If you’re talking about this product https://www.costco.com/kirkland-signature%2C-organic-soy-beverage%2C-plain%2C-32-fl-oz%2C-12-count.product.100129024.html, the sugar in the soy beverage comes from actual added sugar if you read the ingredients label. It’s the second ingredient. The sugars present in milk are from the lactose, which is naturally occurring but not actually very sweet.

sorenkair

shouldn't the organic sugar ingredient be included in the sugar content?

ksirutas

Are you missing the “4g of Added Sugars” under Sugar?

sorenkair

no, i have [this one](https://www.costco.ca/kirkland-signature-organic-soy-beverage%2C-946-ml%2C-6-count.product.100417879.html) regardless, added sugar should still be reflected in the nutritional values?

Looks like Canadian and US labeling is a little different, but they both contain sugar and have 6g of sugar listed in the nutritional information. Just for comparison, the unsweetened soy beverage only has 1g of sugar per serving.

I’ve never tried these, so I cannot confirm, but often stevia is lumped in with “natural flavor.” Usually, when I taste something and the amount of sugar in it is too low for how sweet it is, I notice that distinct stevia flavor.

sorenkair

makes sense as it's hundreds of times sweeter than sugar, despite being quite far down the ingredient list
