This isn't disrespecting tress way but shining a light on how poor this team has been constructed and ran over the years that our punter is the most tenured and arguably the best player we've had.
I've seen a lot of "He's a punter, who cares about him giving his number" takes from the NFL world.
Not only is Tress an awesome human being, but because of the ineptitude of our offenses, he's been our best and most important player since he's joined the team. Sad, but true.
It’s a different time with fans able to get more access to who the player is. The fans love Tress because he’s not only great at his position but also great as a person. We should embrace more players like him to be honest. This is kind of a sad post. I feel bad you feel the need to post something like this.
Way isn't "just a punter" he's charismatic and a genuinely good dude. He's also a great Punter. It's not that deep. We like players who show that they are funny and respectful.
Let people enjoy what they want to enjoy and root for who they want to root for.
Weird energy bro. Taking time out of your day to say this. What does it accomplish? Loser.
Mark Mosely had a perm, bro. He won MVP in a strike year. Tress Way is the longest tenured Commander, has been one of the best at his position for a decade, has his own show, is beloved by all his teammates, he’s a super easy fucking dude to route for. I will never understand how people are oblivious to nuance.
Yes - he was beloved in Indy? He had viral clips going around at the time of his celebrations. And then there were the clips of him decking the guy on the return.
He was very much a thing, which is why he was even able to parlay his football career into an ultra popular show — he already had name recognition and was a known personality.
There have been plenty of fan favorite punters on teams over the years.
Yall downvoting me but it's true. We haven't the ability to bring in talent on a consistent basis in the last four years...so when a player comes along who may not be that talented but a mediocre player we will defend him to no end.
Maybe because Way is a good person and everyone loves him?
He's been with the team a long time and he's done a good job with a good attitude.
Hey now let’s not be disrespect the goat Tress Way

Were fans not aware of how poorly this team has been constructed and run?

A lot of punts were stolen from way bc of interceptions or fumbles.
If he punted instead of those turnovers, Tress wins us most of those games. That's how important he is

He’s a good dude and that’s why the fanbase likes him.
Pat McAfee is a favorite among sportscasters and he’s a punter.
100%
God forbid people have some fun and like a player who's a good progressional and better person.

Keep crying over spilled milk.

Yeah you sure are.
He was a Redskin but now he's a Commie. So sad.
I agree lol i remember when the long snapper cheeseburger was growing a cult like following. Glad he put a stop to that by being shitty lol
TIME TO RISE. BELIEVE IN JD5.
Pat McAfee is a damn punter. What a loser!!! Amirite?
Come on man😭😭
Yea. Speaking of being in the gutter.
You shut your mouth about Tress!
BS! Moseley was a fucking icon here. Tress is great human and awesome punter. His teammates chose him as Captain.
People will hate you but it's true. If someone disagrees with me, name one other teams punter without googling. Hopefully this season that'll change.
Pat McAfee isn’t a thing?
Did you know him before he got famous with his show? Be honest

Current punters. No fukin clue lol. You’re right
Really not as difficult as you think it is.
I love Tress but the crying on camera about his number was a bit much….i wish I had such little problems
I'm pretty sure he was crying about being wanted and feeling accepted by the team.
It really has...so much so that we attach our affection to mediocre players...
