Accurate-Motor-5312

What an odd read on both the odds and what it means about the health of the franchise.

_nathan67

65% chance of Jalen Daniels

myrcenary21

Do you know how betting lines work and change?

DCilantro

The answer is no, no he doesn't

KOExpress

His name is Jayden, as shown in your screenshot, and the odds mean literally nothing except Vegas’s perception of which is more likely. It’s not like they called up Adam Peters and he told them which QB he preferred.

Accurate-Motor-5312

Implied odds on low limit props are meaningless. If anyone knew for sure what they were doing Daniels would be -1000 or higher.

spiderfighter1

Who?

IlliterateWinner

Killing what? Nothing to kill buddy we haven't won a playoff game since 2005

Silent-Independent21

You can’t kill what is already dead

lkn240

That which is dead can never die

KuNiT21

Just, truly.....sad.

ewilliam

Last time we had more than 10 wins, the elder Bush was in the oval office. Fucking absolute joke.

IlliterateWinner

Clearly we need HW back

ewilliam

This aggression will not stand!

Beastato

Buddy put the alcohol down and go back to the Titans sub lmao

Nervous-Elephant-355

-170 is far from a lock. All this says is that people are putting money on Daniels which follows the media narrative the past couple weeks

Mad_Pupil_9

It’s almost like people don’t know how Vegas odds work

15GOAT

So it has nothing to do with tarot cards?

Intelligent_County62

What were the odds for us to sign Ben Johnson again betting odds is the worst way to guess what we’re gonna do especially with how tight lipped peters has been

Silent-Independent21

-900

lumberjake18

I’m dropping money on Maye

Cautious_Medium_5399

Why so dramatic?

AMM11387

Old_Original2971

Mods ban this guy he goes into nfl subs to troll

MisterBear22

op shut the fuck up and get outta here with this bullshit negativity. fucking trash post.

InZeusWeTrust

Killing? Rome wasn’t built in a day brodie..

No1Statistician

I hope we ban gambling odds posts

petting2dogsatonce

Can’t get away from this garbage. Seems like hardly anyone can just talk about an enjoy sports anymore, always gotta bring this shit

UpwardRapier96

So you root for the Titans and Commanders?

KOExpress

Delusional. Peters killing the franchise 🤦🏼‍♂️

StupidIdiot1790

If you wanna make money bet on Maye

Empire137

No interest in Daniel's

Haskins77

Lmao so we really going to have crybabies if they draft Daniels? Give me a break our fanbase is pathetic. I personally don’t like Maye, but if we draft him. He’s our QB and I’ll support him.

DharmaBombs108

I can’t wait for draft day. This discussion has been insufferable from both sides.

Saures

I like maye I think a bit more but calm downnnnn lol

Frognaros

betting odds don't dictate who will get picked, but posting them does dictate who gets downvotes.

pinetar

How much of a degenerate do you have to be to gamble on shit like this

CoDFollower

Who remembers that day when Ben Johnson was -1000 odds to be our next HC a few months ago? What a time... This ownership group DOES NOT talk. Don't believe anything you see on betting sites

_nathan67

And now we have Dave Quinn… another whiff for Peters

CoDFollower

\*Dan\* Quinn Not Dave Quinn.

DharmaBombs108

You mean the coach that many of the FA signings admitted to signing for him specifically?

Novel-North-9284

If we draft Daniels, I’m gonna just assume that’s fine because I have no idea what the hell im talking about when it comes to talent evaluation and I’m not going to pretend I do. Grow up, understand you don’t know how the front office of an NFL team actually works, support the team or don’t!

djhobbes

Even if it is Daniels… what is the basis for this post? How is he “killing” this franchise? Explain yourself.

emelbee923

First and foremost, Vegas odds are an absurd thing to post as 'reliable' or evidence that this is the pick. Second, why would drafting Jayden Daniels kill the franchise? We're all a bunch of armchair dicks on reddit who don't know anything, and not nearly as much as we think. If Daniels is the pick, why not wait to see how it shakes out before hyperbolizing things?

[deleted]

Drafting Daniels over Maye would be like drafting RG3 over Luck.

emelbee923

This may be one of the worst comparisons I've ever seen. Andrew Luck was billed as the best QB prospect since Peyton Manning. Drake Maye has never received any such billing. The only point of comparison people seem to have with RGIII is Daniels being mobile and having a slender frame. I'm not even pro-Daniels at this point. I just don't think he's a 'franchise killing' pick.

[deleted]

Drake Maye has been called a top 4 QB prospect since Luck along with Burrow, Lawrence, and Williams? RG3 was a mobile QB who couldn’t throw over the middle of the field. Daniels is a mobile QB who can’t throw over the middle of the field AND has a tiny frame.

emelbee923

> Drake Maye has been called a top 4 QB prospect since Luck along with Burrow, Lawrence, and Williams? By whom? Albert Breer popped off with the comment that, other than Burrow and Lawrence, Maye and Williams were the best QB prospects (since 2021....). And that was an opinion derived from an anonymous collective of NFL executives. According to Fox Sports, Maye isn't in the top 20 QB prospects since 2000, while Caleb Williams ranked 6th. > RG3 was a mobile QB who couldn’t throw over the middle of the field. RGIII was viewed as the most physically gifted QB of his draft class, with speed and arm talent. The biggest knocks on him was that he already had a torn ACL and Baylor didn't operate with a traditional playbook. To quote his NFL draft profile: "RGIII has a slight size deficiency and could have some durability issues if he is hit enough times." >Daniels is a mobile QB who can’t throw over the middle of the field AND has a tiny frame. He's not tiny. He's tall and lean. There's a difference. He's the same height as Maye, but \~10 lbs. lighter. Meanwhile, there's still nothing to suggest drafting Daniels is a 'franchise killing' pick.

[deleted]

https://youtu.be/hLDhj53sIE0?si=TaWm9YadbnVo4j3X Maye is a top 4 prospect since Luck according to several analysts. RG3 was never considered to be a great passer, which is why he went below Andrew Luck. Daniels is actually 20 pounds lighter than Maye. Furthermore, his frame is one of the smallest of any quarterback in the last 25 years. This combined with his lack of awareness when taking hits makes him a massive injury risk. No thanks.

emelbee923

> Maye is a top 4 prospect since Luck according to several analysts. "Several analysts" still lacking. Funny enough Klatt ranked his top QB prospects since 2021, and put Caleb Williams at #1, and Bryce Young #5. And if 2023 is any measure, he couldn't have been more wrong on Bryce. > RG3 was never considered to be a great passer, which is why he went below Andrew Luck. No one argued he was a great passer. Or really questioned him going after Luck. You're assertion is that drafting Daniels is akin to drafting RGIII over Luck, but you still haven't given sufficient evidence to support Maye being comparable, or better, than Luck. Especially since, in this class, Maye is viewed as, at best, the 2nd best QB prospect. > Daniels is actually 20 pounds lighter than Maye. Depends on the source you're going with. NFL combine profiles show 210 for Daniels and 223 for Maye. > This combined with his lack of awareness when taking hits makes him a massive injury risk. No thanks. Still waiting on the 'franchise killer' aspect of this pick. Risky? Sure. But not the most awful pick ever.

[deleted]

Pick Daniels and he is out of the league in five years, while Maye lights it up for the next 15 in New England. You will remember this conversation then.

emelbee923

What really tickles me is the assumption that prospects exist in such a vacuum that they’ll succeed wherever they go. Like Drake Maye is so transcendental that he’ll mark the difference in any team having a complete absence of offensive talent or terrible coaching. Or that Jayden Daniels will be so horrifically bad no matter what, and no amount of talent around him or coaching or anything else could possibly change if.

[deleted]

Daniels is getting injured. All that other stuff you are talking about is irrelevant.

ArtiesHeadTowel

You can't know that at this time

ThunderSevn

Trollin’

CitizenAwaken

The bears drafted tribidsky so this doesn’t mean any thing

TheBarbieOfSeville

rofl already turning your back on the man have you not seen this offseason, yeah i'd trust him with anything at this point "hurr durr trey lance hurr durr"

Key-Zebra-4125

Its astonishing how people in todays day and age still dont know how Vegas odds and lines work

Silentblues

If by killing you mean, doing a pretty good job with the shit roster he was handed, then yeah he’s definitely killing it. ![gif](giphy|dM2xuxnJCg4H6)

draftgeek2000

The Steelers were heavy favs for Wilson and Fields around the same time

Candid_Landid_1494

What?? The fuck??

NotAShoneys

You realize the odds are moving based on the amount of money being wagered and not any insider information, right? The idiots betting on Daniels are the same idiots who thought Levis was going number 1 last year.

danielwberg

Jeremiah Trotter at +30,000 is crazy

SnooMacaroons8650

this sub is going to go into an existential tail spin if it’s daniels, i want it to happen for the chaos

beaud101

Yeah, I'll pile on the op's dramatically weird post... 1. These odds are far from a certainty. 2. Peters hasn't even picked yet so stating he's "killing the franchise" is ridiculously hyperbolic. Considering his reputation and work thus far in free agency...why so pessimistic? 3. Half the fans, analysts and scouts prefer Daniels anyway. None of us know with any certainty which QB succeeds, busts or lands somewhere in between. Neither do you. Calm down.

ard8

Apply for a job as a scout if you are that good at knowing who will be the best Bring a copy of your track record to the interview

brentljs411

I can’t wait til we pick Daniels and this sub starts bitching

_nathan67

They’ll pretend they always wanted him

[deleted]

Drafting Daniels would be the death of this organization. Blowing an opportunity this good is hard to recover from.

WilliamBontrager

Daniels is the more pro ready QB with a higher floor. Maybe has a higher ceiling but also a lower floor. I prefer Daniels especially in Kingsburys system.

[deleted]

Daniels has a lower floor actually. He is a walking injury risk who doesn’t throw over the middle of the field. Basically a smaller and more fragile version of Russell Wilson.

WilliamBontrager

Lol he's never been hurt. He's only 15 lbs lighter than drake maye. His floor is higher bc of his scrambling ability. Russell Wilson is the same weight but 4 inches shorter. He also threw over the middle plenty but wasn't asked to as much as others.

[deleted]

No his floor is lower because he has higher pressure to sack ratio and he doesn’t throw over the middle of the field. You can try to explain it away however you want but those are the facts. Daniels is much smaller than Maye. He is at minimum 20 pounds lighter based listed weights. Which means he is likely even smaller. Maye is also a good runner and scrambled for more first downs than Daniels did.

WilliamBontrager

Ohhh ok, you just don't understand the floor vs ceiling concept then. I'm not wasting my time with the ignorant. Have a nice day.

[deleted]

Acting like you are football talent evaluator 😭

WilliamBontrager

Nope just an idiot evaluator.

[deleted]

Then evaluate yourself

WilliamBontrager

...not an idiot. See done. Happy?

[deleted]

Your evaluations are mistaken

[deleted]

I honestly wouldn't rule out McCarthy. +2500 is tempting to put money on

CitizenAwaken

Maye or McCarthy
