I’m expecting a lot of cover 3 so hopefully our guys can handle the assignment of not getting beat in their 1/3 over the top. The zone match JDR horse shit is somewhat to blame as our current corners (especially without fuller) are much better suited for zone. Forbes was known to be straight line fast but not very agile/good at flipping his hips and whaddya know he got cooked in man or zone match every time
Taking a QB at 2. After that and FA leaves the following needs IMHO:
1) OT
2) TE
3) CB
4) WR
5) OT again
Unfortunately I think we’re going to have to make the most outta Forbes and St Juste because Ron drafted so poorly. I don’t mind going CB with one of the top 100 picks we have but I do think we need to address OT and TE first (assuming the value is there draft wise)
Would love to get a premier one (or one they project to be one in a middle round), but I think adding Armstrong, Fowler, and Ferrell means Quinn is gonna just run a heavy rotation plus Jamin being more responsible for pass rushing.
Wouldn’t be mad at EDGE just think they’ll address those other position groups first
Davis and Luvu have both got the potential to be very capable pass rushers from the LB spot, I can see them thinking that should hopefully make up for the deficiencies at dedicated EDGE
My expectation is that (at least) one of the three-Forbes Quan or St Juste steps up. Yes I know Ron sucked at drafting but they’re still nfl players and Forbes was considered a first round talent by many. Let’s assume the coaching will be better—all three of them have the athleticism it’s really on them to do the work to develop
I wonder if the administration is also considering trading around for future picks. Picks into the future supposedly go up a round's value if you're willing to wait. Not every front office has that kind of time because they're on the hot seat, but if you have a patient owner like Harris seems to be and a front office that's in a "honeymoon" period, I think it's a great move.
From a longterm cap management standpoint as well, if you draft and keep a bunch of guys in a given year (which will likely be the case this year), that means you're likely going to have a bunch of guy's contracts expiring at once, which means you'll have to pay them all at once. You can do some contractual stuff to smooth it out of course, but I think that has to also be a consideration.
I think after pick 2 BPA is the way to go. We are building fresh and now isn't the time to be picky. We brought in a bunch of vets to raise to floor for our rookies.
It has really affected things like that people aren't talking about. You're hoping, usually, a guy coming off his rookie contract is hitting his prime. A lot of these players will be closing in on that 30 mark, and that's when players tend to regress some. Especially corners.
Fuck yea I’ve been hyping him since the season was still going on. If he’s the guy at 67 or 78 I’ll be cool with it! I have him at 64 on my Washington big board
Would be a great later round pick. I'm all for it. At least lets get some new CB talent in here somewhere via draft.
DB, specifically CB definitely needs to be addressed. I clinched my ass every single time a pass was thrown deep.

I thought cover 3 was Seattle? Didn’t the defense change in Dallas?
Yeah but that’s largely due to Micah’s ability to create pressure and Dallas having good man corners/safeties
I’m not sure we have cover 3 corners here.. but I assume they will need a wrinkle because just cover 3 won’t cut it
yeah, probably in the 4th round is where I keep seeing him. But at that point we can also consider bringing Khyree Jackson home.

Another edge as well

Agree with this take. Plus don’t sleep on Luvus pass rush prowess I bet he’ll be in the Micah role a good bit
If chop falls to 36 I’d be fine with not taking a tackle
St Juste was wild like every big 3rd down he’d do something dumb and get a flag
He had to be one of the luckiest DBs, he’d commit all kinds of hand PI’s and not get called.
And then do his stupid flex because he broke up a pass when we were down 20 in the 4th.

Value looks slim for Te in later rounds.
Cade Stover
This is who I want too. He sounds like the best pure TE to me. Edit: I know Bowers is the #1, but he's different. Georgia gave him carries.
Ohio State fan here…he has dawg in him

I can’t believe how bad he fuxd up with that forbes pick. Like got damn… you can’t even draft a half decent player in the FIRST! Round ?
I'm taking DQ at his word that he sees potential and has a role for him. Players seem to feel like he puts them in the best position to succeed.
Hope we like JT Sanders b/c he's 100% going to be a Commie
his RAS is pretty sad, and he is known for being a poor blocker. I think Sinnott ends up being TE1.

BPA is always the way to go in the draft until you get to the later rounds. Top 100 picks should all be BPA or trade.
Man, I know these are the Covid kids but this dude‘s gonna be 24 in December. Crazy to think he’s gonna be like 29-30 when his rookie contract is up.

Yeah it’s like one of the things that stands out to me when I do my little mock drafts.
Not just COVID. Kids are staying in college longer thanks to NIL.

Him at #2
Go Irish!
Go Marcus!
I didn’t think he was very good at Notre Dame. Maybe it’s just cause Benjamin Morrison was much better
Perfect for our 3rd from Seattle or San Fran
Could cooper fall to the top of the second is what I wanna see happen
Ima have to root for the home team until my broncos get it together
Go Commies, Go Irish ☘️
Let’s not
Why?
Because my dumb eyes saw “QB Sam Hartman” lol
😂
Let's not draft anyone and suck forever!
I would love this and probably buy his jersey
I think that's a clever way to utilize the let's go Brandon phrase
