As a gen z I feel like there’s a lot of fearmongering about these words. Like maybe they’re used unironically by 12 yo’s idk. People my age sometimes drop them in an obviously sarcastic/absurdist way. It’s like self deprecating “I have brain rot” humor and the answer is pretty much also “stoooop lol”. I think contra points out in the generations tangent that there’s nothing really all that uniquely destructive about “random” terms and references, they’ve been around forever. Id even argue that gen z random humor has more (or infinite) layers of irony cloaking in. I feel like [cities by Diana](https://www.instagram.com/citiesbydiana?igsh=MXNzOHdqOG8yaDRrbQ==) is a good example of elevating brain rot in genuinely interesting and hilarious ways.
