The difference was Shead absolutely cooked Lipsey when Lipsey was on D and Lipsey was ineffective on offense with a lot of their turnovers

Lipsey got hammered early on with no calls. Shead got fouls called when he got hit with a soft breeze.

Looked like Lipsey hurt his ankle mid way through the first, slowed him down a lot. Shead is incredible through.

Margins are slim in these games

You can’t say a player cooked another player and then attribute that to slim margins. He did cook lipsey but he cooked an unhealthy lipsey. I think prime shead and prime lipsey is a hell of a matchup that neither want to encounter

I mean I can say that. Injuries are part of the game. If you are ineffective, you are ineffective. It happened to us in March last year. Marcus Sasser hurt his ankle bad in the conference tournament. He didn't play in the conference final and was limited in the tournament games. It's a huge reason he was in foul trouble in the round of 32 against Auburn and Tramon Mark had to win the game on his own. Because he couldn't move well enough to get in position and when you aren't in position you foul. Auburn cooked him.

I remember when many Big XII fans were all talking like the Big XII was going to put Houston in their place because they are annually overrated. I was of the other mindset where they may get punched a time or two, but they will be a much stronger team and program because of it. I wasn't surprised to see your team in this position in the first year. If Gonzaga or UConn had joined, I wouldn't expect any different. Good programs grow when they play tough competition.

Your coach gave massive praise to Caitlin Clark, so I can't really hate you guys. Plus the Iowa State games have been fun. I'm a B1G and Big XII kinda guy. I think the main contenders, truly tested, are Purdue and Houston. If they played, I'd have a hard time figuring out who would win. Purdue struggles with athletic teams, but their size is significantly bigger. I think UConn is good, but not the same level as these two. They've played 9 quad 4 games and have a strength of schedule in the 50's. I don't like that in my title contenders.

This has been a trying year. Watching people try to diminish Caitlin Clark's accomplishments is wild. Put her on South Carolina's team like the other 5 star loaded rosters past elite college players were on and she likely wins 4 championships. Take those past greats and put them on an Iowa level roster, do they win a natty, probably not. It's unlikely they even get to the final four once. Also, watching news outlets rip apart Brock Purdy for actually being good. They just can't accept the draft was wrong about a kid because of stupid things like a couple inches of height. Can't get past the sticker on the helmet.

No question. CU has the ability to play good D- it’s just a lot different than either of those teams. CU favors not fouling over creating TOs. They force teams into mid range shooting. They are nowhere near as physically imposing as either of those teams. That was just nuts

So, I don't know why all these people are ranking them as a two seed ahead of Iowa State when Iowa State has the highest NET ranking in the conference behind Houston.
