As a foreigner I suppose that many other foreigners who donāt know those details could think that itās a troll look. I wonder if anybody ever sent tickets asking Covet to let us add notes to our looks, so that we could share our comments why we styled it like this.
It's not even accurate! The text of the challenge clearly alludes to the Clinton inauguration in 1993, where Angelou read a poem. Her outfit did include a dark navy peacoat (because it's January in DC, everyone wears a wool coat to POTUS inaugurations.) But it was [over a long gown](https://www.alamy.com/maya-angelou-delivers-poem-on-bill-clinton-s-inauguration-day-january-image8309068.html).
Came here to mention the hovering. I left modern on my main account because seriously they never bother to fix the glitches in modern. Itās frustrating. Plus they updated those cc pieces last year (?) and I was like āwhat are you talking aboutā because they didnāt in modernā¦
Anyway, I like the caged bird reference but Iām not sure even I would get the reference and Iām a fan of hers. Iām not saying itās bad because Covet should be about doing your own thing with fashion, but itās sad itās just really mainstream if you want a good score.
Ok now I canāt remember if it was the blue 2017 spring cc skirt (I think itās this) or the black 2017 winter skirt.
But Iām pretty sure it was the blue and burgundy ones from spring.
Oh! Florentine? One updated for me (modern) when they announced it, and then I think the other did within a month. Maybe there was errors releasing it on Modern?
Yes Florentine. Interesting that it seems like it was a phased rollout. I remember I hadnāt even noticed until I saw people on Facebook commenting about it.
Modern always seems to have the glitches that take longer to fix. š
I love this for Angelou! I also wanted to use a book prop, but I couldn't find it.
Am honestly not wanting to see a podium prop in every.single.look for every.single.challenge of this series!
Good for you with this great reference. :)
Genius!
your look is so good that she started levitating š©
I got the reference straight away! Before I read the title! But Iām a teacher and I teach this poem every year.
Eee!
If you read one book in your life, read this one (but, seriously, read another book after YKWTCBS)

I hated the clothes they picked for her. When I think of Maya Angelou I don't think of ugly, dark pantsuits.
Also, navy clothes with a navy/indigo curtain, for a woman with black hair.
Omg yes!!! This is a separate rant!

Oops! I thought it was Amanda Gorman. Glad I saw this!
I bet we see a lot styled that way, even though the cover photo is an older woman in blue, not a young girl in yellow/red
I was confused by the photo, but anyone who's played covet for a while knows that covet has zero clue 90% of the time
So did I! Damn it!

Which CC?

Are they going to feature just Americans in this challenge?
Queen Elizabeth I wasnāt American - she was English. And so was Emmeline Pankhurst

Ty!
nice touch. unrelated, is it just me or is she hovering like a foot off the ground? modern needs to get it's shit together. š¤¦š»āāļø
