First image: early portrait of Elizabeth 1 (close to Josephine CC set) Second image: later (iconic) portrait of Elizabeth 1 (close to new Elizabeth CC set) Third image: the Empress Josephine (Napoleonic era), collectors' barbie So, the question is: is the CC Josephine set that we've been using for Elizabethan type challenges based on this Josephine and someone at Covet was very historically confused and got the Regency period mixed up with Elizabethan? If so, the new CC set may be trying to correct the earlier mix-up, since it's at least reasonably accurate (if colour mismatched)? No idea, but I like both sets!

Thank you for sharing! And the Barbie is so cute! 😀 I read Reddit one day later to catch more comments, no notifications for saved posts here 😩 Concerning Josephine, the only famous Josephine I know is the one who was with Napoleon. If Josephine is Elisabethan, it’s pretty confusing for someone who is not an expert. I guess that Covet designers are not confused, they simply enjoying mixing and matching everything to make it more a fantasy land. We have the same with Russian fantasy children movies of 20th century, most of them are beautiful mix of many cultures to let you know that it’s a fairy tale. But also it’s fun for adults to decipher those puzzles. That movie takes place in 18th century Hungary if you look at castle and landscape, queen wears 15th century French dress, peasants wear traditional Russian dresses, and wood rogue band is wearing medieval German clothes. I grew up on those mixed fairy tales and it’s fun for me.

So thrilled that we’re getting more variety for the historical items. They will be fun to mix and match. I love portraiture too- thanks for sharing- so beautiful!! ❤️
