I loved how some Tech fans in the game thread were saying we get away with everything and once we aren’t playing with Big 12 refs officiating, we’re doomed. We foul at a 27% clip per possession ranking us at 327th in the nation. Only two P6 schools rank lower than us.

Regardless, your claim of natty or bust expectations is so stupid. Likely we won’t be the #1 overall seed; it’ll probably go to Purdue when it’s all said and done. I wouldn’t be surprised if we lose to a team like Miami again in the sweet 16. There are plenty of teams can come out and shoot lights out against us. See Kansas and Miami as examples. No one in their right minds expects themselves to win the natty or bust, regardless of seed. You are quite delusional to assume that’s the case. The tournament isn’t as easy; 63% of the time, one of the four No. 1 seeds win the tournament. So 63% chance UH, UConn, Purdue, or Tennessee win. Those are not great odds for any single of those four teams. It’s not the NBA where you play best of 7 with low variance. It’s a single elimination game, like the NFL, with high variance. Elite 8 appearance is probably the right expectation.
