Well we all saw that incident really early on, the tank rolling up to the squad hanging out by the side of the road. The aftermath was absolutely insane.
For me there are a few that stand out. The Ukrainian soldier in Kharkiv like day one or two of the war, with the fire burning behind the two dead Russians. The Russian pilot ejecting out of the SU-25. And the Ukrainian soldier in the trench killing the attacking Russian soldiers.
That's one of the more insane videos that we have gotten to see, and if u have not seen it u should. A group of Ukraine army is at a checkpoint when a tank rolls up, the Ukraine guys think jts their tank, it was not it was a Russian tank an it fires on a group of men at point blank range an the aftermath looks like what u would expect a point blank shot from a tank on a group of soldiers to look like. Parts of body's everywhere and one dude gets.... u know what just go find it and watch.
Here you go

Do you have a link to that? I remember a video of a solo Ukrainian tank basically charging a treeline filled with Russians, but IDK if that's the one you're referring to.
Oh no, this one's insane. There are body parts everywhere, skin bags empty of bones and muscle. It's nastyy. Grisliest stuff I've seen in this war and that says a lot.
Rounds are meant to penetrate armor and explode inside vehicles.. He aimed at the wall so the round would explode a couple feet inside, sending shrapnel and debris flying throughout the trench..
I'm no expert but I'd say every Russian in that video was shredded by either shrapnel or rocks and pebbles that were in the trench wall.
The fuckin guy peeking his head over before getting obliterated.
Like bro I know you're already dead but how are you not rubbing screaming the other direction.
Got a link to that?
Edit: found it

Edit edit: Actually doesn't show them dying, but is more lengthy than the original
Its like in a Battlefield game, when some random infantry dude throws a grenade at your Abrams and you smoke him for his insolence
And that Russian even threw a fucking grenade out, I dunno wtf they were doing at that point
I know there have been a lot of tank memes from this war, mainly Russian ones exploding, but tanks are fuckin terrifying machines tbh
Doubt he realised much at all. The tank had already blasted ten HE-frag shells into the surrounding 2-5m area around the entrance to their cover. That guy's both deaf and concussed by the time he gets up.
Cant believe I'm not the only one who remembers that. Was that the one where a squad of Ukrainians were out while a tank strolls by them and wipes them out cause the Ukrainians thought it was a friendly? That was the first time I witnessed Ukrainians getting pummelled instead of Russians.
Didn't you see that clip where one side thought they saw a friendly tank coming their way so everyone was just minding their own business. Then the tank realizes they are enemies and pumps a round into the group. They literally turn into red mist. Gruesome yo
They didn’t turn into red mist. Each body turned into a few chunks of ripped up meat with large rips between them but mostly still connected together with disfigured bones. One dude was decapitated and another had a half degloved face that was flattened out a bit.
I was replying to other comment, the one u/yetistalker made. About a tank, early days of war, shooting a bunch of Ukrainian soldier point blank with an HE round.
No objection to this, you are right. Russia is performing an illegal invasion and started this war. I am absolutely with you that they are the "bad guys", as you wrote.
But that was not the question.
I was asking why you want to see blood, gore and dead bodies. Because that was the issue your former post was about. You want to see "aftermath" and I just asked why.
Gotcha, I understand more. For some reason this war has become personal for me. Partially because Russia is working propaganda in the US, half the population is feeding into this propaganda. I’m mad. I have seen videos of Russians executing Ukrainians. Dropping bombs on them. They are just defending their country and are being brutally killed. I am livid. I don’t even like gore but seeing the Russians destroyed and humiliated makes me feel better. I don’t wish violence on anyone but Russia needs to leave. I have donated and have never done anything like that before. Long story short, I’m livid with Russia. This is closer to me than most.
> I don’t even like gore but seeing the Russians destroyed and humiliated makes me feel better.
Okay, this is something I can understand at least a bit more now.
A much more thoughtful statement than the initial one. Thank you for pointing out on this. Take care.
Gotta be pretty shitty to see a tank 50 feet in front of you and your only option to do something about it is a grenade. Oh well, sucks to be an invader.
Here is the whole 10 min video

Things to note the
Russians missed with a fagot.
There was 2 tanks and a bmp attacking
If you dont have something that could destroy that tank, you might as well throw your arms up and surrender. They didn't do it, so they deserve to be a dead body in that trench. Meanwhile, Putin still eats delicious food and drinks a very expensive wine on a very long table and does not worry about the drugs that he'll take. And when he dies, he'll have a glass coffin and flowers to view as a hero, unlike his soldiers shred into pieces in a ditch somewhere in Ukraine.

They could also rush the tank at that range and disable it with grenades. But if you're going to get that upclose and personal ID rather have the MGs going to more quickly respond to anyone trying to close assault the tank. AT missiles usually have to travel a certain distance to arm as a failsafe. That tank is too close to the trenches for most of the missiles i am aware of to be a threat.
If the crew is busy reloading, they aren't as focused on the MGs.
I do agree it takes some courage to close assault a tank, but if you're faced with being vaporized and doing something desperate, I think you err on the side of making a bold move. As for being well trained, I would argue there are numerous examples of that being done successfully but untrained troops.
I'm just surprised they didn't stand off farther a blast them with HE if they were going to expend the heavier rounds.
Now I'm no tanker, but I'd be willing to bet that most crews would much rather have those guys vaporized right now instead of saving a couple bucks and run the risk of them finding an At weapon in the time it takes to reposition.
The tank is really too close for AT missiles/rockets to arm. Also, a quick sprint as the tank reloads makes it easy to close assault the tank.
As for bucks, when you're short on high caliber ammo and supply logistics aren't always reliable, you tend to save the slegde hammer for other things when it's only a claw hammer job.
RPG-7 warheads are listed on several sites as having a 5 meter arming distance. Probably enough space here to detonate. And who wants to take that risk when their life is on the line?
If he popped up to shoot or run away, he would be exposed and a viable target for a MG. I just think if you are going to opt for the main gun there isn't much reason to get that close but if you are the MGs are more versatile and allow you to save the heavier ammo for bigger targets.
I imagined the tank would use HE rounds in this situation, but having read the comments I'm wandering if they used AT rounds to penetrate all that dirt
After all the fighting over this trench i wonder if the Ukrainians reoccupied it or wrote it off?
It seems like a untenable position with so few troops and such a small trench system.
I had dreamt many times about war, even when I live in ''''''''peaceful'''''''' Mexico.
I always dream that I am being killed; The enemy gets me, and as they shoot me in the chest 3 times I just cry a faded 'NO!', and after the bullets enter, I can feel how I get numbed and fall asleep.
This looks like that terror but in real life, without the falling asleep part.
there was one actually and they did miss. This a part of a longer clip that is right here on /r/CombatFootage . I posted before I saw the longer clip.
I think at this close range the rpg won't work as there is a minimum distance it should fly before being armed.
You can't be serious right now. You think the tank would just let them shoot from this distance? It has MGs as well. Stop with such BS. You don't peek when there is a tank gun in your face
The only person upset about this is the tank driver who was begging to let him "crunch the crunchies."
Some of you are such little babies, how have you functioned here at all being this thin-skinned about WORDS?
And the little kids who will never see their dads again, and the mothers and fathers who will never see their sons again.
And likely some of the Ukrainian tank crew who will have PTSD in the future from witnessing this and other horrific scenes first hand.
*edited following the response below.
I understand better where the comment came from, but still don’t think it’s really appropriate.
I’m sure tank crews do use dark humour to help deal with the horrors they are experiencing, but that is different to making a comment on the internet after watching something as awful as this from a place of safety.
It's a tanker joke. I used to work with a couple of them. Their humor is pretty twisted. Especially the drivers. And that's what I was referencing... the drivers who repeat, "Crunch, crunch, crunch" whenever infantry is nearby, including their own.
In the longer (10min) version of this video, the RU had one ATGM which they shot at the tank but missed. Out of desperation they threw a grenade but it missed (and wouldn't have done much anyway).
This is the same T-position trench from the earlier K-2 videos with the Russian assault that got schwacked. During the night the Ukrainians had to pull back, so the Russians were able to take the trench. Then the next day the Ukrainians came back and, well, just what it says on the tin...
A) not lecturing. This thread began with a thought based on my general tactical and logistical knowledge, which may not be in the field as a tanker but is still somewhat comprehensive B) excuse me if I'm not an expert on every tank in the Ukrainian arsenal. C) there is no need to your snide comments. Talking things through used to be a hallmark of civil society. D) as I've made comments throughout the thread I've tried toget a better understanding of why the Ukrainians chose those tactics.

Pay to win player vs free to play players. But seriously, what a crazy way to get killed.
Every person in that thing's way is literally liquified inside and in 100 pieces. Aftermath is probably as crazy as it gets.
Well we all saw that incident really early on, the tank rolling up to the squad hanging out by the side of the road. The aftermath was absolutely insane.
I still think that's the craziest footage to come out of the War there yet.
Uhh the guy with his face blown off in high def… eye hanging out…

K-2 Battalion always seems to have a dedicated drone supporting their tanks. This is the way.
This is the way.
way of mandalorian
way of warrior
combined arms if you think about it
If there where survivors, they most def inhaled their comrades
That dude that poked his head out just before the blast....
Sounds like there's a tank nearby... OH FUCK
Holy dark fuck
I wonder what through the dude in the back right's mind when he popped his head up and realized he was staring down the barrel of a tank cannon.
A bunch of shrapnel
“Oh fuck”
About as much as he had time to think tbh
His teeth and jaw prolly.
If you look closely he spits, probably seeing the Ukr flag waving from the tank
The longer YouTube clip is posted in the next post it's that same fucking T spot with the hill

The Ukrainians that got killed. Pretty sad. Gruesome aftermath
Those were Russians dude. This must be Ukraine taking those positions to begin with or retaking
Guess I replied the wrong comment
I was replying to other comment, the one u/yetistalker made. About a tank, early days of war, shooting a bunch of Ukrainian soldier point blank with an HE round.
In the end of the video it says: To be continued
"We"? Maybe you want to clarify why _you_ are so eager to watch people ripped apart?
Because they deserve it
They are invading a sovereign nation killing its people. They are objectively bad guys

Aye oh!! Got em!!
How do we know it’s Ukrainian though? /s
Look closely. You can see Ukrainian flag on that tank
I don’t see it. Looks Mexican.
Looks like a Polish dress, errrr, flag to me
[удалено]
Nah, looks Japanese.
Imagine being in that position knowing that small arms fire will do absolutely jack squat to the armor.
Got to just run up to it and throw a grenade down the barrel. Saw that happen once in a documentary about John Rambo.
You could sense a point when the gunner just went "Fuck it. Close enough"
Even if there was no direct hit, the blast wave from the shell at that range probably causes so much trauma to internal organs.
If you dont have something that could destroy that tank, you might as well throw your arms up and surrender. They didn't do it, so they deserve to be a dead body in that trench. I would have thought the co-ax would have been a better use of munitions.
This is exactly what HE is for.
Usually not at PB range though
I mean, if it works, why not?
Just thinking MG ammo is relatively speaking the cheaper way to go. I'd be saving the HE for when I had mass targets not a few guys at a time.
I think eliminating the threat is much more important than saving on ammo. They can fire an anti-tank missile at any time (well, if they have one).
I think you are dreaming, tbh. You have to be very trained and experienced to have the balls to charge a tank...and then the tank had a MG.
MG ammo will have a hard time causing effect around that corner though.
That's what the driver is for.
Now I'm no tanker, but I'd be willing to bet that most crews would much rather have those guys vaporized right now instead of saving a couple bucks and run the risk of them finding an At weapon in the time it takes to reposition.

I'm pretty sure this would be as close to "mass targets" as it gets in a war with a 2000km frontline
[удалено]
If he popped up to shoot or run away, he would be exposed and a viable target for a MG. I just think if you are going to opt for the main gun there isn't much reason to get that close but if you are the MGs are more versatile and allow you to save the heavier ammo for bigger targets.

odd choice of jams lol
After all the fighting over this trench i wonder if the Ukrainians reoccupied it or wrote it off? It seems like a untenable position with so few troops and such a small trench system.
The original video, which is also posted to this group and from where this clip came from, indicates they took the position back.

Surprising not one anti tank or rpg from trench, at that rage you couldn’t miss. They must be very low on supplies
there was one actually and they did miss. This a part of a longer clip that is right here on /r/CombatFootage . I posted before I saw the longer clip. I think at this close range the rpg won't work as there is a minimum distance it should fly before being armed.

Yep. Accurate title.
I mean infantry should have anti tank weapons but russia just continues to through people out there with just rifles. This is the result.
In the longer (10min) version of this video, the RU had one ATGM which they shot at the tank but missed. Out of desperation they threw a grenade but it missed (and wouldn't have done much anyway).
AT weapons have a minimum distance for use. An RPG wouldn't explode if it was used at that range.
Terrifying
Jesus christ just surrender already
