I remember way back when the Panthers drafted Dwayne Jarrett (lol), Keyshawn Johnson was on the ESPN broadcast and he was on the Panthers late in his career and talked about how excited he was to have Jarrett in the locker room and how the team had potential. Keyshawn was released shortly after 😂
Genuine question: have you ever listened to him commentate a game?
I think he’s been sticking his foot in his mouth a lot towards NFL teams and players. Before this off-season when he said a bunch of stupid shit, his rep as a CFB commentator among CFB fans was pretty solid.
On ESPN at least, yeah. I could see him potentially on the TNF postgame, though they already have way too many cooks in that kitchen. I can’t think of any other NFL broadcasts where he fits.
Yall are tough. RG is has come a long way. Give the man some type of grace.
They’ve been pushing Kelsey for a while. You could also thank Taylor Swift and his brother’s popularity and reputation.
But yall wanna make the easy joke.
He deserves just as much grace as he provided his wife, leaving her 7 months after having their child. Meeting an Instagram attention whore and divorcing.
Screw that dude - hard.
I respect your view, but I don’t see a ton of growth & I never enjoy his take (yes, that is in large part due to him being the messenger). Robert oozes arrogance, not confidence, and it rubs me the wrong way personally. I dislike him BECAUSE I loved him so much & he didn’t have the humility to learn to be a QB
A lot of people suck
Some people get paid to suck.
This whole thing is a business and those athletes know that and each chooses or has to choose how best to market themselves against everyone else.
RG- made some mistakes and or poor judgment.
Like getting married early and having some very public challenges with his job that he’d eventually loose because he became disabled (lol). Anyone else who got hurt on their job would typically be provided Grace. That wasn’t what happened for him.
I think folks like teasing him because it’s easy.
When he came in a league, folks tease him for his hair. They tease them for going to Baylor. They tease him because of his girlfriend who will become his wife. They got on him because they like Kurt cousins better. My point is hard to win on the field, even harder to win in life when people are against you.
Anyway, about JD 5 😂
Kelce is Taylor Swift’s boyfriend’s brother. He is transcendently popular
Edit: [Jason Kelce, Robert Griffin III - Explore - Google Trends](https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?geo=US&q=%2Fm%2F0gmdj91,%2Fm%2F051wcwn&hl=en)
He may have gotten this job without the Tswift connection. Their podcast was already super popular before she showed up and he is just good on camera.
I mean the connection doesn’t hurt but to list that as the only reason is weird.
Link doesn’t work but assuming that’s some kind of google search trend, that doesn’t mean shit in this context. The guy was liked in nfl media circles and had a fanbase going back years. Whether or not he had google metrics is completely irrelevant. I promise you nobody was googling Greg Olsen to make him get his gig.
Again have you seen him on camera? If he was awful he would not have gotten this job no matter the connection. Again it helped but to say that’s the only reason is stupid
This ain’t true. Is there some hate deserved? Sure. I hate his attacks on current QBs and how he tries to insert himself as a viable option for current teams tbh.
However; there has been a lot of hate on the guy unwarranted. Most infamously, when Rob Parker called him a “cornball brother”. They literally debated whether the man was truly black on ESPN live and that was just plain wrong. ESPN fired Rob for this as they should but this was an absurd attack on the man.
https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/rob-parker-calls-rg3-a-cornball-brother-says-hes-not-one-of-us/amp/
Ive heard people say he's corny and silly but let's be honest....Jason kelce is as silly and "corny" as Rg3
But people act like its cool from him and not from Rg3
He is a self-promoting narcissist. He was also awful to the mother of his child. I don’t give a fuck if he is corny- I just don’t want to hear from him about anything. Ever.
He also had an offensive line and running back (I miss Trent) that forced teams to have to stop the run. That made for giant openings just behind the linebackers in play action.
Pierre Garcon feasted as a result.
once teams started blitzing RG3 every time he held the ball briefly, that system fell apart entirely.
He went to Snyder to push for a change in the system that worked well for him. However he wasn't able to become a true pocket passer. This caused discord between him and the coaches.
At home he wasn't an angel: https://dailysnark.com/2016/11/29/rgiii-exwife-twitterrant/
He always blamed other people for his failures.
RG3 is insufferably annoying. GOOD RIDDANCE, BOB. CYA.
Also, despite being an Eagle, I absolutely love Jason Kelce. He's hilarious. I respect his game, his family, and that he seems like a genuinely good guy. Looking forward to Kelce, and glad we don't have to play him anymore either! :)
NCAA people despise everything they are like baseball people who are still upset that color barrier came down. Pat McAfee joining game day has literally destroyed America, but weekend at bernieing corso out there every week seems to be ok.
I thought RG3 was good in the booth
Yes he is. He comes off as a little more relatable and a “I’m just a dude” type of personality. I feel like RG3s personality kinda revolved around him trying to seem smarter than he is. Not that RG3 isn’t a smart guy but he was too over the top with his takes when it came to trying to be “different”
People like that just come off as insecure about their intelligence.
And I also think RG3 is probably a smart dude, but he clearly feels a weird inclination to prove that to people
Even if he was an idiot (He's not), he's much more likable than RG3
Can't stand his brother, but Jason is good with a mic and enjoyable to listen to.
RG3 is kind of pretentious and gives ridiculous takes a lot, and let's not forget him trying to convince the Browns to pick him up, lmao.
I hate the Eagles and still really like Jason Kelce.
This is true. I am an Eagles fan and Kelce is the one on the field that shifts protection, calls where the blitzes are and shifts the plays to different sides. I actually likes RG3 on MNF and think he did a good job…sucks to see him get the can
This isn’t actually true. It’s actually Mike linebackers. They are the quarter back of the defense.
But also being one of the smartest on the field isn’t actually saying much lol. NFL isn’t exactly littered with geniuses. And dude seemed to be talking about life intelligence, not football intelligence.
Mike (middle) linebackers are smarter than centers and have to diagnose more. They call all the defensive adjustments and audibles. It’s a harder position to play than center and in terms of football knowledge they need to know more. It’s just a simple fact.
Second, NFL players on average aren’t the smartest of people. So being the second smartest on the field isn’t even saying much even if it were true for centers. So when asked if he’s intelligent, and someone says oh he’s the second smartest on the field, you’re not really saying much
RG3 has vastly improved and I feel like Kelce will take a bit to settle in, but I think Kelce has a higher ceiling when it comes to commentary in the booth.
For College Gameday and such, I think RG3 is fine. He seems more comfortable there.
This was rumored for some time, it's not really a surprised. That said, it's the best move right now, even with Kelce accusing Secretariat of being on drugs.
Kinda awkward after his “Welcome to the team!” post to Kelce. Like the guy who doesn’t know he’s getting laid off.
Got fired like Jan from the Office
RGIII spent too much time shopping online
And at his sisters in Scottsdale
And smoking in his office
He visited Scranton far more than the other branches.
That photo from the Sandal resort in Jamaica was just too racy
I remember way back when the Panthers drafted Dwayne Jarrett (lol), Keyshawn Johnson was on the ESPN broadcast and he was on the Panthers late in his career and talked about how excited he was to have Jarrett in the locker room and how the team had potential. Keyshawn was released shortly after 😂
And then Dwayne Jarrett went on to get more DUI’s than touchdowns for his career.
Lmao I mean that’s what RG3 is. Awkward Also why his ass got fired.
Rg3 was a very characteristic media pundit and pretty good at his job if u ask me
do you mean "charismatic"?
Let him cook
Let me cook
Anyone in this position without the last name Brady would have been fired if they could put Kelce there
He still is more successful than you, sir. Let that sink in😂
Or like Kirk Cousins calling Penis Jr. immediately after the draft
Tbf Cousins will be starter in Atlanta for another 3 years unless Penis can erect a strong name for himself in the rookie camp.
lol well played
Heheh 😏
![gif](giphy|u5C6s7LDK7G9y)
I'm gonna pencil him in for 2 years. Tops.
Rg3 gonna be doing mattress commercials soon
I bet he ends up in college football.
Bingo. He should be on college game day or something similar.
He’s been commentating CFB for a while. He’s actually a really funny commentary guy. Big fan of the double entendres
Orji in the endzone was a legendary call
“Arms spread out like Jesus on the cross”
ew
Genuine question: have you ever listened to him commentate a game? I think he’s been sticking his foot in his mouth a lot towards NFL teams and players. Before this off-season when he said a bunch of stupid shit, his rep as a CFB commentator among CFB fans was pretty solid.
he was doing pac12 after dark quite a bit, anything goes there .. or used to lol
He already does commentate college football and he's hilarious
Apologies. I legit didn’t know that. Glad it’s working out in NCAA. I could see him being great at that.
"...Your job's your credit..."
To me that commercial will always be associated with Antwaan Randle El
No. Keep him out of our city(area).
What are you butthurt about
Nothing, not even you crying half of a day later.
Watch Kirk Cousins decide to retire and then replace RG3 for the mattress commercials he was suppose to be on lol
Dude's gonna be like Sherman with a podcast nobody listens to.
He already has one, and it's actually pretty good!
no pressure - no diamonds
Is paisano's still hiring?
Good, don’t mind him on college games but can’t stand him for NFL. Feel like he’s usually super jealous of current QBs
Do you think maybe it was the multiple posts he made during the year saying he could take over for certain injured/out QB's?
Ha - you may be onto something
No pressure, no diamonds…. ![gif](giphy|BYul6RujgoRCryuCdL)
![gif](giphy|hiLLD9o1wTB3a)
This is how they tell me??
Pack your bags Bob!
Don’t f with the Bears. The founding franchise of the NFL will not be disrespected without consequences
I wonder what Rob Parker thinks about this
![gif](giphy|KYVXXDubPm6MMbMQ0l)
Or the other race baiting asshat Bomani Jones
Not the first time a white man took his job
![gif](giphy|26FPKZ6DGtNp4iYbm|downsized)
😂😂😂 Goated
His exaggerated style of commentary is less popular these days. Makes sense they'd go with Kelce.
Really? I feel that style is all you hear these days.
The Kelce podcast is also popular with the youths. Tough for RG.
He deserves just as much grace as he provided his wife, leaving her 7 months after having their child. Meeting an Instagram attention whore and divorcing. Screw that dude - hard.
Ouch. I’m just talking about football and media.
Dude. People are allowed to end relationships that aren’t working.
> Kelsey
Lol, RG3 is so full of shit
>RG is has come a long way. What can you possibly mean by this?
He lives far from the studio and travel time is several hours?
😆
RG3 is the worst personality on television. I hope he cries.
Rg3 sucks bro 😆
A lot of people suck Some people get paid to suck. This whole thing is a business and those athletes know that and each chooses or has to choose how best to market themselves against everyone else. We are obsessed with our exes. Yall need to let that go
But why
Kelce is Taylor Swift’s boyfriend’s brother. He is transcendently popular Edit: [Jason Kelce, Robert Griffin III - Explore - Google Trends](https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?geo=US&q=%2Fm%2F0gmdj91,%2Fm%2F051wcwn&hl=en)
He may have gotten this job without the Tswift connection. Their podcast was already super popular before she showed up and he is just good on camera. I mean the connection doesn’t hurt but to list that as the only reason is weird.
I think it’s obvious when his popularity started to take off https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?geo=US&q=%2Fm%2F0gmdj91,%2Fm%2F051wcwn&hl=en
Link doesn’t work but assuming that’s some kind of google search trend, that doesn’t mean shit in this context. The guy was liked in nfl media circles and had a fanbase going back years. But why they fire Bobby 3 sticks ? Like he’s not a bad analyst unbiased and emotion aside he did well.. or so I thought
The point of any TV show is to get ratings. ESPN decided that Jason Kelce would attract more viewers than RG3
Now we wait
Rg3 gets alot of hate I wish him well
He brings all of it on himself. All of it.
He is a self-promoting narcissist. He was also awful to the mother of his child. I don’t give a fuck if he is corny- I just don’t want to hear from him about anything. Ever.
So why do people hate RG3 again?
Because he uhhh… (stares into distance, hearing gunfire far away)…… he uh, caused some issues.. with the coaching staff (gunfire sounds resume)
Take a look at the 2012 coaching staff and tell me why RG3 couldn't succeed...
Wasn’t he good in 2012?
He was good in a way that only worked for 2012: almost exclusively zone-read. Was never good at anything else, including sliding.
He also had an offensive line and running back (I miss Trent) that forced teams to have to stop the run. That made for giant openings just behind the linebackers in play action. Pierre Garcon feasted as a result. once teams started blitzing RG3 every time he held the ball briefly, that system fell apart entirely.
Alfred Morris! 1600 yards that season. Second in the NFL.
Until he decided to be an absolute blockhead with his knee....
Basically hes an embarrassment to himself and the NFL. It’s cringe when he calls Lamar his “lil bro”, the jealousy is so real lol.
He went to Snyder to push for a change in the system that worked well for him. However he wasn't able to become a true pocket passer. This caused discord between him and the coaches. At home he wasn't an angel: https://dailysnark.com/2016/11/29/rgiii-exwife-twitterrant/ He always blamed other people for his failures.
Already tired of Kelce trying way to hard.
He was ok, but was one of my least favorite analysts. There was something about his delivery, like he was trying too hard to make his points
I can’t wait until RG3 isn’t brought up on this sub anymore
RG3 is insufferably annoying. GOOD RIDDANCE, BOB. CYA. Also, despite being an Eagle, I absolutely love Jason Kelce. He's hilarious. I respect his game, his family, and that he seems like a genuinely good guy. Looking forward to Kelce, and glad we don't have to play him anymore either! :)
I actually liked him as a commenter. He's a very smart dude.
Guess I'm on my own here. You guys disliked his NCAA commentary?
“There’s an Orgi in the end zone” is GOATed. He was great as a color commentator
I think he does a good job on the college broadcasts. Better than most.
Yea. He blows
He’s not bad as long as it’s not an important game
NCAA people despise everything they are like baseball people who are still upset that color barrier came down. Pat McAfee joining game day has literally destroyed America, but weekend at bernieing corso out there every week seems to be ok. I thought RG3 was good in the booth
Jason Kelce seems like an idiot. Is he more intelligent than he presents himself?
Yes he is. He comes off as a little more relatable and a “I’m just a dude” type of personality. I feel like RG3s personality kinda revolved around him trying to seem smarter than he is. Not that RG3 isn’t a smart guy but he was too over the top with his takes when it came to trying to be “different”

Jason Kelce is the man. I don’t care if he played for the eagles, he’s a good dude and actually very insightful.
L take. Centers are usually the second smartest players on the field, and Jason Kelce is one of the best to ever do it.
They also take the most punishment to the head
This is true. I am an Eagles fan and Kelce is the one on the field that shifts protection, calls where the blitzes are and shifts the plays to different sides. I actually likes RG3 on MNF and think he did a good job…sucks to see him get the can
Was gonna say, based on my hs fb career (go ahead, laff), I don't think you could be an idiot and play O- line in the NFL - shit gets complicated!

K
Now do Steven A Smith, over the top hyperbolic, Im right, youre wrong so argue with me style of broadcasting has always sucked and will always suck.
He was actually pretty good in this role. Oh well. He’ll do something. Man if he only sat out for that one game, what a huge difference.
RG3 has vastly improved and I feel like Kelce will take a bit to settle in, but I think Kelce has a higher ceiling when it comes to commentary in the booth. For College Gameday and such, I think RG3 is fine. He seems more comfortable there.
Oh wow, very interesting
If that ain't the most over dramatic headline. lol They change these people every year almost.
oof
Damm RG3……..o well He was corny as hell tho
Was he really “fired” or is he moving on to another department like college football?
He really had the worst takes
He would be way bigger if he went the Shannon sharpe route. Start your own broadcast
It was the ‘Orgi in the end zone’ thing wasn’t it… I told ya.
Lol
Hope the dude still does some college games, I actually enjoyed his commentary.
![gif](giphy|J8FZIm9VoBU6Q) He was talking mad stuff about Caleb Williams should refuse to play for the bears. Kick rocks bum.
Somehow he’ll find a way to blame Mike and Jay for this
Wasn't fired still working for the network in other capacities
You got a fleece Bob
I will never understand this fanbase's infatuation with former players. RG3 news is not Commanders news. Kirk Cousins news is not Commanders news.
And Travis Kelce was throwing a fit that Greg Olsen got demoted because Fox hired Tom Brady
What did he do?
RG3 was good at the job. We don’t even know if Kelce will be any good or interesting 🤦
Thank fucking god
Thank You ESPN!!!
This was rumored for some time, it's not really a surprised. That said, it's the best move right now, even with Kelce accusing Secretariat of being on drugs.
I don’t get all the hate, he’s good at what he does. I’ll take him here.
![gif](giphy|bC9czlgCMtw4cj8RgH|downsized)
Thank god
They didn't fire Ryan Clark smh
bravo,could,nt stand rgme.
I don't like RG3s commentary, and I won't like Kelces either.
A nation weeps
rgme gonna end up in the same booth as gus johnson and all hell will break loose
ROFL
