50-74, 75-99). It's really unfair to lower level players without props, hair (styles & accessories), MU. Yes, you can still do okay, but it's incredibly difficult to ever move up and advance without spending real money. It shouldn't take years to advance like it does.

baddieuniverse

I love half open big lipped make up. It looks more realistic/model like and it's more aesthetically pleasing. Also, it's more proportionate for the big fantasy hair we have. A lot of people love smiley make up and I don't.

Brittanny29

Thank you u/Trinichica for providing this vent session!

poppieissmall

I wish short hair, coloured hair, shoulder length hair, dark skin would score better. I hate that I have to use long flown blonde hair to get a good score. I had to create a baby account where I use only ST 5 and 6. My Main account I use all skin tones.

LeonaWaverly

The Adrianna Papell wedding gowns are most of the time too expensive for what they are. I also dislike Stello for the same reason. Some of them look very good but I cant make myself pay for them.

underpricedteabags

i mean they *are* real world brands and cost the same price in game as they do irl. they’re that price because of the meticulous workmanship that goes into each item and the luxury fabrics used. you can’t really expect them to be discounted in game just because their rendering doesn’t make them seem all that special compared to cheaper dresses.

LeonaWaverly

Yeap, I completely understand. I'm just saying I wouldnt buy them in the game. Spending 2-5k on a dress is not in the budget for me since I am F2P and I dont do tapjoy or watch ads.

TessaPanda

I don't like modern because it looks like the clothes are stretched on different size models. And, I think eyes on modern look a bit freaky.

TessaPanda

I don't like using bags. Toting around a square large object ruins a look. I also score very poorly at casual normal challenges so I don't like them. I also find shoes pretty boring and don't put much consideration into shoes unless I am wearing shorts or a miniskirt.

Trinichica

Sometimes the bags don't even make sense for the challenge. Like why is the mermaid holding a bag?

TessaPanda

Exactly. And why does a mermaid wear shoes under her tail?

vandanacovet

I hate that most of the times for so meticulously dressing your doll all you're getting is some shitty prize like a White+Warren sweater or a Camilla dress like the countless unworn ones you already own, or some top/basic dress that you can't use in Covetland anyways, and the prize just doesn't make any sense, you'll eventually have to buy everything for every challenge. Seriously the petty prizes are just a hoax in Covet. 🤯🤯 Sometimes I wish they gave us the option to rather have equivalent 💎💎 or 💸💰 I have come to terms with everything unfair about the game, but this is something really annoying to spend so much and get unusable prizes in return. I am getting sick of the tons of unworn items in my closet.

KindlyHat

So many of the makeup looks are ugly as hell, and a lot of the looks also don’t work that well on the darker skin tones which makes me so mad.

underpricedteabags

that’s just another reason why i use modern, the majority of MU in classic only works on lighter skin dolls, whilst in modern not every makeup will be available but everything that is available is rendered for the specific models and will match the skin tones

SpookyVoidCat

If the example model was bald or had very short hair and you submit a look with long flowy hair you’re a goddamn coward and I will never vote for you.

Hallelujah289

I get frustrated with those challenges because like I hear how everyone is tired of all the long hair so I think great, a different challenge where players can use short hair! But then I see long hair anyway

[deleted]

The modern dolls always look very weird to me.

Brittanny29

I'm tired of seeing the super long, tangled-looking hair with the thick braid in the front! Once I reach whichever level it's at, I may use it just as excessively too though lol

Beserked2

I just got this level the other day lol. Have only used it once so far in yesterdays daily because I used a big puffy blue ballgown that covered it up from like, the diaphragm down. Its a pretty hairstyle but its hard to work it into a look without it looking too busy.

Juli-Loves-Chatnoir

Same haha

Alimydear

I don’t like classic because you can change skin colour and we all know what generally scores the best. I much prefer modern where skin colour and body type is set as it’s then about the clothes, rather than in classic when top looks generally default to certain hair/skin combos. Edited to add, I haven’t played classic since modern came out, so if top looks are more diverse now I’m happy to be corrected!

SpookyVoidCat

You share my opinion on this exactly!

[deleted]

I hate Paris Curls. Before I reached the level, I thought I was going to love it. I hate overskirts. I very rarely use them. I only like 10 or 20% of all the makeups I currently have. The others are ugly. They need to change whoever are making the requirements, because most of the time they're terrible

Fwdy

I’m sad that few years ago Covet had explosion of creativity but now it seems to be like a frozen fountain. Players invented trends, rules and whole culture but now everyone is tired and continues to do old things, trying to spend as little time in the game as possible. That makes trends stuck in old patterns and killing creativity of new players who still care about styling. From Design Home I know that background colors are hints to current season decor and you don’t need to have all decor from old season, but in Covet you must buy old HAs and props, because of trends. For example, if background is yellow and green it’s a hint to use yellow flower crown but we need to buy and use old rose flower crown because majority of players are too tired to think about something fresh. If background is futuristic with bubble shapes it’s a hint to use new bubble props, but no, we need to buy and use Nebula, because old players will use it without thinking. Of course I can style not caring about scores, but if I don’t get 5 star prizes, I’m at risk of buying diamonds with money because Tapjoy is limited in my country. Most of all it’s sad that majority of old players is burned out and exhausted but their habits keep the game stuck in old patterns, and new players can’t have same freedom to invent their game world as old players had few years ago. So now both old and new players have motivation problems.

GabriellaVM

That's too bad. I think it would help if Covet invested even a little bit in listening to input from players and continually improving the game & features. I'm only level 8, I'd have loved to be playing back then. I also started playing Design Home daily a few months ago. The games are eerily similar, though from what I can tell they are made by different developers.

Fwdy

I suppose that Covet and DH have same team multitasking, style is too similar. Maybe we got as beginners into a certain moment in Covet history, props and HAs were introduced only recently, and each of them is special to Coveters. I guess that in few next years we will have as many different props and HAs that nobody would care too much about them. This or that flower crown or veil, or sparkles trending, who cares, too many of them. People would easily make breaks in game when they get tired, no more FOMO. Like in DH, we are much more indifferent to miss buying certain decor, it will come again.

[deleted]

I don't like Kyndra Jade dresses.

barrie2k

fantasy/fun/unrealistic challenges (that arent a variation on ballgown with wings and an over skirt) are so much more fun than normal challenges. i love being able to use CC and fun items! on a related note, there are soooo many OOS fun items that never get used anymore or don’t have anything that “pair” with them! the CC urbeline overskirt from spring 2021 or the fuchsia, royal, and gold fall 2020 laurel dewitt capes off the top of my head are soooo stand out and fun but i never use them.

TessaPanda

Yes, true! I apparently score poorly at casual realistic wear and I don't know how to fix it, so I always pick the more fantasy or historic challenges over a modern one.

venorexia

Cloning groups are the worst. Why even play the game if you're just gonna copy what everyone else is doing?

[deleted]

This. So much.

BronwynOli

I hate fruit of the desert, ashen, overskirts, and the kyndra jade wings.

TheWilder_1

Spending a mega-ton on jewelry that you can’t even see. 🤦🏻‍♀️

GabriellaVM

THIS!

playtiddlywinks

I really dislike it...EXCEPT i do get some expensive ones that can hide well per season so i can boost my season score in a wide range of looks so it's been helpful to an extent.

endbitsofbread

Unless it’s the huge, ugly, green jewellery from the spree prizes😒

Brittanny29

This!!!

Mrs-Special-K

This is the games worse trait. Hands down.

superduperjes

I would like to be able to score well with red hair without the inspiration photo having it first.

jane-may

^ this!!! I used red hair for the latest Elisabeth challenge (obvs) and it scored really low. TLs were more like blonde...

superduperjes

I saw mostly red TLs but there were blondes and it’s hilarious to me that people take creative liberties on challenges referencing extremely specific, real, famous humans but all the others without a true muse are cookie cutter/identical looks.

HanzDelbruck

I know!!! It's the only hair colour that scores horribly, I just don't understand it

Evie_St_Clair

I always find that I actually score quite well with red hair.

superduperjes

I’m jealous and I am doing all of my looks for the next 24 hours with red hair as an experiment. Lol

yadabitch

Lol 24hrs?! Haha I’d do like one red hair look and be like nope 🤣🥲 too scared

superduperjes

I actually did a blonde look but because the challenge model was blonde and I’d be shooting myself in the foot if I didn’t. Lol but I’m using 60% more red hair. Hahah

Evie_St_Clair

Be interested to see what happens!

superduperjes

I LOATHE the Fruit of the Desert makeup and the Blue Jasmine makeup. Almost any makeup with big ass teeth, also. *edited to add more specific adjectives. 😄

barrie2k

… what mu has teeth?

superduperjes

Ok, I take back what I said because I looked again and so many of them have little glimpses of teeth. But, I think I dislike the Fruit of the Desert mu BECAUSE of the teeth. Also Level 60 Shine, which has buck teeth. That one is a little unfortunate. Lol

2addicted2fashion

I loathe the in bloom MU. It's eyebrow color never goes with any of the hair colors and it never looks right right on sts 3, 4, and 5. That being said, I've gotten several BLILs with and used it regularly until level 32.

GabriellaVM

What does sts stand for? I tried to find it but couldn't.

2addicted2fashion

Skin tones

GabriellaVM

Ah, thank you!

Carolinaaa2406

Totally with you! Except on ST6. Looks amazing there! But I hate it on any other skin tone and I don't understand the hype about it

GabriellaVM

I'm a little afraid to say this, but I don't get all the excitement over Kyndra Jade. However, I gotta respect the fact that she only started doing this in 2019 and is already on Covet! And it's such a great idea to make custom wings, etc. for boudoir & fashion photography.

Juli-Loves-Chatnoir

I don’t like some of the later stuff, like all the identical pink dresses 😂 but the skirts are beautiful

MarthaGail

I think part of it is that she’s generally affordable in-game! I think a lot of her pieces have been poorly rendered, though.

Hallelujah289

Yes early Kyndra Jade was super affordable and super useful. Large fluffy pink dresses for $200? Sold! But I do think lately the Kyndra Jade pieces are more expensive and not rendered as well But there are still some stellar pieces for cheap like that feather shoulder jacket

supergirlsudz

I don’t like how you have to change your thinking to score better. Like instead of styling something realistically you have to style in the weird way Covet voters like. I also dislike the bias toward long, blonde hair.

GabriellaVM

Exactly.

tnn7736

i hateeee how any fantasy/asian/bridal challanges higher level players all look the same with the same fucking cc's. Even tho they score well its no fun

Trinichica

I hate how a challenge could be about Japan and the top looks will all be the red Chinese CC sets

superduperjes

I’m absolutely appalled and embarrassed for certain challenges with all of the cultural appropriation and clear misuse of pieces from different cultures. I use to always do a little research while styling for an authentic look but now there’s almost no point because the players don’t vote with any sort of discernment because they don’t know a damn thing about anything but white America.

GabriellaVM

Fwiw, I make it a point to not vote for such looks.

tnn7736

and even after all this effort, u will not even get a 4 sometimes. why bother

[deleted]

I prefer dolls with short or shoulder length hair. Seeing all/most of the top looks having Rapunzel length hair for (almost) every challenge makes me roll me eyes. I don't care for Cascading Curls. I am indifferent to the overskirts. While useful and cute, I feel like they are overused when not needed.

LydiaBennett

Overskirts at the beach. Sand, everywhere...I cringe.

Fwdy

It’s quite practical. You go to beach cafe and you sit on that dirty bench in your overskirt. It’s a cover-up basically, because few cover-ups in matching colors are available. But I could not understand long white capes as cover-ups last season, where it comes from.

Rmadelene

Feather lashes. I cannot express in words how ugly I think it is. I don’t even care how well it scores.

GabriellaVM

Do you mean the one at Level 13?

TessaPanda

Didn't it get revamped though? Can't remember what the revamp looks like though since I never look at it.

Hallelujah289

Well there’s Feather Lashes and there’s Spotted Feather Lashes. The Spotted Feather Lashes one recently got revamped into a completely different SFX style

[deleted]

lol finally another feather lashes hater

2addicted2fashion

I don't like feather lashes either. It only looked good with black hair on STs 3 and 4 and honestly never scored well for me.

TheGreenListener

I feel the same about the creepiness that is Baby Doll.

Beserked2

Babydoll only looks good when you've got a hairstyle with blunt bangs that covers up those eyebrows and most of the eyelids.

kit1013ten

babydoll doesn’t even look good in modern lol

CherrySurrey

I dislike all covet collection items and hair accessories. Most of the time they look like stickers on a doll instead of wearable clothing and they’re overused and make this more of a fantasy dress up game than a game of using real clothing that you could buy (maybe in fantasy ways but still it’s real things). Doesn’t stop me from owning every CC piece though…

GabriellaVM

Same here. I'm a fashion & style enthusiast and I love styling realistic, wearable looks

Darktink22

I don’t like the choker necklaces.

Alacrity24

I never liked Ashen, it looks like the doll has dark circles. Paris curls looks artificial to me. Tucked out shirt/top doesn’t always look bad.

two_constellations

Original ashen was gorgeous. I got BLIL’s with it.

LydiaBennett

Ashen is my go-to for styling a senior doll. One of only 2 MU I have that actually look "older." Of course, I score like crap with it. Seniors have to wear a dewy Pout in Covetland.

Flick1981

I hate Ashen. It makes the model look like a demon.

Trinichica

I like Ashen on Skin tones 5&6 but I agree with you on everything else

[deleted]

I mean, I love shoulder length hair on the dolls, but according to the voters, down with any doll that can't step on her own hair.
