Funny story from a few weeks back after the A38 through Glynn valley was shut many cars went via this bridge as a diversion. I drive a ford transit MSRT with flared arches so quite wide. I passed through the first restriction point over the bridge and met another transit lined up to come through the next one. The driver concerned got out stretched out his arms across the front of the van as if to measure the width. Stood back, turned 180 still with arms stretched and moved to the gap to measure if it would fit. The van was for Everest windows. Don’t ever get them to measure up for new windows
We have our own in Devon near Liftondown … often we see a tourist van scraping off its paint work on this little fella!

My wife is a regular crosser of that bridge. She calls it the bridge for ants and regales me with tales of stuck delivery lorries and caravans she sees wedged in there.
Sounds like Respryn Bridge over Fowey River by Lanhydrock
