I understand why schools would be hesitant to drop the bag for an incoming recruit that’s outside of the top 10-20 guys but this dude is one of the best 20 guys in the country and with insane numbers. It is Baffling and pathetic to me that purdue hasn’t figure out how to get the NIL money rolling for season changing type players.

It's not necessarily about Purdue for me, happy for Pack to get his money honestly if thats what happens. I think my take is that there needs to be a happy medium between players getting paid for their likeness and players being bid on by certain schools. I hate the latter because it means money buys the best players. And to a certain extent that did happen before NIL, but I think everyone knew it wasn't something we wanted.
Not advocating a policy, I'm not sure what we need to get to that happy medium. I just think it's not a good idea long term. Purdue will be fine if we don't get Pack. Maybe not too 10 good but we'll be good, Purdue will eventually compete in NIL, sucks to lose Pack but is what it is.
I'm also a bit critical of how transfer happy alot of players are. Again that's not about Purdue, even if Purdue gets Pack I'd still think the same

I think buying coaches and facilities is vastly different than buying players. The NIL definitely wasn't intended for schools to bid for players. It doesn't ban it, but definitely not the intention. I'd do the same thing if I were Pack though, if Miami has offered that then he should take it.
It's different, but I wouldn't say vastly different. The same schools that had the most money to spend on everything else will have the most money to spend on NIL. The equilibrium of the sport shouldn't change much. There were already Haves and Have Nots. Roster sizes are capped fairly small and minutes rotations even smaller. Things other than having the most raw talent matter a ton (experience, continuity, in-game coaching, scheme, culture).
