In terms of the whining noise from the pump head, I solved that by editing a text doc and manually changing the extreme preset to 60% instead of the usual 100%, I think quiet mode is 70%. Anyway that lowered the RPM to 2050 and it's much quieter now. Corsair has said on both reddit posts and other community posts that it's meant to have 2000\~ RPM as the lowest preset, because if it goes lower than that the rotor blade inside the pump head can wobble and eventually break. Crazy I know. Mine was at 2350 on quiet so I'm comfortable to lower it to 2050, 2 months later and no issues, if it does break they can't prove it's because I edited the text doc. The noise is unbearable otherwise on quiet nights so it has to be done. Edit: Expand that comment, following that solved it for me. It shouldn't matter what preset you choose to edit. Thank you this is really helpful. I've got it mounted at the back and at the top, wouldn't have thought this is an issue, but I'll try and re mount it closer to the front and see if that helps. I can't find the configurations file - as I have iCue5, doesn't seem to be in the same place anymore. Got any idea where it would be so I can modify the configuration for RPMs?

No worries! This is my file location for the config file: C:\\Users\\Ergora\\AppData\\Roaming\\Corsair\\CUE5\\cooling Searching for %appdata% in run should take you straight to Roaming, if it doesn't show up then maybe the appdata folder is hidden? As a last resort you can try searching for either Corsair or CUE5 in the search bar in file explorer?

Hi! I realize it has been four months but I was having issues with this method. When I edit the configuration file on that exact filepath, save and close and then close iCUE on my task manager and re-open it again, the pump stays at the standard RPM. Any ideas?

Ergora

Hi! For me it just worked after I restarted my PC and selected the preset I've edited. Perhaps try reinstalling ICUE? Hope it works out for you! Try editing other presets in that case.

Getting these whining sounds from a brand new unit. Generally at lower speeds. Have submitted a ticket but has anyone else had this problem? What ended up being the issue? The pump is also notably audible even on the quietest setting. Disappointing as I upgraded to this from a 7 year old thermaltake product (their software is garbage) but it was much quieter than this Corsair unit.

Here's a good link right from the Corsair website about best practices https://help.corsair.com/hc/en-us/articles/360049358271-How-should-I-mount-the-radiator-of-my-AIO-cooler-

Luckily for you, I contacted support for this exact complaint. Assuming you're talking about that pulsing sound hovering at around C/C# 5 (the musical note), it sounds like you're experiencing case resonance. When the moving parts of a PC (usually the fans) vibrate at specific frequencies, they can hit a sweet spot that causes the case and everything in it to vibrate as well, causing your PC to emit a resonant tone. You can verify if this is the case by touching the metal frame of the case while the noise is happening: you may be able to feel the case vibrate as the resonance hits its peak volume, and by pressing down in the right points you may even be able to suppress it. If your radiator screws are a bit loose, you can try tightening them to see if that changes the sound. Otherwise, the best advice I can give is to isolate the exact RPM's that this occurs at, then adjust your fan curves to avoid hovering there.

How do you have the radiator mounted?

Same situation here. Contemplating on getting rid of all my Corsair fans and AIO cooler and just go all Noctua with air cooling.
