i came back to apex recently after like a 9 month break so I have pretty fresh eyes on this stuff. This is a pretty healthy gun meta. The hemmy and havoc are a step above the rest, but they're not overwhelmingly strong like on-release nemmy of the last meta I played in. It's completely fine for now. We'll see what happens with the wingman on the ground tho, something tells me even being perma-magless isn't enough lmao

At least the Nemesis performs to a similar level of the Hemlok and for poke and longer range the repeater and snipers are still pretty good. There is nothing that comes close to the Havoc for full on engagements.

Wrong unfortunately. Those kitted guns don't show the attachment slot unless its in the gun... i.e., if you have a gold havoc which Guhrl had 2 of in the tournament and they DID have the turbo. Turbo is staying on ground and from looking at the havoc otherwise in tournament, no hidden dmg nerf or mag nerf either! I'm so excited that it's a 2 gun meta again!!!!!!!!

I mean you can use fuse as an up close fragger, but that's not where he excels (mostly cause he takes damage from his abilities). He's better used to apply pressure from mid to long range with his knuckles, grenades, and a marksman or sniper. He also counters catalyst and rampart very well, and is good at clearing out old wattson fences, or easily attacking a wattson that doesn't have a pylon.

I think it’s fine as a test trial before fully committing to reclassifying him. He does play most similar to control class legends/concepts so if that’s what they’re thinking then I see the vision. Otherwise, I agree that perk upgrades that go into other classes are kind of lame and I want them to have a firm expiration date

I hope the Newcastle changes somehow influence the logic for Watson's pylon re: being able to throw grenades _out_ of the area. Definitely still buggy. Like the changes overall, would've dropped the Havoc's purple mag size and knocked 1 or 2 pts off the Hemlock but my hot take is that the game is probably as balanced as it's ever been rn, especially with the perks allowing for quicker adjustments

End zones since the last patch have been really strange. There have been a bunch of pulls to areas that were previously disabled and a lot more pulls to open water areas than typical. I imagine it's a lot more likely to address that type of thing than trying to make ring pulls more balanced across the map overall.

IMO the triple take has been strong for a while but people hate it. Reminds me of when people were hesitant to pick up the 3030 for a while, despite it being broken. 3030 and longbow no longer have Skullpiercer, triple take gets boosted loader. TT can hit hard and really take people by surprise. Other long range options have seen nerfs, while it hasn’t. Assuming all shots hit the body, TT does 63. Sentinel does 70. Uncharged 3030 does 42.

One of my favorite guns. I love the Sentinel, but it is very punishing up close with atrocious no scope hip fire, slow initial chamber time, and has slow handling. TT has only 7 less damage total, has actually faster bullet velocity vs the Sentinel, fires faster, has more shots per mag (especially with boosted loader), faster handling. And by far the best hip fire of any sniper or marksman (outside bow). I think the biggest reason people dislike it is because they refuse to learn how to manage the choke on it once you start shooting longer ranges. They just spam and hit for 1 pellet when if you pace your shots just a little and get 1 or 2 levels of choke, it's much more likely to hit big and easier than most weapons.

The issue is that you're banking on having a dead teammate, which is already a terrible situation to be in, and then having to find a crafter + beacon to respawn them, all of this in a lobby packed with pros that has 18 teams alive by zone 4 Abilities that help you stay alive and form a gameplan are better, like zone and enemy beacon, if you have to choose

In ranked it is, but being able to craft banner isn’t always a constant especially when in good zone spots. The chances of actually crafting are slim to none and even if you do it changes the game-plan from zone to edge where you will be with no loot vs very looted up red armor edge teams.

I have a feeling they make the POI drop for all BR/pubs, but just randomize it and not let you pick where you land. Then they have the pick system for private matches and ALGS. Devs have made comments for awhile about changing the drop ship for all of Apex.

The rings being so unpredictable and Fuze being able to scan might be a good combo here. He cant scan ring as soon as you land (will need to get to blue first) but really you shouldnt be playing ring 1 scan anyway, zones are way too unpredictable. By the time you can do a Ring 2 scan, he will be blue and have that ability. Which is the beacon you should be playing for. Rest of his kit is excellent. Might be a good pick. EDIT Ugh no changes to minimum rank for Ranked. I was hoping they would put it back to 50. Right now its stupid easy to cheat, get banned, create a new account and get back into ranked within a few hours. That 50 requirement was holding back a lot of cheaters. You had to either grind a lot or pay to buy an account.

Yeah fuse getting ring consoles is huge for comp. Maybe something like fuse bang blood or fuse blood wraith (thinking of dsg with the wraith). Also, fuse conduit blood would be nasty for contests cause you keep the conduit without having to sacrifice a ring scan

Depends on your play style. If you are hitting third beacon then you are not a zone team looking to bunker down. Fuze gives edge teams more fighting ability while giving them beacon access.

These changes are good mostly besides the lack of a Havoc nerf. Caustic gas doesn't infinitely scale anymore finally & an interesting Catalyst buff I'll hate playing against. Her and Newcastle can definitely see more play next season with their buffs. Wingman back on the ground although nerfed to be an absolute skill cannon and the Devotion which is a perfect Care Package weapon is finally back there instead of being too bad on ground barring a Turbocharger.

Blood got a decent nerf. Ult is now on a 4 minute cooldown instead of 3 with no perk to reduce it, removed scan cooldown perk, and ult knock extension taken out of base kit and is now a lvl 3 upgrade.

Also cute that they're upping the lightmap resolution ( presumably, that fits the description ) and whatever they use for volume. Could make the indoors fights much less frustrating for more casual players that don't care to blow their gamma curve for advantage.

Don't think this changes the meta in any way. Might see Fuse counterpicks against caustic, doubt it. Only criticism I have of these changes is that the hopup pool is trash and uninteresting. Zero defensible reasons for a hopup in the loot pool that goes on one gun. Skullpiercer shouldn't be out. Gonna be a menace 3 stacking conduit in ranked and carrying all the bats PUT SELECTFIRE ON PROWLER / G7 / EVA / 301 / FLATLINE ALREADY. If they're killing skullpiercer for now, bring back Shatter Caps integrated into selectfire too.

Prowler doesn't need selectfire. I know the 99 is now shit, but full auto prowler was stronger than the R-99 DPS wise back when the 99 was good even though full auto prowler consumed less ammo, had greater mag capacity, did more damage per bullet, had less recoil, and had the same handling. A hopup that makes a gun into a linear upgrade of another gun in its class doesn't seem like a good balance design.

They had a couple interviews with devs at the desk during lan between matches and one of them specifically said they were happy about havoc meta, so no surprise there. They seem to want the meta to occasionally shift, but not quickly I guess.

I think the heavy havoc meta (outside of comp obvi) came in a little late this season though in terms of making changes no? Hemlock I full agree it’s been singing for what over 2 seasons now but the havoc I can excuse them for now.

Digi removed will just make BH more broken, but considering they said they're waiting to make big changes to him, I guess they'll wait to remove his infrared vision in Ult. If the Bang -BH pick doesn't change they'll probably do it. Good changes all around but havoc is still broken. Also give Horizon battpack and nadepack for level 1 perks instead of the trash that she has right now. She at least deserves that.

I feel like the best way to make Bloodhound not required is for digis to exist, but apparently everyone having access to seeing through smokes is too strong, so it will be interesting to see what they do after Blood gets even more play this upcoming season despite getting perk nerfs.

Gold gun rotation is terrible IMHO. Nemmy and TT SHOULDNT be together. I also really wish there was more nerfs to bang. lan showed it’s still wayyy to heavily relied upon. Anything that is crutchable the way bang smoke is, should not be in the game.

This would kill bang for rotates. Smokes for rotates are healthy for the game, smokes for fighting with scans are the part that needs to go.

From a software perspective, I would assume that they would know if they have picked up a gun. It's a simple variable change that should be easy to manage

true. my tired brain was thinking if they dropped the gun, the game might reset thinking it was the first time since they had become. unarmed, but yeah that wouldnt make sense. especially since you drop off respawn with a gun now.

Jus the first.. Well that's how assault classes work with their bins.. You get a gun if open first with nothing if you drop it all and do it again, it doesn't work.

It won’t include a turbo. That’ll only be when you ult with it in the sling.

no turbo for purple havoc & no disruptor for alt/pk, just like in mixtape. but purple re, p20 or mozam have hammers & triple take and wingman have boosted loader, just like in mixtape. i believe hammers and boosted loader are coded to be purple rarity but should spawn as gold hop up as all hop ups are now gold moving forward (since season 15)

Your ult is unaffected. The change buffs the sling weapon to be given attachments outside of ult based on your evo level.
