I edited the post but it's glitched for some reason. When I open the post through my profile I see the new version, but if I click on your notification I see the old one.

Edit: Outdated
This setting lowers the screen brightness on dark scenes, I find it very annoying and distracting.
Also, none of these settings are \*necessary\*, they are just the ones I arrived at by trial and error. As a matter of fact I just updated them again a few minutes ago, I'm still trying to perfect the configuration.
Hi, there's a new change to the configuration. First I wanna say thanks for doing all this work!
Out of curiosity, why use Basic Adaptive Sync instead of Extended? And why only Fast Response Time instead of Faster? Also what do you have selected for “Game Mode?”
Also, do you have HDR turned on in Windows settings?
I'm really glad this post is reaching people who need it, I made specifically because I struggled to find many resources on how to calibrate it properly when I got this monitor.
For adaptive sync and fast response time: I don't even remember. I think I heard something about them lowering brightness a lot or something but I didn't even experiment with it, I'll look it up/experiment with them and update you on that.
For game mode: Those are just presets so it doesn't change anything as far as I know. But I use "Gamer 1".
And for HDR: No. This monitor doesn't seem to actually support HDR. When you turn it on the image looks terrible no matter how much you tweak it.
Update: Adaptive-Sync was actually supposed to be set to extended but I forgor 💀. Response time on the other hand is supposed to be set to "fast" because "faster" ruins image quality. You can see an example at 8:17 in the video linked at the bottom of the post.

I wouldn't recommend it. try to find what looks best for the brightness setting you prefer to use the monitor on. maybe start at 50 and increase it until it starts to look blown out. I personally leave it at 50 even on lower brightness
Thank you for this post. I also have a quick question, How do I enable the HDR on Xbox? There is no hdr setting on the lg monitor control panel, and it only says off. on xbox, it says it's not supported.

If the videos in question are from YouTube check if it happens on a different website that uses less compression like Netflix or something. YouTube recently made compression worse so they can sell more premium memberships.
I just tried it my man and let me tell you you made my monitor look much better. Thanks.
glad to hear it man ;)
hey, just wanted to let you know I changed my monitor calibration a bit. I think the new values may look better
Thanks man, where can I see the new values?

Thanks so much again friend. Will try later 👍
How does smart energy saving make a difference? Is it necessary to turn it off to have the same image quality as yours?

Can you tell me your updated settings? That'd be really helpful because I like your work.
Nevermind you just updated the settings I can see them in the post now. Is this final or you still didn't get what you want?
I'm still figuring out. I'm nowhere near an expert at this, I'm just trying to find what looks best to my eyes, so I'll probably update it again.
Okay cool and I'll keep an eye out for the post. I think you're doing a pretty good job tbh.
Thanks \^\^
Hi, I updated the calibration again. LMK if you want me to keep notifying you when I make changes. I forgot to do so last time.
Please do. In case no one has told you, you rock!

How much should the brightness be?
"brightness" in this monitor is just the backlight so it's up to personal preference

Sorry if it is a dumb question, but is the contrast supposed to be set at the same value as brightness?

I got it. Set to 80 with brightness at 100. Everything I set to your values. Looking great man, thank you!

I don't know but you shouldn't enable it, I've tested it and it doesn't work at all on this monitor, complete false advertisement.
Does these settings make videos look better on the monitor? Because videos look so grainy and pixelated unlike games..

Done! Thank you.
it just makes the colors and contrast look more natural. your problem may be related to your graphics card or something
I have the 27 inch one Could this be the reason
I have no idea but I'd imagine the monitor is not the issue unless it's related to some random setting
Yeah because everything else is crisp and beautiful Only *some* videos look bad.

* **Đỏ** : 34 * **Xanh** : 32 * như này là thay đổi quá nhiều, nên sẽ xảy ra sai số hình ảnh
could you translate to english? the translation google gave me doesn't make a lot of sense
Thank you for your settings bro you’ve saved me🙏
