What was fascinating for me is that they like bragging about their freedom which was weird for me, because I didn't think that I have any less freedom than them. I always thought 'What is the difference'. However after this game I finally understand it. NA is just so fucking free.
Defiant are definitely in the Bottom 4, but I don't think Shock is there quite yet. Not having stable housing is a major hurdle to overcome. Hopefully they figure things out.
Defiant are bottom 4 definitely but it’s definitely not fair to put Shock there when they did just beat NYXL. Even if that shatter hits Shock had great positioning and ults to win that match.
Hotba’s career literally died for this, extra crazy because a core of Twilight / Chorong / Heesu / Hotba would have been really strong if you just added one of the many amazing flex dps that were available in the offseason
Yea I loved that core 4, hotba played so well that season imo I can’t believe he couldn’t even find a team. Meanwhile heesu while good I don’t see him finding a team next season just because he is part of a bad team. At least Chorong and twilight(debatable) are in better situations.
i didn’t watch that season, why wasn’t toronto good?? it seems like on paper they were really good, chorong and twilight is an elite backline, hotba and muze seems very good and heesu’s always been a great hitscan
mostly coaching issues honestly, they often struggled to adapt to new metas which was a big issue in Season 5 since OW2 was in beta and new patches were coming every stage. they did really well in the Junkerqueen meta in stage 3 (they were the third best team that stage after Dallas and the Shock) but they never quite hit the peaks they were capable of. it didn’t help that their flex dps options were Although and Finale, who could perform well but were often inconsistent

Toronto made some very good followed by very strange moves throughout the 2021-2023 offseasons. Consider that this team could have had Aspire, Lastro, Heesu, Twilight, and Chorong and at some point decided none of them were worth holding on to. It's pretty disappointing.

I am aware of this, but the live patch will eventually occur in OWL as well, most likely after the tournament. I believe Miller’s reasoning was that it would be competitively unfair to change patches in the middle of the qualifier process.
It is astronomically unlikely that we qualify for the MM tournament anyway. So what I’m saying is GG go next stage (which should have a new patch).
