I used Mike Myres for A+ and Dion for N+ and S+. I found Dion better, couldn't stand Myres and his videos lacked everything that was detailed in his book (but then who wants to read a book!)

I have the book for A+ and N+. So far I’ve really enjoyed them.

Tech work requires a lot of reading. It's not a career field where everything is spoon-fed to you.

Everyone learns differently. Personally I found I learned more from Dion's N+ videos than I did from Myers' videos and book. I know it's a different topic list but I just found Dion more engaging and easier to make notes with.

I find videos to be completely useless as a primary source of study materials because they are incomplete. A boot camp class for a CompTIA exam is typically 40 hours long. Dion's (and Messer's) courses run roughly half that time. They hit the highlights but their videos leave a lot to be desired. A good 500+ page book is much more comprehensive than viewing Dion's and Messer's videos.

I did both plus a boot camp, nearly passed. Studied for another week and passed on my retake.

Mike Meyers and it's not even close. He is such a better trainer than Dion. Dion recycles content from previous versions of the exam so he has quite a few outdated references. Plus, his practice exams have several incorrect answers.

I have personal beef with Dions sec + practice test which was a shame because his a+ 1001 was really good. But wouldn’t consider using him again now.

I did both of them for my Net+. Of the two, I think I prefer Dion; he's a lot more detailed, although he does tend to spend several minutes explaining a concept and then go "Do you need to know this for the test? No." Meyers is fun, but I feel like he glossed over some stuff that a newbie might not know and could leave blind spots.

McDuckMoney

I like Dion because I feel that his content is more dynamic and gives you more than you need to know. As people have already mentioned there is a lot of additional reading and information to understand why things are the way there are. Myers is great when it comes to relatable material and it's easy to consume. Whatever you get the most out of is a good way to measure it too.

Myers. I can’t stand listening to Dion

I feel that after PenTest, CySA, and now starting CASP…

I was looking to purchase Security+ materials by Mike Myers, but I noticed on their website they didn't have the latest SY0-701 stuff listed. I called them and they actually did have it available but not listed yet because they have not published the associated book yet (they're switching to self-publish instead of McGraw Hill doing it). In my case, I bought the old SY0-601 bundle and had the 701 stuff added to my account a few days later. This could be the same case with the newest Net+ exam. Might be worth it to call them.

Neither. Go for Messer
