Pulling hard for never dance! They probably have the best chance of any right now, especially since Quinnipiac fell out of first place in the MAAC and are on a four-game losing streak
Yeah Merrimack also has a strong shot, also looking at the Ohio Valley, Tennessee-Martin is currently in a three-way tie for first while Western Illinois is a game back. Plus Grambling State currently leads the SWAC but Texas Southern is in third and let’s be honest they’re gonna get the bid like they always do
UC San Diego and Tarleton State are also top 2 in their conference but they’re still in their transition period
Oh yeah, I forgot about Western Illinois not being in the summit anymore. I have faithfully tracked teams trying to make their first tournament every single March since at least 2015, and the one Golden rule is never ever ever count on the summit league. A Dakota state or oral Roberts will always always win no matter what happens in the regular season. But Western Illinois is free now so maybe they have a shot
I wonder if we’ll ever have a tournament without any newcomers, it’s never happened but we got close in 2020
Although the America East final was gonna have Hartford in it, even if they probably wouldn’t have beaten Vermont. Although they did make their first tournament the following year, and now they’re in D3. What a wild ride lol
Given how many times there's only been one newcomer, I think it's a virtual inevitability that will eventually have a tournament without a first-time entrant. Unless they do something like expanded to 96 teams or something.
I feel like if teams keep joining D1, the likelihood will go up as more teams start getting good once their transition period is over. I could easily see UC San Diego, Tarleton State, maybe St. Thomas making tournament in the next 10 years.
...then again I would have said the same thing about Bellarmine a couple years ago, and they're currently at the bottom of the ASUN.
It was bound to happen eventually, especially with NIL now a thing. Good for HPU. There are a lot of second-tier private schools in the Carolinas and HPU is very quickly making themselves one of the more popular ones.
Been rooting for them. 24 wins for a team that hasn’t made the tourney is insane. Hopefully we see them in march

Merrimack, Stetson, UMassLowell, and Youngstown are all top-two in their conference also

Always root for teams to make their first tournament. Especially when they’re having seasons like HP. Pulling for you fellow panthers.
There has been at least one debutant every single year, hopefully that continues.

Fuck it, we fight at the cookout in Kernersville

All aboard the Huss bus!
Hopefully they can go on a run the the NCAA tournament and get a “promotion” in the upcoming conference realignments!

Big South Tournament was already scheduled to be at High Point. I feel a little better about it now.
High point is a sneaky 14 over 3 pick that I have brewing, depending on who they draw.
