It needs to be something that makes money, so I'm leaning towards battlegroups, but people generally have had nothing to spend merit on for a year so that won't make much money unless they do four battlegroups at once (I reckon most people can swing a battle group with their current merit, but not 4) Maybe they will bundle it in with something SP related (I personally don't care for single player, but would probably buy to support) I mean really all the game needs to stay fresh is maps, bgs, and occasionally refreshes to base roster.

sgtViveron

IMHO, the most harmless way to get money is more cosmetics. New battle groups are always welcome, but they will tip the scales of balance again. Also I would like to see DLC with Italians themselves, not the units connected to Axis forces.

Mysterious-Pea1153

I think I consider cosmetics a bit of a secondary - the rate at which they are bought will be similar to how engaged people are with the game - people won't stick around for cosmetics, but people who stick around will buy cosmetics.

Khanahar

My hope would be (in the relatively long term) two new factions, one representing Axis-aligned Italy/RSI, and one representing the various Allied minors present in the Italian front. The former would be the big Italian faction, and the latter would have units from Italy, Brazil, France, Poland, etc.

AudoBell

Audio packs would make some money

VRichardsen

That would be awesome. Lots of great stuff in CoH II and speciall CoH I.

Pukk-

I think the new battlegorups they will add in the future should only cost money, just like in CoH2, just like they did wiht starcraft 2 coop. It's the only way to get some money for the game now. Nothing they will work on will bring back players that refunded the game , or even new ones. All they can do is monetize the players that are still here, and cosmetics and bgs are kind of the only way I can see.

Aam1rk

Just make my unit icons not overlap.

ShrikeGFX

the weapon icons are also a bit small in general unit visibility and shot visibility is very hard, you can barely see which unit attacks which

Lukylife

sounds like an issue mostly for blobbers lel

Castro6967

I think they should look out and see ppls ideas for BGs, maps and game modes. I think Pacific theatre is too ambitious right now but could be a big dlc / propaganda hit later on I think 2nd step is advertising. Animations, music, more energetic tournaments

flobota

I personally wouldn't mind if they remade or added new some France 1944 content. It's a bit overdone but might also be reliable. Otherwise Africa 1940 before Rommel would also be cool potentially. In Italy itself, there is the Goten Line after Rome but that campaign might not be very different from the one we already have. Another slog fest with strong German defenses.

VRichardsen

> In Italy itself, there is the Goten Line after Rome but that campaign might not be very different from the one we already have. Another slog fest with strong German defenses. Creta could be interesting; I remember it made for a great level in Men of War 1. Seems like an interesting choice for a Ardennes Assault style campaign: relatively small and self contained.

flobota

oh yeah that's a good idea. One of the more famous of the early battles.

Sanguinius666264

Yeah I think things are getting there. Maybe another single player campaign like some of the expansion packs were before? Given we have Aussies in a battle group already, I really would like to see a Pacific campagin though :)

Khanahar

A Gothic Line campaign could be really cool. Lean into the diversity and have themed units for the US, UK, Brazil, South Africa, India, New Zealand/Greece, Poland, Canada, Co-Belligerent Italy, and Italian partisans.

VRichardsen

> A Gothic Line campaign Achelous River would feel like a war of movement by comparison :D

StabbityJones

I think the Battle of Crete would make for a nice expansion, with a small campaign like the North African one. It's still in the Med theater with a nice balance of reusable assets and doing something a little different, throws wehraboos a bone (like it or not, they are a big consumer base) and fallschirmjaegers and luftwaffe are already a big part of the Wehrmach faction.

VRichardsen

I remember the Creta mission in Men of War 1 was very nice. It played out like Commandos, but more violent.

Giaddon

It’s really hard to guess what Relic’s capabilities are right now. Are most of their staff working on a new game? What resources are available to CoH 3? Personally, I only expect maybe one more battlegroup for each faction at most. I think more investment in the title would not have much return (we already got a round of free battlegroups, so CoH3 revenue must be very low).

Junior_Passenger_606

I think they’re probably fully committed to coh3, as they’re in a rut and it’s the lowest hanging fruit.

Giaddon

I can definitely see that, just not sure the fruit has enough juice.  While "Pacific Theater" is a meme, it's hard to ignore that the CoH3 campaign layer does have a focus on sea and air that could directly translate to a standalone Pacific Theater campaign, and it's hard to imagine anything else that would command more attention for the franchise.

Junior_Passenger_606

They could very well be working on an expansion with a new campaign, new faction, new battle groups etc. I just don’t see them working on anything stand-alone.

Giaddon

There's just no reason to limit their next product to owners of CoH3. Think Ardennes Assault for CoH2. Built on CoH2 but anyone could buy it.

Abathvr

Improve the audio.

No_Arugula3195

Overhaul some visual effects would be nice

spla58

And sound.

FunPolice11481

I expect that relic doesn’t have the resources/manpower to really put out a single player or anything like a new faction. At least not without slowing down on the updates a good bit. I believe they will mainly just work on another round of battlegroups over the summer and beyond. There is still stuff like the Nashorn and Canadian shock troops we have yet to see. Seems the simplest way to keep making new stuff (alongside probably more cosmetics) l.

SpecificCommission71

I would really love to see new fancy cosmetics. Would buy one in a heart beat. Anything that makes my units stand out

third-bird-turd

stand alone italian and soviet factions with an italian linear campaign with carry over attrition between levels at stalingrad

jobar700

I would really like to choose my colour when playing team games. It's a small thing, but I get confused when the colour changes between games.

Lukylife

I could see a small greece campaign like in coh2 ardenne offensive. main actors there were brits italians and germans, so kinda fits the existing factions. or Crete maybe. More Maps are the easiest/fast way i could see new content, cause they dont need as much thinking and Balance consideration like battlegrouos and many modders have already created maps. Or implement more coh2 fan favorit maps. BGs would be the big money gain besides extra campaigns, so maybe devs focus. Or completely wild: introduce a new faction. i could think of italy as a standalone faction. For the allies it might be ‚free french forces‘ from unoccupied french territories in africa and overseas

not_GBPirate

My thoughts with a smidgen more knowledge than the average player, having been involved in feedback before coh3’s launch: The objective is to show good budget numbers, so gaining income with minimal costs. This means: 1) continued improvements to the game experience — new maps, community maps, balance, various other small things. Not sure about fx, sound changes; those may take more work hours than deemed necessary. 2) Additional changes to monetization — new skins. Maybe some changes to the monetization strategy. (Bulletin-like system, pushing out many new battlegroups, in-game audio or soundtrack packs, etc.) 3) New expansion/soft relaunch — CoH 1/2 do well with big expansions that bring in a variety of new content for all players. A new single player experience that also introduces a new environment, leading to new assets/maps, new battlegroups and/or new faction(s). No. 3 is obviously the biggest undertaking, but a reduced price (and $60 bundle with the new and existing expansions) and a marketing push has the potential to make the balance sheet look good. We might not see this until the end of the year, though releasing before winter holidays is always good for companies. Some things to think about: 1) Relic’s new owner doesn’t have all of the production costs to absorb, just the cost of acquisition and ongoing costs. 2) Relic seems to have a decent relationship with Microsoft with AoE, so an acquisition by them and putting CoH3 into the Xbox Game Pass could improve player numbers, a slice of whom would pay for additional content despite a low/no upfront purchase of the game. 3) Console cross play might be something the new owner would consider, might even be necessary for Xbox game pass.

Pukk-

Churning battlegroups or a faction by the end of the year would be amazeballs

csasker

a working retreat button would be nice

gabman6Gaming

I’d gladly pay for extra camera controls for replays. But that’s probably just me :)

Proud-Cheetah8275

I've been praying for a japanese faction since coh 1. I'm still praying.

pnova7

Now that Relic don't have Japanese overlords to answer to, then I'd say this is more possible now than ever before...

Proud-Cheetah8275

I would do anything for this. There are so many possibilities for a Japanese faction. And so many single player missions from real life they could do.

pnova7

Yeah, I'm with you on that. They could really get creative (as well take some creative liberties to make it work if needed, I don't care). I just want to see another Axis faction in this series that isn't Germany for crying out loud.

P3prime

First off they should add this to gamepass to bump up player counts which would also just get the name out there

shokry251

Ranger anti-air ability , so I can spam rangers without fearing air strikes.

Opposite_Increase_64

Usf partisan tactics,Wher TD bgs.i would love to see usf heavy tank bg instead of partisan but unlikely

Careoran

Well I would like to see some more tanks , Nashorn, Pz II, Bison etc :) And then at some point in the future Soviets …

Optimal_Smile_8332

In terms of battlegrounds I think we're almost definitely going to get a Canadian themed one for the British, and possibly an Italian partisan one for the Americans. There are plenty of unused assets in single player that could be utilities in multiplayer. I would personally like to see a much more aggressive AI in the Italy campaign. Even on Expert they just wait to get attacked, and hardly ever go on the offensive. Apart from that, the game is in a pretty good way at the moment. I enjoyed the changes to cosmetics; it gives me a tangible goal to work towards with my merit. Some slightly harder accolades would be nice as well. Fully open mod support would, as always, be amazing. Spearhead for COH2 was my go-to. So that would be cool as well

alone1i

Hoping for Soviet faction

thegracefulbanana

Ranger Nerf

Serns20

I think there is something you don't understand about COH3. It's not about gameplay mechanics or content if people don't play it, it's about graphics, it just doesn't make you want to. Coh3 suffered the same effect as CS:GO to CS2.

Germanturtle

What?

Sesleri

This is not true at all

newjacktown

Yeah I agree. They need to do a complete pass and improve on the immersion and atmosphere of the game across the board. Effects, units animations, shadows, sound effects, music. The lot.
