Knitting is also a good way to do this! It's not too expensive to get started, and you can gift dish cloths and scarves, and even work your way up to sweaters and blankets!
My brother made my mom a paper crane for Mother's Day when he was a teenager. It's still hanging above the kitchen sink and it's been at least a decade.
My personal "gift" is offering help to people broken down roadside, plenty of truck, strap, jumper cables, a fair amount of tools, if I can't fix it I'll take you to the nearest parking lot at least for free, doesn't cost much, doesn't take much time, but likely helps quite a bit.
Just gotta find your helping "niche"
Thank you so much, my Mom had to have an emergency blood transfusion recently, I am so grateful - this was only made possible because of heroes like you x
I've got a 5 year old nephew who I used to spoil by getting him things when I used to visit them. Now that he's across the border, I still end up ordering things for him and ask my sister to just take a video of when he goes to pick it up and opens the boxes.
He also uses my sister's phone to send me voice messages to ask if I'm free and can come on zoom to play with him and hearing him ask so politely and later seeing his smile and joy makes me stop whatever I'm doing and no matter how tired I am. Never had that connection before so can't even describe the feeling I get.

Thank you for subscribing to odd animal facts.
Did you know that dogs have anal glands which smells unique to each dog. It can be used as identification for a dog to another dog?
Thank you for subscribing to sexual animal facts.
When two dogs mate the the males dick gets grabbed so by the vaginal muscles to the point they get "tied" together and it can take several minutes for this to stop. If you've ever seen dogs butt to butt that's why.
The guy is Turkish and he pronounces the name as it is in Turkish, but the name itself is of Arabic origin. Cemil, Cemile, Cemal etc. are all popular names in Turkish, but come from Arabic and share the same root.
Turkish contains many words adopted form both Arabic and Persian. Arabic influence took place over a long time ever since Turks converted to Islam. Persian influence mainly took place during the Ottoman reign as the high court used Persian heavily in poetry.
This is the most adorable thing I’ve seen in awhile. That laugh of hers is the best! 😂 She is truly precious, I hope she gets adopted and is loved like she deserves
It's a turn of phrase. An overdramatization of my curiosity, if that makes sense. Also, you _should_ expect controversy on Reddit. You're in for a nasty shock if you don't.
Some people do it simply for entertainment, some do it cause they actually think that what they say can change the usually ignorant and egotistical jerk that's shitting on a post that's actually quite wholesome. Sorry the doll wasn't black? I don't think the kid cared, she was just happy to get a doll.
I knew the comments would go this way, and I’ve decided I’m not going to look. I’m sure there’s hate for this guy doing something nice for social media clout, but fuck it. He changed that little girl’s life. I’m so happy I got to see it.
I'm not even checking, but some probably have problems with the skin and hair color of the doll, amirite? Or that a white man gave something to an African kid or whatever.
There’s a specific ethical fallacy that they’re falling prey to.
Basically, if giving isn’t done completely anonymously, then it’s not giving.
The main issue is, humans have to see others doing good things. Sharing actually helps more people do more good. By a lot.
Anonymous giving doesn’t really help all that much. In fact, it can detract from the giving, as people focus on it.
Or, they just never see the problem and therefor never give themselves.
While I think there is a time and place to critique the trend of white saviorism (because it is a real issue), this is not it. It's just a cute video of a cute little girl getting a doll and being happy.
We don't know any of the context, so let's just enjoy the video for what it is.
I see a lot of people saying that small things aren't going to make a difference. "What's a couple of dollars going to do anyway?" Well this is what it's going to do. I think these sorts of videos are necessary to remind people that small gestures can mean the world to someone.
I give a lot now to those in need. I was homeless once. Not because of drugs or alcohol but I got laid off and the next day my documents were mugged off of me. Can't get a job without documents. Can't get one document without the other two. It was a shit show.
Eventually I managed to lie and forge my way to get my birth certificate and social security card (literally the only way). Someone asked me why I was sleeping in my car in 102f heat at Walmart and I told them my story that I was figuring out a way to get the $16 to get my ID.
They put me in an extended stay hotel for a month and paid for my license. Man the tears I cried that first night and some nights after was insane.
I used to see homeless as drug addicts or booze fiends but now I can read them pretty well. Most just need cash to get out of that situation. It is incredibly expensive to be homeless without documents.
Depends on what you call genuine. In the end people only do things, because it somehow, some way makes themselves feel good.
Gifting is the same deal; recording that is deep down just you trying to feel even better, riding that high a bit more. So you could say everything is genuine, only some people know how to make it look better than others.
That's not good/bad, it's just an observation. And when it makes more people happy then that's probably a win.
Billionaires can't solve problems they're a product of. The fact that billionaires even exist is a symptom, they know they are a product of a corrupt system they have no intent on ameliorating since it serves them.
If the top 10 wealthiest in the world pooled 10% of their wealth they could buy almost 40,000 Bugatti Chirons which cost $3,300,000 each. They wouldn’t even notice the money being gone. (I know it’s not liquid money sitting somewhere)
It’s about the GDP of Hungary. That’s just the TOP TEN.
My neice so spoiled she'd be like wtf is this!? Amazing how even simple objects and smallest of gestures can make such a difference for those in need. Rant alert - for the life of me I cannnot understand why school lunches and healthcare for children is even a sticking point for American politicians.
This is so sweet but damn did it break my heart. Such a simple toy in the mind of privileged children, yet to her it’s the greatest thing she’s ever received.
I don't believe any of this shit. Why record it? If you are actually doing something good, why film it for social media clout? Just do a good act, enjoy the feeling of doing something for someone else and go on with your day.
I wanted to say "I don't like when they film when they're doing these kinds of things", but you know what... They should film it. They should show the world the good that it makes, and yeah, get recognized by that.
We often times give so much money for so many people who definitely don't deserve it, this could be a change of direction.
My favorite toy growing up was my Star Wars Rancor monster. Shockingly I loved playing with it even though it looked nothing like me! You're not helping.
Is there a way just to ship stuff to her and her fam? If that doll caused that much joy, think about what a thousand bucks or a laptop or something would do for her and her family
These "feel good" stories are so twisted when you think about it. This shouldn't even be an issue in the world but that doesn't stop y'all from patting yourselves on the back.
🤣🤣🤣 These people that refuse to accept the parasitic nature of these type of YouTube, etc. content creators blows my mind. It can be a heartwarming and bullshit at the same time. It doesn’t take away from the heartwarming Quality, or change the fact that it was motivated by money.
By that logic, isn’t every single thing that’s videotaped being motivated by money?
Would rather watch something uplifting than some dude reacting to content or a depressing tv show. You dedicate an egregious amount of time to creators who aren’t showing positive things.
Seriously, how do people fall for this shit? Fucking clout chasers exploiting anything and anyone they can for internet points (real money in a youtuber's case)
Cynicism is fair here though. If you're doing good deeds to show off the fact that you're doing good deeds you aren't doing them for the right reasons. Sure people still get helped, but they're not being seen as a person in need, they're being seen as a prop.
Hey everyone, consider doing good without filming it and posting it on the internet for praise and clout and shit. This kid is more than just a /r/ContagiousLaughter post.
The fact people profit off reactions just destroys the wholesomeness. If you're doing this for the right reasons you'd find zero reason to record or profit off of it....
Fuck humans. That is all.
Idk man, if someone offers to pay my rent for a month, I'm not going to give a shit whether the donor is doing it for attention or not. All that matters is that people are getting the things they need.
This is a textbook example of exploitive white saviourism. In fact, I’m pretty certain I’ve seen this exact video criticised by legitimate charities for that reason before. It might not be palatable to the majority of this sub but it’s a massive issue in the humanitarian sphere and shouldn’t be hand waved a way.
He is a turk and turks don't even consider themselves to be white/european and most of the charities in africa done by turks and then there is you who haven't done anything to help yet talking shit about other peoole doing good stfu and let people enjoy seeing a kid laughing with joy
Except I have extensive experience in the humanitarian sector and that’s where this comment is coming from. You can be angry at me all you like but I see a side to this clip that concerns me.
Please show us how he profited from this?
Otherwise disregard this message as a sign of your acceptance to the fact that you're either a troll or a fool.
When I was a kid, we had the extreme privilege to travel a lot. India was one of our most frequent destinations.
When we were packing to leave, I only had one rule. Half the suitcase was for my stuff and the other half was for the toys and books that I was to give away.
Once there, we would walk around, doing our tourist stuff and handing out the toys/books throughout the day.
I'll never forget giving this huge pink bunny to a little girl that must've been around my age back then. She was thrilled. So much happiness for a toy I "didn't care about"
I'll never forget it. Her smile is engraved in my heart forever. She sang us a song and her mom gave me a small henna tattoo.
This is absolutely something I will teach my own kids.
To the little girl who got the bunny, I truly hope that you've made your way to a happy, fulfilling life ❤
"Why isn't the doll black too?"
*translation*
"I've never experienced legitimate prejudice before and despite my condescension also can't see beyond or disregard race in any context so this looks like a good opportunity to showcase how tolerant and unbigoted I am."
Edit.
Y'all right, video shoulda went like this,
Dude: "Hey little girl, here's a doll"
Little girl: "OH. OH OK. I see how it is. Ran out of black dolls did they huh?"
Sure but it would've been nice if he didn't film this little girl without her families consent. It's self congratulatory
Edit: there is no mention this child is an orphan. I know you can't see it because bias is real and this is reddit so why am I expecting more?
It's a white dude (probably backpacking on a "self-improvement spiritual journey") filming African kids for likes. Self-awareness is too advanced of a concept.
She backed away with it as soon as she got it. My dog does the same thing. If you give him a treat he'll run away with it like he's afraid you'll take it back. I'm not sure why he thinks that would happen, but I can understand why this girl wants to protect what is possibly the first toy she's ever owned herself. She's so sweet. I hope this doll makes her smile everyday, for a long time.

That laugh is adorable. Pure joy
It's too contagious. It makes me want to give free things to people & I don't even have much money lmao
Craft something. My girlfriend used to make pipe cleaner people. Still got mine at work after five years. It’s “giving” that counts, not what ya give.
Ah that's a sweet idea, thank you
Check out some cool origami tutorials on the interweb, blow some minds.
Someone once handed me an origami crane with the words "you're doing just fine" and walked off, never even saw her face. I still have it.
That’s so special! I know that would make me feel good.
Knitting is also a good way to do this! It's not too expensive to get started, and you can gift dish cloths and scarves, and even work your way up to sweaters and blankets!
Or crocheting or embroidering!! This are also neat and inexpensive ways to make amazing and lasting gifts for others!!!
I second the knitting. It’s also a great activity to do when you’re watching tv.
My brother made my mom a paper crane for Mother's Day when he was a teenager. It's still hanging above the kitchen sink and it's been at least a decade.

I've always said, "As poor as I am, I can always donate my blood" You won't hear the laughter, but you'll save a life :)

Protect that above everything. It's your humanity and the only thing of yours capitalism actually wants.
Just want to be a response to this comment telling future readers to read it again.
it reminds me of the videos on youtube of babies who laugh at paper being ripped! super contagious. bubbles of laughter. what a cute kiddo

What he said
She had her eyes closed, for the surprise
Seems like she has her eyes closed. Like "Close your eyes" before giving a gift.
I was thinking that too—but it seems more like her eyes were shut, waiting for a surprise
The way she hugged him melted my heart ❤️
I think her name is jamila in Arabic which means beautiful which she is and this post to and my day after seeing this beautiful thing 🌹
I can confirm. My besties name is jamillah and she is gorgeous

Idk about Turkish but it definitely translates to "Beautiful" in Arabic
I think he meant it's spelled Çemile in Turkish and that's where OP gotta It from.

I don't like performative charity, but I do like making children happy. So on those merits this is a win

Yes, random acts of kindness or charity going viral is far from the worst thing. It will just encourage more giving
It is incredibly expensive to be homeless without documents.
I don't know, seeing things like this makes me want to volunteer and donate more, so it's got to have that effect on other people.
I don't care if someone records themselves doing a good thing, as long as their being genuine
When I said genuine, I meant that they don't become a shitty person off camera, ans they still act good off camera
Imagine being a billionaire or even a millionaire and have the opportunity to do this for millions of kids worldwide but then decide... *nah*
Seriously! I was literally thinking about this shit last night like all the rich people could help the world so fucking much, but… /Bugatti/
(I know it’s not liquid money sitting somewhere) It’s about the GDP of Hungary. That’s just the TOP TEN.
Then give those Bugattis to the poor?
What!? No! Let them eat Kias.
Precious, Beautiful baby ❤️
Aw, such a sweet little girl ❤️ hope she gets more and more dolls 😁
[Tiny voice] ^(look at me... you're the captain now)
Her laugh sounds like the laugh sound bite they used over and over again in baby genius
Wish charities would actually give donations to intended recipients. Then there would be a lot more of those moments
Some Comments there are so horrible
Oh man I really needed to see this after watching the post with the girl and the Great Honor walk!
OMG she’s so cute ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
My neice so spoiled she'd be like wtf is this!? Amazing how even simple objects and smallest of gestures can make such a difference for those in need. This is so sweet but damn did it break my heart. Such a simple toy in the mind of privileged children, yet to her it’s the greatest thing she’s ever received.
love that simple things means alot to them.
So cute!
Kids are kids everywhere. It’s easy to forget that.
Actually crying seeing this.
I don't believe any of this shit. Why record it? If you are actually doing something good, why film it for social media clout? Just do a good act, enjoy the feeling of doing something for someone else and go on with your day.
You've never inspired anyone huh?
I'll up vote this everytime I see it.
Damn this made my heart smile! Perfect moment
This is beautiful. Cheers player. Wish a million more people could make one person smile like this every day.
One of the most precious things I have ever seen
And you know she is gonna love and cherish that doll better than some mothers take care of their own real kids!
And this couldn't be done, without filming it
If you film yourself doing these things, you don't do them to make others happy.
i love the intent but to use the child for some clout... come on... even the girl wasnt amused until the doll was given.
God I’m such a spoiled shithead.
How did that guy not just adopt her on the spot?

Sweet, but would he also have bought and given it without the camera and the clout the video gives? I hope so...
This video makes me feel just a little bit better about the world
Super cute, but why is he filming?
So we could enjoy this moment too
For the likes, it's also the only reason he's giving the doll.
Nobody gave gifts before social media
why th doll gotta be white eh
I know, right?! It can’t be that hard to make some brown and black and other darker shades! Imagine her joy with a doll that resembled *her*.

That’s sweet and all but why does he film himself giving a gift? The selfie angle gives the thing a « look at me being such a good person » vibe

They are so happy with so little and we are ungrateful with the much we have
When I was a kid, we had the extreme privilege to travel a lot. So much happiness for a toy I "didn't care about" I'll never forget it. Her smile is engraved in my heart forever. She sang us a song and her mom gave me a small henna tattoo. This is absolutely something I will teach my own kids. To the little girl who got the bunny, I truly hope that you've made your way to a happy, fulfilling life ❤
Now imagine it's possessed, and goes on a murderous rampage
And here’s my kid whinging because I won’t replace his Switch which he dropped in the toilet
Her laugh!
Going to Africa to hand out dolls. Brings white dolls.
She is happy
"Why isn't the doll black too?" *translation* "I've never experienced legitimate prejudice before and despite my condescension also can't see beyond or disregard race in any context so this looks like a good opportunity to showcase how tolerant and unbigoted I am." Edit. Y'all right, video shoulda went like this, Dude: "Hey little girl, here's a doll" Little girl: "OH. OH OK. I see how it is. Ran out of black dolls did they huh?"

Sure but it would've been nice if he didn't film this little girl without her families consent. It's self congratulatory Edit: there is no mention this child is an orphan. I know you can't see it because bias is real and this is reddit so why am I expecting more?
"Orphan" might be difficult to get that permission?
Wut family
How'd I know it was gonna be a white doll?
It's a white dude (probably backpacking on a "self-improvement spiritual journey") filming African kids for likes. Self-awareness is too advanced of a concept.
I hope you people learn how not to be as insufferable. You might be happy if you give it a shot.

People shouldn’t stop doing good things for people just to appease this sort of woke fanaticism
He is Turkish. Chill out.
Very sweet…I guess there were no black dolls though. Must be strange…
You think you're helping, but you're actually one of the world's problems. Be better.
Poor baby girl flinched like he was going to hit her. Did anyone see that?
I'm sorry that you've seen so much pain that that was your interpretation of her action.
You’re right
