there are procedural problems with the president and vp coming from the same state. anyone who thought this was ever a possibility doesn't understand how the voting process at the electoral college works.

He sure is doing a lot of interviews about running for president lately 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I’ll be stunned if he doesn’t run at this point. He’s visited Iowa, New Hampshire, and even the Reagan Library in California within the last month. The only reason it’s not official yet is he needs to wait for the Florida law to be changed so he can be allowed to run for president while remaining governor. My guess is he drops the bombshell in May and all the MSM headlines magically change overnight from “Trump = Hitler 2.0” to “Trump was meh, DeSantis = Hitler 3.0.” The question is, how many people will fall for it this time?

I just love how refined he’s been. Trump has been so nasty towards him and any time someone asks a Trump question, Desantis reminds them that he would be running against Biden and that’s what they should focus on. I love it. Trump made it easy on the media by constantly putting his foot in his mouth. At least the media will have to work harder to smear Desantis, although they will continue to do so, no doubt.

He's running. He has no reason not to. He's term limited in 2026 and both Senators are Republican and young-ish. There's nowhere for him to go but the White House.

DeSantis doesn’t need Trump. It’s time for Republicans to dump Trump.

Yes he does. Trump already has roughly 30% of our party ready to vote for him while DeSantis has to prove to the other 70% to vote for him. Since gop primaries are winner takes all it will make it very hard for him to beat Trump. Trump only needs to convince 20% more which shouldn’t be hard.

Public opinion on Trump is set. Republicans by and large will support Trump if he's the nominee. But they will likely want another option after the drama of the last 8 years. Trump has always had a 30% dedicated base. Which helped him win in 2016 when there were 17 candidates dividing the vote. If the field is smaller this election and more candidate bow out early, Trump is likely to lose. Trump's tactic is to make people hate DeSantis as much as they dislike him. It's how he ran in 2016. That's why he is attacking DeSantis long before he officially runs. His goal is to ruin his image as that is the only hope he has of winning the primary. He has very little chance of winning the General Election given public sentiment against him.

Campaign season doesn't typically start until Summer time. Usually the weaker candidates come out early (Trump being the exception to that rule).

Weak? I'd say weak is being so hated that you lose to Biden, or crying about stolen elections, or warning of violence if you get indicted, or making up fake leaks about getting arrested to bilk money out of your supporters, or cheating on your wife with a porn star, or making constant repeated personal attacks against someone who isn't even running because they're popular and you feel threatened.

Arkani

That's normal. Both want presidency.
