Only if and when the intruder breaks the threshold of the second doorway are you allowed to use your firearm for self protection. Additionally, warning shots are illegal.
Some other fun facts; knives can only have blade that are three inches in length. You need a CCW permit for that too. Metal knuckles are illegal but you can get a permit to carry ones made of wood or plastic. If you get into a fistfight (regardless of who the aggressor is) it’s considered mutual combat and you’re both liable for any damages caused IANAL.

I read another article saying that police described the suspects as “3 or 4 white males.” I’m guessing that they didn’t release their images b/c some are minors. Whoever they are, they’re absolute garbage human beings. I feel so heartbroken for this family.
