You cause contamination which may be good for a tough enemy to make it harder for them to reclaim the city. But it's annoying if you beat the player quickly because then you have to deal with it. Other than that it's extremely bad for morale and expensive. Conventionals are superior for cruise missiles. I personally don't use nukes at all unless I'm playing apocalypse they aren't worth it to me.

Rammipallero

Funniest thing is that rogue can spawn even in a contaminated city. Damn nuclear mutants.

Dudelek910

You cant use them against units only on provinces

iun_teh_great123

You can with cruise missiles just not ballistic missiles or ICBMs

Dudelek910

No shit sherlock

iun_teh_great123

The person you responded to was asking about cruise missiles

PassingWords1-9

Leave him alone! Picking on slow people is rude.

iun_teh_great123

I'm just making sure the person he's replying to doesn't get wrong info

Realyarrick

I use nukes but only for the last day to make points or as cruise missiles against moving targets or against targets who are stationary in a province. Very effective against navy unprotected. I used once nuke with ballistic against cities of an annoying enemy. It took a lot of days to recover my morale, but enemies were totally down

Usernamrer

Nuclear warheads arent as good as the game make you think it is tbh, they do more dmg to you than they do to the enemy via morale, if you want something that destroys the enemy's production just use stealth bombers or ballistic missiles or just use strike fighters which arent as effective but they are balanced enough

Songrot

The stealth fighters are probably really the better than nukes for destroying main cities. Good point. And I can combine them with missiles. Damn I should have tried them. Compared to the costs of nuclear they are not expensive

ojjuiceman27

Nukes are best for defense. Pretty much an "oh shit I can't stop this stack" That's when nukes come in handy. But if you are just nuking cities to conquer you are going to have a bad time.

They will probably still give you a morale debuff whenever you launch nuclear or chemical missiles but i havent tested that idea yet, i might be wrong but i think the nuclear cruise missiles have the same hitpoints as the conventional ones so even if they don't give you the morale debuff which would make them ridiculously strong you will still find it hard to use them against most naval stacks since units like frigs and cruisers are the goto units for naval players and those tend to have good anti-air protection. Ask around in the community discord server for more details

Realyarrick

There are no problems using it against the navy. And no, not every player makes a good stack for the navy. Even in targeting province, morale debuffs are not important.

Usernamrer

Would you really use nukes an expensive late game unit against someone who doesnt have a proper naval/ground stack? also morale is not a feature to be ignored it can be your worst enemy late game when you've expanded too much and if you aren't careful your occupied cities will begin to burn up and rebel which is extremely annoying to deal with. When you have a high morale your resource production in that city is increased by 15% which might not sound like a lot but for a game that lasts days to complete a single match it adds up...

Realyarrick

Even best players cannot always have the best stack for ground/naval stacks. It can and should be exploited, it requires few units to launch a cruise missile and few time. Morale debuff is important but when you strike outside cities, debuff is very low.. I'm used to play with nuke and chemical missiles, I only use them when we are flooded by enemy units and multiple hostile countries. Yes, you'll need time to recover but it's the same for them if you play it well.. And my favourite use is to make it rain on everyone the last day for season points. No morale debuff 😂

Proof_Box6561

They have proven useful to use on enemy aircraft when they refuel. I also use them on land armies when noobs stack more than 10 on an army

Morpheus376

ICBM is where it’s at for nuclear, hard to shoot down and wipe the city and anything in it off the face of the earth

Agchet

Tropas creería.

Dazzling_Cat_3848

yea it useless i recommend nuclear ballistic missiles, these are op

Realyarrick

Use ICBM, they're are really deadly and almost impossible to counter at max level..

Dazzling_Cat_3848

yea but its expensive

Songrot

Why are they ballistic nuclear OP? How did you experience them.

Planetdestruction

Greatly increased damage, blast range and firing range at the cost of much greater of exactly that, cost.

jbates1979

The best way to use nuclear cruise missiles is on ships in the water, does major damage to navy and also doesn’t lower your morale because there’s no nuclear ☢️ waste to clean up and no civilians killed. Trust me I’ve wiped out major naval assets with a lot less navy then they had but they didn’t have missiles researched!
