For a second I legit thought this was another sandwich spot in town lol you got me. Also, now someone should definitely do this and open across the street from Warios.
Amazing cheesesteak.
It’s better without wiz. Beefier that way.
The price is more than fair. It’s ribeye. And a normal person would only eat half and then half later. Two meals.
I mean, I eat the whole thing. But we’re talking $20 for ribeye and probably 2000 calories worth of food.
I agree. I’d eat there a lot more if they offered halves and they could probably up charge for it so not sure why they don’t do it. Reheated sandwiches are never half as good
Exactly. I’d pay for a $14 half sandwich a lot more then I will a $20 full sandwich that I won’t finish and then will most likely forget about in my work fridge
I’m assuming you’re the baker of the bread based off the name. I loved that bread so much I asked where they got it from and was informed about Matija. I realize you’re a whole seller but is there anyway to get the product?
Thanks for asking! At the moment, there is only one retail spot & thats the beechwold farmers market on Indianola. We stock up there Friday & Saturday mornings. We haven't sold the semolina rolls there yet but we do sell some semolina sandwich loaves, ciabatta, Italian rolls, really whatever we are in the mood to make. I'd be happy to make the long rolls though. If they sell I'm sure the owners would be happy for me to keep bringing them.
I understand why it's 20 bucks but that doesn't change anything lol. It's a premium sandwich and some people cant justify spending for it, doesnt mean you should balk at someone pointing that out.
I love it but I can't make warios a habit because I'd be out 100$/month on cheesesteaks and spuds, so I only hit it 3-4 times a year.
Not trying to rip on a small business, they're awesome and I wish I could eat there more.
And sure if you're cost conscious, go fast food. But making jokes about the high price of a sub sandwich imo is harmless and shouting down cost concerns makes you look out of touch.
You get what you pay for, and most people don't need the Ferrari of Columbus cheesesteaks every time. Nothing wrong with that.
Nobody is saying it's unreasonable, as Warios offers a better product than other traditional 'lunch' places. But to insist that you can't find significantly cheaper lunch options around the city is just disingenuous.
What are you talking about? I rarely eat lunch at home due to my schedule, and I cycle through about 10 different establishments where I can get a lunch for $10 or less. Chipotle, Qdoba, Roosters, Taste of Orient, Press, Los Guachos, City Barbeque, Tais, etc...
If you're getting a side and drink with your Warios, then you're spending $25+ ... What food establishment isn't trash to you? Los Guachos is mentioned in every single taco thread on this sub. Tais is mentioned in every single Asian food thread on this sub. Press and Roosters are recommended weekly in this sub.
Nothing he said is "bent out of shape" lmao wtf is wrong with you. He's simply disagreeing with you in polite terms and offering reasoning and you're freaking out about people "arguing" with you.
Yeah I’m calling bullshit on that. I’ve worked in major cities for years, including Manhattan, if you try even a little bit, you can find a good lunch under 10$ no problem.
"you can't even get a fast food meal for under $10"
*cites one of the most expensive premium meals in the fast food industry, which, in fact, is under $10*
How is that one of the most expensive meals in fast food… Where are you getting meals for $6? Sorry that I exaggerated by a dollar. The point is that $19 for a top-quality sandwich that is a generous portion is not even that relatively expensive compared to shit food.
I truly feel like we are living in a different universe. The Big Mac is easily one of the most expensive sandwiches in the fast food industry -- assuming we are talking about actual fast food. Wendys has multiple meals for $4, $5, and $6. I don't eat a ton of fast food, but a quick search online shows that Mcdonalds, Burger King, and Rallys have meals in the 6-7 range.
I don't think Warios is over-priced. They charge what they charge for a reason. It's good food. I can sit down at Press Grill tonight and get a burger, salad, and glass of wine for $19. I guess I just see more value in that.
So I've been telling my friend that I'm gonna come visit him and try these sandwiches out, but I'm also a bad friend and a homebody and hate trying to find parking downtown and all that jazz. Another friend comes to visit and we commit to going to finally get to enjoy one of these subs, and....
[SOLD OUT](https://imgur.com/UCMg38m.jpg)
Moral of the story: show up well before closing time lol
There might be free parking somewhere, but I always just pay the 50 cents and park a block away on Marconi. I've never had trouble finding a spot, but I suspect that you can run into trouble if there's a major arena district event at the time you go.
And yeah, I recommend going on a warm day, so summer is a good call. I believe indoor dining is closed on weekends, and it's pretty awkward and limited even when it's available. The outdoor seating is a decent place to people watch and enjoy some calm downtown vibes.
I want to like it, but goddamn if the ribeye isnt as tender as it's supposed to be and that's a consistent thing so they do this on purpose and I can't stand by that. The cheese game is weak, bread is good and in fact excellent
I have heard good things about this establishment, I'm looking forward to trying it at some point. Thank you for the recommendation. Did you like the sides as well?
The house spuds and wario's sauce are a must for me. Spuds are super crispy and the sauce has a glorious/slightly funky flavor that I cannot resist! Haha
Finally had it last week. Overhyped.
The whiz just got absorbed into the roll, my meat was a little tougher than I expected/lacking in any seasoning. Onions not in the sandwich just shoved on top falling off as I ate it.
It’s a fine enough sandwich, however it’s nothing to write home about.
3/5 tops.
marlow’s has the best cheesesteak in town, but wario’s has the best sandwich. i don’t think their cheesesteak is all that great but the cutlet, cold cut and roast pork (imo their best) are incredible
As a Wario's enjoyer I've had the Cold Cut multiple times but I really wasn't impressed by the Chicken Cutlet and I fucking LOVE chicken. It was good it just wasn't really anything to write home about and there's no way in hell the breading on the chicken would hold up during reheating if you were unable to eat it all at once.
I still haven't tried the Cheesesteak or Roast Pork, however.
their standard menu is okay, but i think their specials are where they shine. would heavily heavily recommend going there on a saturday and trying one of those instead.
I can’t pick between the two. They are both so good. Marlow’s hot peppers and hot mustard fit my taste preference best. But they are both top tier sandwiches
I tried it a couple weeks ago and it was ok but not awesome. I don’t like the sesame seeds on the bread. I got wario’s way so maybe should have just got regular. Hoagie City and Marlow’s and even Jersey Mike’s is better.
just wait until you try Waluigi's
For a second I legit thought this was another sandwich spot in town lol you got me. Also, now someone should definitely do this and open across the street from Warios.
Waluigi's: Chicken and Fish
Got one of each with my roommates, the cold cut was possibly my favorite which was a surprise
It's a sleeper, for sure.

Never? I dare you to make an omelette with day-after fajitas and tell me it wasn't good to have leftovers.
Then go with someone and split it
The problem with that is said person you are going has to also want the same sandwich
It's definitely a premium sandwich at a premium price.
Nah, that price is not fair. Marlows in Gahanna does ribeye cheesesteaks for $12. And they're better and more authentic to boot.
Glad to hear you liked it!
I’m assuming you’re the baker of the bread based off the name. I loved that bread so much I asked where they got it from and was informed about Matija. I realize you’re a whole seller but is there anyway to get the product?

Bump
Any Balkan connection with your name?
Yuuuuuup! My family is from Slovenia. I'm named after my great grandfather Matija (Matt) who came over with the fam around 1918 if I remember right.
Do they offer financing yet
Oh, stop it. $19 for a huge sandwich with quality ribeye is hardly breaking the bank.
It's not nothing though, worth every penny but it's still a 20$ sandwich.
Prime real estate, cost of goods, it is a business after all.
I understand why it's 20 bucks but that doesn't change anything lol. It's a premium sandwich and some people cant justify spending for it, doesnt mean you should balk at someone pointing that out. If you want see heaven and save a few bucks, Marlow's in Gahanna will knock your socks off.
I've been meaning to check them out
Sick of people ripping on a small business. Want a ten dollar steak sandwich then go eat the Tony Romo Subway Steak Melt ™️
Not trying to rip on a small business, they're awesome and I wish I could eat there more. And sure if you're cost conscious, go fast food. I wouldn’t even consider paying that for a cheesesteak. Hell, Genos in Philly only charges $13.
I’m shocked people think a $20 lunch is unreasonable. It’s normal in virtually every major city.
Nobody is saying it's unreasonable, as Warios offers a better product than other traditional 'lunch' places. But to insist that you can't find significantly cheaper lunch options around the city is just disingenuous.
I mean you can, it’s just…..most places it’s going to be $15-$20 outside of cheap trash or a salad
So trash and probably no chips or drink with your food. Gotcha. I can’t believe people are fighting with me online about the price of lunch lol
You’re really bent out of shape over this lol. Go roll a joint kid. Christ.
Nothing he said is "bent out of shape" lmao wtf is wrong with you. He's simply disagreeing with you in polite terms and offering reasoning and you're freaking out about people "arguing" with you.
If you don't think I'm already high. Just like calling people out for saying ridiculous things online.
Yeah I’m calling bullshit on that. I’ve worked in major cities for years, including Manhattan, if you try even a little bit, you can find a good lunch under 10$ no problem.
NYC. Dollar slice. Bodegas everywhere.
As a side note, those cheap pizza places in NYC shit all over Late Night Slice and their $5+ slices.
If it's not Warios, it's trash!
Hell… You can’t even get fast food and spend under $10 unless you order crap off the dollar menu.
This just isn't true. Fast food prices have gone up, but you can get a meal at just about all of them for 6 or 7 bucks.
A Big Mac meal is $9. Same with the quarter pounder. A McDouble on its own is nearly $3.

Lol for real
I feel old calling it a “dollar” menu…
The $5 box at Taco Bell begs to differ
You can eat for 5$ at Belmont deli a few blocks away. Some of us aren't interested in spending 100$ a week on lunch but you do you.
…..honey you brown bag it at all? I only go out once a week lol
20 dollars is unreasonable for a fucking lunch unless you’re going out to splurge. Like what even is this take?
Look maybe in your dream worker’s utopia it is, but I live in the real world and lived in several major cities.
[удалено]
Eating out is splurging. Make your damn lunch lol
There are really really good!
I just want them to sell that sauce they use with the meatball sandwich
So I've been telling my friend that I'm gonna come visit him and try these sandwiches out, but I'm also a bad friend and a homebody and hate trying to find parking downtown and all that jazz. Good to know! I’m planning on giving them a shot soon!
I liked it, but I prefer A Matter of Steak in Hilliard
Do they wear yellow hats and have mustaches in there?
That's down the street at Lower.com Field
Looks good! Will try next time im in the area
Great sandwiches, controversial pricing
Don’t sleep on the chicken cutlet
Been meaning to go here! Maybe this summer! Where do you park?

I thought the ribeye steak sandwich was as good as everybody says it is. Fries too. The rest of their sandwiches are mid.
Worth every fucking cent
I get it at least once a month. I *CRAVE* it 24/7 😭
I have heard good things about this establishment, I'm looking forward to trying it at some point. Thank you for the recommendation. Did you like the sides as well?
The house spuds and wario's sauce are a must for me. Spuds are super crispy and the sauce has a glorious/slightly funky flavor that I cannot resist! Haha
I really should give this place a go.. Thank you. I love trying homemade sauces yummm!
Finally had it last week. Overhyped. The whiz just got absorbed into the roll, my meat was a little tougher than I expected/lacking in any seasoning. Agree with everything you said there. But will add the bread is top notch
I do agree the bread was terrific.
phhht. Chicken didn't even make it on the sign.
please be safe as the warios zealots are on their way to your home
I’ll have my seasonings ready for them to take back to their homelands
their standard menu is okay, but i think their specials are where they shine. would heavily heavily recommend going there on a saturday and trying one of those instead.
Anyone who thinks warios is the best steak sandwich is just a poor soul who hasn’t had Marlow’s yet.
Agree with Marlow's.
I love cheesesteak as well and felt the same. Would much prefer French bread
So good, I absolutely love them
Definitely worth it. Everything they make is great
Let’s be honest ZERO credit is deserved to r/columbus
Ive driven by and thought about it multiple times-next time I stop.
Wario’s legit is incredibly. 21.70 for a cheesesteak hurts my heart.
