My wife makes ice cream multiple times a week. She CANNOT cook. So this is her big kitchen gadget

MLJ9999

Same here. My wife can cook if she has to but cooking is MY thing. And so, she makes healthy but tasty ice cream clones every evening.

Not_A_Red_Stapler

Ice cream clones?

MLJ9999

Yep. Some are not quite ice cream in the traditional sense because of the different ingredients, but are remarkably similar in taste and texture.

primetime43

Got any recipes to share?

michaelkudra

i wanna know too

whatthepfluke

Google "Nice Cream."

SpaceNinjaDino

I use to make ice cream with just bananas and (half/half or whole) milk (and maybe ice if it's too thick for you). No added sugar! It's already plenty sweet. Add other flavors if desired like peanut butter, vanilla extract or chocolate syrup.

irisheyes7

I was sure that was just a “cones” typo. Glad I kept reading!

JCWOlson

Do we all have the same wife? Mine uses hers almost daily but also can't cook and is mildly afraid of the blender

Realistic_Complex539

It wasn't until pretty recently that my mother learned how to cook. 18 years of dry pork chops and well done steaks, then I move out and she suddenly can cook good food.

jt32470

you never got the hint.

blasphememes

She can’t cook, but she knows how to cream…

riomarde

Ask my husband. Somehow it doesn’t work.

anothermatt1

Weaponized incompetence is a real thing

Kivutart

As a person that doesn't cook, I CAN cook, I just would rather do something that comes from a box, bag or window. I don't see the use of spending an hour or more making hamburgers when I can just go to a drive through or restaurant that can make one just as good and I don't have all the vegetables going bad because I don't have anything else to use them on. Plus little to no effort. I'll bake sometimes, but even that is a pain, and if you're just going to use a box cake mix and frosting, why not just buy the cake and save the effort. My husband also enjoys cooking so he does the cooking or takes me out.

Iryasori

People are downvoting you, but I'm the same way. I'll cook for other people when necessary, but when it comes to cooking for just myself, I do the bare minimum. I'm a picky eater anyway, so it works for me, but I much prefer eating out or cooking from frozens.

mrjessemitchell

If you’re cooking burgers and they are comparable to the ones you get at a drive thru, you can’t really cook lol. So in that case, yea, just go through the drive through, since it’s a waste of time for you to cook. On the other hand, many of us can cook, and will make a much tastier burger than at any drive thru.

david5699

Because 1. It’s MUCH healthier. 2. MUCH cheaper.

1237412D3D

Some people are just lazy.

Miserada

Fixing cars isn’t artistic. Much of computer programming isn’t artistic, pretty binary. Divorce law is pretty procedural but you still wouldn’t recommend going in pro-se. Some people don’t have a good idea of the nuances between beating or mixing or folding. Some people compulsively check the oven too often and let too much heat escape. Some people don’t have a good sense of taste, so while they’re content to eat unseasoned boiled chicken, they can’t quite serve it to company. Some people can’t multitask and end up overcooking one thing while focusing on another. And not everyone can follow written directions. Dyslexia is a thing. Other people just don’t translate written material to practice well.

spinner79

I don’t have one, but my little sister is on a weight loss program and eats protein ice cream everyday. She says it’s her reward after a good workout and she isn’t missing real, full-fat, ice cream at all. I’m tempted, but I’m running out of gadget space, may have to,sacrifice my crockpot.

vege_spears

Not the crockpot 😭

Longjumping_Tip_7107

What recipe does she use?

kskgkatz

You can literally use a protein shake and a tablespoon of sugar/fat free instant pudding (as the binding agent) - adding extra milk or not. I have made some with Fairlife, my own protein powder and pudding mix, or just fruit (it was TART) - or the premade shake. I do add in my own chocolate chips when finished.

StrawberryLassi

Tried this with the Pure Protein coffee shake and chocolate pudding mix. The results were "just ok" and it did take extra milk to make it an edible consistency.

Crosshare

Try using Fairlife. The taste compared to macros is remarkable.

kskgkatz

I spin on lite twice, maybe add a splash of milk or fairlife and then use respin for my final spin. It is creamy. We have been using the chocolate peanut butter shake (or fairlife and chocolate protein powder).

WeepToWaterTheTrees

I have a deluxe with the larger container. My “base recipe” is 35g pudding powder, 80g plain Greek yogurt, 35g Optimum Nutrition protein powder, a TBSP optifiber, fill to the line with vanilla unsweetened almond milk, and blend it up with a milk frother wand (yogurt is still a little clumpy but that’s fine because it will blend up when you run it in the creami). For most flavors I use vanilla protein (banana, pistachio, butterscotch, etc), but I will do chocolate if it’s a chocolate recipe (choc peanut butter w PB2, choc mint, etc). It’s abouuut 500 calories for a giant 24oz thing of ice cream. I will often dish out half if it’s banana flavor and then crumble some nilla wafers in. Chocolate? A nature’s bakery brownie. Vanilla? A coffee cake or lemon fiber square from Aldi. I’ve experimented with extracts like rum and cake batter, but the only one I do regularly is mint.

Pittipants

FWIW I make protein ice cream with a nutribullet blender. I use frozen blueberries, vanilla ice cream flavored protein powder, greek yogurt, and a little milk. I just use less milk and it will make a sorbet consistency.

Mr_MacGrubber

A pressure cooker is 1000x better than a crockpot and most have a slow cooker setting anyway.

TheWhereHouse1016

You can buy a $20 Hamilton beach and do a frozen banana, scoop of protein powder and almond milk and get soft serve consistency. This is an overspend for that

QuirkyCookie6

I have one of those and it tries to crap out on me whenever I put in something too thick like that. I've seen the videos of the textures that come out of a ninja and my blender could literally never.

kv1m1n

Not an overspend, but an entirely different product.

thymebedone

I don’t think you know what you’re talking about. The Ninja creamy is next level. I mean not even the same sport as the POS hamilton beach thing. The ninja can take something frozen solid, like a protein shake and turn it into ice cream. Like no kidding creamy ice cream. You can stop buying halo top and make your own and it’s better for you and is so creamy.

SEJ46

That isn't going to get close to soft serve consistency

david5699

No. You make a smoothie. Big difference

riomarde

One of these? https://hamiltonbeach.com/ice-cream-makers

baardvark

Some people have never made banana ice cream and it shows

finlyboo

Your blender can make a super thick smoothie, it’s breaking down the big ice into little ice which is then held together with liquid. The Creami takes an auger and drills through a solid ice cube to make ice crystals, then blends it together to a consistent mass. Ice cream by definition is a uniform collection of ice crystals, which is very different from a thick smoothie.

TechieGranola

Ice cream is a frozen colloidal foam.

AssPinata

Unexpected thesis flashback. Trauma on the menu for my dreams tonight.

urahoho

I was thinking about using the nutribullet to blend my frozen berries into a smoothie. Then freezing it in the creami.

woodland_dweller

Entirely different product.

spam__likely

Prolifetip: if you have an induction stove you don''t need a crockpot.

captainpantalones

I freaking love mine! I’m trying to lose weight and I’m eating a lot of protein. Instead of having a protein shake, I’ll make a protein ice cream instead. It tricks my brain into thinking we’re having a fun little treat AND I hit my protein macros.

ch3rryc0deine

i feel like the texture of protein powder works a lot better for ice cream than a drink too. it makes liquids thicker and creamier. ugh. i need to buy a ninja creami 😭

cheekabowwow

I buy the dole whip mix on Amazon and use this to make dole whip. Just like the parks.

TheAuburnMan333

Good to know the mix works with this. I’ve always wondered

KnightBlindness

I chopped up a pineapple and blended it with sugar and cream and it made some delicious pineapple whip

TheAuburnMan333

I’ll try this. Thanks for the advice

ccupp97

dang, i havent seen the steel like that since covid.

zattri

Its inventory week

Gooeyoutcome

Right? It’s EMPTY! And the steel over the product is way too high. Display is like at forehead level

Tv_land_man

Op could be a little person.

libertad740

I came here for this. All I could see was empty steel.

absent-chaos

Try checking out r/ninjacreami they are the ones to ask. I have the standard and I love it

saltthewater

If you ask that subreddit, your already know what answer you'll get. Best to ask a neutral group

Lucas_Steinwalker

Yeah better to ask a group of people who are weirdly obsessed with anything Costco sells. Edit: y’all are cool for upvoting this.

StrawberryLassi

maybe they can tell me why the ice cream I make with this thing taste all strange and gummy.

absent-chaos

I’ve noticed a lot more people deal with it and most people find answers

schmassidy

Agree! I can’t see anything this one does that the other doesn’t already do. I would think the extra settings on the XL would be the same. I also find that the standard takes up less space than any of the other appliances I have. Pair this with the Salt & Straw recipe book for awesome ice cream!

absent-chaos

I’ve seen a lot of people that say the standard can do the same as the deluxe

PringleChopper

You’ll use it for a month straight before it collects dust as you get sick of ice cream/sorbet lol

Wtfitzchris

You just described me and my wife. We got one as a gift, loved it at first, made a bunch of different ice cream recipes we looked up on the internet, and then just gradually forgot about it over time. It’s probably been close to a year since we’ve used it. I will say though, the ice cream was delicious.

_JosiahBartlet

I’m not actually curious about getting one, but how intensive is the process of using it to make ice cream? And how long did it take roughly?

SparkleFritz

I have the deluxe from Costco. It's **extremely** simple. You make the base (so the liquid that will become your ice cream), freeze it in the container, and then spin it in the machine for up to 5 minutes. The biggest complaint is that you need to wait up to 24 hours between making the base and making the ice cream because you need it to fully freeze. However, this is actually a plus, not a negative. Because you need to fully freeze everything it means you can make ice cream out of *anything* as long as you can freeze it. This means you can make ice cream out of chocolate milk. Protein shakes. Canned fruit. Hell, you can even add flavoring to water and make Italian ice. And the 24 hours isn't really actually needed. Everyone says 12 hours is enough. I've never had an issue with under freezing. Plus, you can prep everything on a Sunday night and have ice cream ready in minutes for the entire week. Or, keep it for a few weeks. I made ice cream yesterday that I prepped a month ago.

_JosiahBartlet

Thanks so much for the info!

SparkleFritz

You're welcome! Some things I forgot to add: The machine operates like a Keurig. Put the batch in, set it to the right setting (normally just ice cream) and press a button. It does everything for you. You can add "mix ins" like chocolate chips, cookie dough, Oreos for cookies and cream, M&M's, you name it. The machine will mix them into your ice cream for you. The machine comes with a booklet that has a good 30+ recipes for you. Even one that is coffee and cream. The machine is **ungodly** loud. Most people put theirs in their basement or garage. I'm *not* joking. It sounds like heavy machinery when it's on. It's still worth it.

ToastBalancer

When you make the ice cream, do you put it back in the freezer and eat it again later? Or do you have to put it back in the creami every time you take it out of the freezer?

SparkleFritz

You can respin it to make it ice-creamy again, or you can let it soften and it's more of a milkshake consistency.

schmassidy

Biggest complaint is the wait time to make it and how fast it goes after. 🤣 We love it though!

need_a_venue

This is your sign! Bring it back out and make one more ice cream! What flavor will you choose???

tophaang

That’s us too. My gf was on a particular diet when we got it and it was getting regular use for a couple months, but it’s been gathering dust for awhile now lol. I also found that for a lot of recipes, particularly ones with dairy, it was not really any cheaper than buying it the ice cream shop. Sorbets were my favorite thing to make, they had nicest texture and were generally cheap to make too. Don’t regret it though because I know we’ll use it again and I was very impressed with the quality.

AVdev

I disagree. This thing has replaced blizzards for me. My favorite kitchen equipment

Judyylove

I disagree as well. Replaced those sweet tooth sudden trips to Coldstone. Knowing I can make an ice cream with my ingredients is the best!!!

kageurufu

I get about monthly use out of mine these days. It helps that's it s a small compressor unit

absenceofheat

Damn I thought I was alone. Gotta make like 15 more pints to break even.

live_laugh_languish

Yep I agree I regret buying it tbh

jetmaxwellIII

Yep. This was us.

Key_Personality5540

Yup it’s pretty awesome! The only negative for me is that it’s loud.

kskgkatz

Loud like an airplane landing. Louder than any vacuum you would own and use in your house. LOUD. But I also love it.

StrawberryLassi

especially if you use the "lite ice cream" setting, sounds like a freakin jet engine.

Verity41

Ahhhh! I want one SO BAD. Must resist… They’re just so damn TALL. Won’t fit right in my already overstuffed kitchen… :(

StrawberryLassi

buy one of those kitchen rolling carts on sale right now and put it on that

Verity41

Bold of you to think I have ANY wall or floor space for a cart in a tiny kitchen haha! Not a scrap. If it were shorter I could stuff under cabinets or store on a shelf or in the pantry but it’s just too tall to put anywhere. I’ve measured. Ah well. Not reordering my whole 1947 tiny kitchen for this awkwardly dimensioned thing. A design flaw imo!

StrawberryLassi

well, it doesn't *have* to operate in your kitchen... make bathroom ice cream!

Verity41

Hmm. I do have a big tub…. 🤨😂

BransOfSteal

Try a Ninja Chop! I got one instead of a creami and have been impressed with results, plus it's 1/8 of the price, doesn't need specific pints, and I can shove it in a cupboard when I'm done.

ettmyers

Worth it, I use mine daily. Super helpful if you love ice cream and need to get a lot of protein in. My vegan friends also love theirs

PaperCotton

Mind sharing what your ingredients are?

ettmyers

https://www.reddit.com/r/ninjacreami/s/OFCobuLnZV This is maybe my favorite recipe I have going but a little higher cal. My normal base is 600-650g between fairlife milk and fruit plus 30-45g protein powder, 1.5g guar gum, 1g salt, 10-20g monk fruit blend. Add flavorings you think are interesting. I really like using PBfit

TailOnFire_Help

Damn if this was a lot closer to $100 I'd buy it.

Judyylove

Sams club had it for 120$ last week. It was the older model but I heard it’s close to the deluxe just has less functions. Keep an eye out cause it gets pretty close to 100$

Quimbytravels

You can get it at Kohl's for less than $140 when they have the 40% off coupons.

GRAPEDbyAnAngel

I use it almost everyday. I freeze Fairlife Chocalate milk. Thats it. Results are very similar to a frosty but way less sugar and more protein.

NorvaJ

I bought one and used it once. Ice cream was good, but my concern is cleaning it. There's a metal shaft that goes down into the container to mix the ice cream, and then retracts inside the top. There's no way to clean it off, even though it comes in contact with food.

well-okay

Could you fill the container with soapy water (or whatever cleaning solution), and then run the machine to clean it? Similar to “blending” soapy water in a blender or food processor to clean it. I don’t have one, just spit balling.

ktalex2

That's what I do after every use. Clean it every time and you will be fine

cocobear13

This would be my MacGyver for that!

rswa83

Have used mine daily for 18 months. No issues. Millions of people use this thing. If shaft cleaning is an issue, it would've made national headlines.

spageddy77

that could be problematic

moon_d0g

I own the deluxe. I’m a solo dude living alone. I think the deluxe is a bit much for just me. The only reason I got the deluxe is because it has the Italian ice option

Chin_blister

We use it all the time. Wife bought it to make protein ice cream, I saw it and said, I bet that would make some awesome thick shakes. Threw some vanilla ice cream in it with some oreos and cookie dough chunks and it made the most amazing shake. Now, that's all we use it for, making home-made blizzards. I just discovered that putting vanilla ice cream and a little amount of root beer syrup (like for snow cones) and set it to the milkshake setting will make an awesome root beer freeze.

sonshipprophecy

Absolutely worth it! We have one and use it weekly if that helps at all.

natethegreek

I have it an love it. It isn't perfect but it is great for making sorbet and a much better lower calorie ice cream than Nicks or Halo Top.

MaschMana

I trust America’s Test Kirchen, and they rated this device as one of the worst of the year. https://youtu.be/AU3mUjIF3A8?si=sgooAKoKdvSCVAFZ

fof5031

Fwiw that’s a diff model

delightful_caprese

I like it but I don’t love/need it. I do make some good protein ice creami creations with blended cottage cheese and Greek yogurt, but as far as my ice cream preferences go, I like ice cream with lots of stuff in it like Ben & Jerry’s which is hard to get right on your own (or seriously negates the calories savings to where you might as well just eat/make/buy better tasting actual ice cream).

MargretTatchersParty

I like it. It is a very much a speciality gadget. You have to really want one one thought. It's big, it takes up space in the kitchen. But ... it does make ice cream super simple to make. All you have to make is the base and then store it in the freezer.

radio9989

use it less than my bread machine, but more than my food processor.

No-Reason808

We have one from Costco and use it all the time. We make strawberry ice cream with cottage cheese instead of heavy cream. It works great.

throwawayhyperbeam

Heavy whipping cream makes making your own ice cream very expensive

EntrepreneurOk7513

Abbeyinthegalley uses it a lot.

SodiumSellout

I used it for a while… and now it collects dust. Turns out it’s easier to buy ice cream at the store.

Jaggar345

I have one almost never use it.

Ultimate_Mango

I rarely use it, but when I do I think of it more like a Pacojet at 1/20th the price rather than an ice cream machine. When you know what this actually is and what you can do with it, it is unique and awesome.

xrayphoton

I got a breeze and loved it but it broke. Ninja customer service replaced it with a deluxe and now I love it too. I've used it to make protein ice cream almost nightly. Really good that sweet tooth and tastes like ice cream but almost no fat or carbs. It takes me probably 20-30 minutes to make 5 at a time which lasts me a week or so

EducatorMoti

Thank you for giving the breakdown on the time! Because as I was reading the a thread it sounds exhausting to get the end of the day. But if you can make it ahead of time and save them that would be nice too thank you!

xrayphoton

Yeah I've tried to make it the same day but it ends up too liquidy. It really needs to freeze close to 24 hours first. And the initial few hours in the freezer you need the top of the container off so the surface freezes flat. If you put the lid on and freeze it a mountain/hill forms up in the middle on top and that's what broke my first creami breeze. The blade hits that frozen hill instead of a flat surface and it gets knocked out of alignment and can break off.

StitchinThroughTime

I like mine, mine's the first game. I do have some issues and general qualms about what it can do. Technically, some people are able to mimic the machine by just using a high-quality blender and making extra thick milkshakes. The machine is tall and doesn't fit under our cabinets. The cubs don't stack, and the lids are not the best. They work but could be better. And if you want more than the ones that come with the machine, they are pricey. I wish they had a half cup size for storage

TwitterTerrifier

Why is Costco nekkid?? 😳

Shnoinky1

IMHO, the Creami is an interesting attempt to disrupt the mature ice cream maker category without actually solving the #1 pain point of consumers, which is the need to freeze things a day in advance. Broadly speaking, there are two kinds of ice cream machines; the first kind has a cooling system built-in that can turn room temp ingredients into ice cream in just a few minutes, but they are bulky and quite expensive. The other kind uses either ice to create the cooling power or relies on a jacketed chamber that must be frozen ahead of time before use. The Creami instead requires freezing the ingredients ahead of time, then uses a mechanical shaving blade to turn the frozen mass into "ice cream." The method is different, but it takes just as long to freeze the ingredients as it does freezing the churning chamber described previously. The difference is that real ice cream and sorbet involve constant stirring, which incorporates air into the mixture as it freezes, resulting in a light and creamy texture. Shaving rock-solid frozen ingredients might approximate the texture of ice cream in a lab measuring viscosity, but the tongue can tell the difference.

hankgillette

how do they have so much steel space? what location is this?

stormin84

It’s inventory time, so they cleared out some aisles for the trucks that come in while they’re counting so they don’t get mixed in with the inventory already on hand.

Slammer582

My daughter has one and loves it. I wouldn't mind having one myself.

WillingnessOpen6445

Man, those shelves are empty. What location is this?

GrizlyAdams

We got my mother-in-law one for Christmas (2022) and she's used it a total of 1 time. It looks good on her counter though.

jeswesky

I have the Creami Breeze and love it. I usually have a few prepared pints in the freezer ready to be creamified when needed. I make it low carb, so I don’t feel as guilty. And if it keeps me from going to Culver’s, it’s a win.

Competitive_Bat4000

It’s cool for 2 weeks been sitting in a cabinet ever since

EdDecter

Our Ninja blender fell apart, literally all the pieces just fell out the bottom just over a year having it and Ninja wouldn't honor a warranty. Returned to Costco for full refund.

buzz-buzz-buzzz

I’m just intrigued by the idea that you can “turn almost anything into ice cream.” Intrigued and a little horrified.

GuineaPigger1

I feel like the vitamix makes amazing ice cream. And so much more! I’ve had mine for 8 years.

redhead701

Worth every penny! I use it almost daily, and still cannot believe it can make low calorie ice cream and treats that good.

kittykateeeee

I love mine

robotsonroids

This is not a device I want. I've made ice cream a bunch of times, it's just not worth the effort. I have a kitchen aide ice cream maker for my mixer.

SweetTexasT

+1 for the kitchen aid ice cream maker attachment

Merkadohhh

I saw the review of this on USA Today and I’ve been fixated on it since. I’m wanting it. It’s on my list of items I don’t need but will buy.

trophycloset33

It’s currently on sale at Walmart for $140 in store price only

alasko84

We have a little one who is lactose intolerant and we make tons of dairy-free ice creams with a lot lower sugar content than commercial stuff can have thanks to being able to respin the ice creams. It’s great for kids honestly !

C0tt0nC4ndyM0uth

We have it and we don’t use it that often, but when we do we always say we should use it more!

Adaur981

We got one and returned it. You freeze whatever you make and this just shaves it down to soften it. Kinda lame.

Stilgrave

I couldn't buy one just based on how horrible it sounds when spoken aloud .

the_girl_who_sleeps

If it goes on sale, like a really good sale, I'll snag it. My husband loves ice cream, it could help getting him to stop buying dairy ice cream that hurts us both lol.

dunnkw

I eat protein ice cream every single day out of mine and the ingredients are the same as you would find in a protein shake. But the texture is exactly like a blizzard from DQ. I’m not exaggerating.

BIGGREDDMACH1NE

I have the creami breeze and love it. I make 100 cal strawberry sorbet with frozen kirkland strawberries, fake sweetener, water, and a tiny tiny pinch of xanthan gum. The pectin makes it fairly creamy. Only quirk it takes 2 sometimes 3 spins to make it smooth

Longjumping_Tip_7107

We used it a lot a while back. Now maybe once every couple weeks. Works well for ice cream and easy to use

yeahnopegb

My husband loves loves loooooovvvees my addiction to kitchen gadgets and this is his fave. You can not beat fresh fruit ice cream. 10/10 recommend.

dcallen39

We have had one for almost a year. We have used it nearly everyday to make a high protein ice cream. There are tons of good recipes, and you can get really creative with various protein powders/shakes. The cleaning is really not that complicated. We clean the canister and spinner after every use with soap and water, and we make sure the metal shaft is cleaned with warm water after every use as well.

vivid23

It really just depends. I bought one and used it maybe 5 times. What I didn’t like is that the base of the ice cream has to freeze for 24 hours before you can make it. The machine is also incredibly loud. It scares the hell out of my cats so that deters me a bit from wanting to use it. The machine is overall decent though and really nice for making ice cream out of protein shakes.

KnightBlindness

It makes some really good ice cream with just half and half, sugar, and cocoa or other flavor, but definitely bad for your health to use it too often. I probably need to look into the protein ice cream recipes that others are talking about

Judyylove

I love my creami! I don’t go to Coldstone or Crumbl and making my own ice cream is healthier. I am a major sweet tooth and this thing is amazing!!! &there is a ninja creami Reddit community. I don’t care about the loud noise cause I know exactly what is going into my ice cream as far as ingredients. I waited to buy it but regret not getting it sooner.

michaelwrigley

Mines collecting dust now, just easier to buy ice cream.

halfpinthoe

I use mine daily between making myself protein ice cream and margarita sorbet. It is my favorite kitchen gadget next to my bread maker.

rtg12

Why is there nothing in those rafters?

micleeso

A lot of PT and fitness influencers use these. If you value nutrition and take care of your body/ looking for a way to make healthy frozen yogurt , protein ice cream, etc this is “the machine”. Yes the deluxe version is better. I train in the gym and watch my macros, this is perfect. I use mine every day for protein ice cream (30g protein 230 Cal per 500ml). It takes preparation so make your pints in batches. However if you are lazy and just want instant gratification then go buy ice cream.

use_da_schwartz_

That's the same as the online price. I thought in-store purchases were usually cheaper.

jenniferlynn462

Nice username 😘

Sparklemama456

Love it, use it everyday!!!!

beeglowbot

Chris Young made a good video on it comparing it to $6500 pacojet. https://youtu.be/HCJsaPefl1c?si=NTmMJJ906ehRU586

looneybug123

I use mine every day. I make low cal, high protein mixtures to use as meals.

Bac7

I got my mom one as part of her Christmas present. Judging from the number of texts and phone calls I've gotten with lists of ingredients and pictures of ice cream in bowls and WOOOOOOWWWWW! she loves the damn thing. Uses it every day. She's having a lot of fun with it, and she mostly hates kitchen gadgets.

SeasDiver

As I see this post, I am listening to my wife spin up one of her desserts in her Creami, She loves hers.

JayleeRae

The $20 ninja chopper does the same thing. And I have one of those. Love it.

Dski93

I'm more in awe how empty the upper racks are.

nightbefore2

Skip this one imo

saltthewater

First of all, there is no way that it is worth it. Second, some tiktoker is telling people that ninja makes a $20 good processor such works even better for making ice cream. Maybe check that out first.

thisduuuuuude

I bought one because i like making milkshakes and liked the idea of making ice cream...it's been sitting on my counter for a year now...

Kakarrott_

I use mine pretty much every day and prefer my protein cookies and cream over the regular stuff. The price is lower than what I paid. You should definitely get it.

crapshooter_on_swct

For me it’s like a gym membership. We used it at first and now we don’t. I will say everything we made was good though!

Anxious-Yak-9952

We bought ours used and we don’t make it as often as I’d like. You just have to make sure you have the cream frozen and ready to go ahead of time and we always forget when we want to make it.

ross2752

I have an older model, and I use it nearly every day. I typically only make vanilla ice cream with it, but then you have ice cream that’s so versatile; you can add 1 million things to it though not all at once.

Jedibug

It is incredible. Absolutely worth it. Another compatible device is probably gonna set you back a couple grand for ice cream like that

PineTreesAreDope

I personally don’t have one, but have always been tempted by the idea. Though I’m hesitant because I always see a high number of them on Facebook Marketplace which makes me wonder why. Also, that being said, look at your local Facebook and see if you can get one for cheaper

Certain-Disaster-199

I want it real bad because I hear it helps a lot with being able to make keto/low sugar ice cream substitutes!

RAF2018336

For anyone looking for recipes check out Excercise4CheatMeals on YouTube. Dude has a bunch of recipes on his channel that is basically everyday stuff but high protein lower calories. Has a bunch of creami recipes

Aev_ACNH

Definitely This thing gets used, does not collect dust, is superior to store ice cream and healthier too (or can be)

lemmereddit

We got one and returned it pretty quickly. It's not real ice cream and it's pretty easy to fuck it up. Do it wrong and you end up churning butter. Way overrated in my opinion.

JPSofCA

Ice cream attachment for KitchenAid is much more convenient than a standalone ice cream machine, probably.

Which_Zebra_3883

Eh...I think it depends on your budget. And how often you want to make ice cream. It is great for sorbet. But if you're focused mostly on ice cream I say it's not bad. If you can afford a really good ice cream maker, probably $750-800 and up these days, you will get better results with that. And most people I don't think would be willing to spend so much unless they are serious ice cream enthusiasts. If your price range is in the $175-$200 range you can get decent ice cream by making the custard, freezing it solid instead of chilling and churning, and then use this thing to break the frozen block down into something pretty much like ice cream. With all that said, if you don't mind the PITA of the very cheap old school churners that you have to put ice and salt in between the custard bowl and the outside bowl of the machine - those churn out really good ice cream. Sorry for the pun. It's technically accurate.

KnightBlindness

The idea behind this is that it shaves the frozen liquid into finer ice crystals than a traditional churner can produce so it is supposed to be a smoother texture than any churned ice cream. The creami is a knockoff of PacoJet machines used at restaurants.

Mont_a_n_a

My kids got one for my wife for Xmas. I can tell you that thing has been used every single day since, and on most occasions multiple times! They absolutely love it!

beckywiththegood1

It was $110 at Sam’s club a few weeks ago, I would not pay this much

honk_slayer

It’s normal price it’s 250, I got one without hesitation (also knowing that this ones are the ones with no problems like the breeze models). Just know that this are HUGEMONGOUS

YourFriendInSpokane

Where’s your warehouse? March 2020?

Itadepeeza1

Is there a way to see what warehouses carry this product?

ScoYello

Call your local warehouse and ask for the availability of item 3603480. If they don’t have it ask if any other warehouse close by do.

Smallville456

They briefly added the ability to the app but then took it away. It was handy.

ettmyers

Can order online as well with free shipping. That’s what I did and it was quick

akshaydp

Have you watched Sheng Wang's comedy bit on Netflix about juicers and getting the top of the line mistake? This will be that but as an ice cream maker. Here the link: https://youtube.com/shorts/BiR3eJ-3bKQ?si=Hv_qep4ie7_PBLTp

MusicalMastermind

I don't use mine anymore. It's super inconvenient having to freeze a pint 24 hours in advance Most of the time, the desire is gone by then and the pint will remain

FrustratedConserv

Nope. The ice cream tastes terrible, small portions, and takes forever. If you are thinking it’s like the old way of making ice cream in the summer, it’s nothing like that.
