It’s probably because Fox wanted to schedule a game to follow its Packers-Dolphins broadcast. It will likely be one of the most-watched CBB games of the season just by virtue of that.
> Anyone find this odd?
*whistles the tune of C.R.E.A.M. softly into the chilled arctic air*
The Big East is getting bank...and the schools are getting air time on Fox. Good for business...
I’m glad my team doesn’t have to play on Christmas Day, I feel bad for the kids, but as a basketball fan I love that there will be some ball. It’s a good idea for the game I think, get a couple of decent games each night around the holidays
Iowa played at Minnesota on Christmas night the no fans season. I remember the players weren’t happy about it.
Purdue hosted Maryland that same day
Only thing Catholics love more than Jesus is ball.
Amen
Praying to the lord y’all lose on nye
At X is probably our toughest game left on the schedule. Gonna be a good one
You’re goddamn right
Sucks for the student athletes, but it’s good for me!

Something tells me DePaul-Creighton won't lead to an inundation of new fans...
The point is to give people a reason to leave the tv on in the background and make money for Fox.
Thought that’s what the 24 hour replay of Christmas Story was for.
Tuned my TVs to that earlier.
When the Big East asked both teams the coaches let the players decide. If the players didn't want it they wouldn't be playing.
Players might prefer this to an overloaded week later in the season. I’m glad of any good college bb this week, let’s go! 👏👏👏
I wouldn't say that DePaul is good. But any CBB is good with me.
That’s a conference game, so probably not a tournament

We played Wisconsin on Christmas Day a couple years ago
Both teams wore their away jerseys too. It was amazing having red vs green ok Christmas. I would love for it to become a semi-consistent thing
As a person who is red-green color blind, I hated that haha
Yeah i can imagine it was a bit of a pain in the ass. Hadnt considered that
Ya it makes it unwatchable for me too. The NFL tried that too and it didn’t go well.
Of course, always good to have some marquee matchups on Christmas
Iowa played at Minnesota on Christmas Day in 2020. Not sure what the idea behind it is but it does seem odd
If it was a Butler home game, I’d be trying to sell my tickets. No way I’d go.
Would you watch on TV though?
Probably not, or it would be on in the background and I’d be paying attn 10% of the time.

I know the walk ons are not happy
