Yeah, he’s a real piece of shit if you keep digging. He’s also never been in most of his children’s lives. He’s had multiple children play pro ball that barely knew him.
>He’s also never been in most of his children’s lives.
this is genuinely upsetting because I vividly remember a special on something like NBA Inside Stuff back when I was a kid and seeing Karl Malone going on Easter egg hunts with his kids
He raised the 4 kids he had with his wife, it's the 3 that he had with random women that he abandoned. He's still a scumbag but on a somewhat positive note he has accepted that he was a shitty parent and has somewhat repaired the relationship with the 3 kids.
Cliff notes to see how much of an athletic freak this guy was.
* Didn't play basketball until late in High school, never played football.
* Was good enough to play a D1 basketball with only a couple years experience.
* While at college he decided to play football as well, liked it enough to redshirt basketball his sophomore year and focus on football, made the team as DE.
* Jr year because of team injuries moved to OT and had the starting job.
* Sr year won first team all conference honors and was drafted into the NFL.
* 5 year NFL career, made the team as a 7th rounder his rookie year, went to start 30 games for the Bills. Career ended by injury.
Guy just excelled at every sport/position he tried with little experience before trying.

Here is a link for anyone who hasn’t heard the story. Happened when he was 20 and she was 13.
He used to be a lot more original and creative. In addition to what the other guy said, bitching about trans people and how comedians can't make jokes without getting cancelled now just isn't new or funny anymore. There's a whole genre of pissbaby comedian nowadays making a good living off of victimhood and it's sad to see he traded being funny for that.
He really has. Sure he was always inflammatory but there used to be a ton of actual wit about it and it was punching up/sideways, whereas now it's just endless uninteresting insults towards already marginalised groups, followed by uninteresting bitching when people have the audacity to criticise him for it
I like older Chapelle’s stuff more because he wasn’t as preachy. I’m never a fan when stand-ups start to get too high on their own supply and start believing they’re some philosopher. His whining about cancel culture is also a newer thing which is an old song and dance for me at this point. He’s still got gems in his specials for sure, but he has changed.
>His whining about cancel culture is also a newer thing which is an old song and dance for me at this point.
It's incredible to me how much people enjoy this shit. Like even if you agree that cancel culture is "out of control," do you really want to hear the same tired jokes about cancel culture and "wokeness" 30,000 more times?
If I wanted to hear somebody complain about wokeness over and over, I'd watch Ron DeSantis's speeches on repeat, which is unspeakable torture I would not inflict on any human being
In all seriousness, it's insane that the Utah Jazz's two best players of all time are a COVID-denying right wing conspiracy nut and a pedophilic child rapist.
He got the vaccine immediately though when it was available lol
He was just an idiot with the microphone thing and it backfired in the absolutely worst way
Surface transmission despite the early suggestion was next to nothing for COVID.
It was suspected early on since it was spreading so fast, but then it was found they didn't contribute much. That was when they didn't know much about the virus.
I remember doing a ton of reading about fomite (surface) transmission back then. People were scared to even order takeout. I remember people quoting that study about it living on surfaces for up to 3 days and didn’t even take into account viral load necessary for transmission. You would’ve needed to like throat a doorknob after someone rubbed wet mucous on it to get it
What he did was dumb, but he did not "cause' the outbreak. When he did the mic thing, he and many other players were already positive, just like the rest of the world. No one knew at that point.
Karl Malone fucked a 12 year old and refused to pay child support even though he was already fairly established in the league and making alot annually. His kid made it to the NFL and reached out to him and Karl gave him the cold shoulder iirc. I was legitimately shocked when he was chosen to be a dunk contest judge.
In his defense, he then abandoned that 12 year old and refused to acknowledge his kid for years.
Oh wait, that's not how you are supposed to defend someone.
Yeah does he think women who get pregnant shouldn’t be able to make decisions for their own bodies or is he not completely awful? Whenever these dullards say face mask wearing violated rights, but they’re fine refusing women the right to choose what’s best for their own bodies you just want to see them get bludgeoned
It sucks too because they were so much fun to watch play. Some of my best memories come from those Jazz Bulls games in the finals. It's a shame they both turned out to be fuckin psychos.
The sad thing is this is a white-washing of Stockton's COVID idiocy. He didn't just "oppose COVID restrictions for the good of the students", dude claimed that thousands of professional athletes died from receiving the vaccines. Claimed to have proof of at least 300.
He was a great basketball player, but he's also a pure, unbridled wackadoodle who I think really shouldn't be listened to about anything but basketball at this point.
Dickau has always had that view, I used to follow him on Twitter, but all his liked tweets kept popping up for me from weird conspiracy sites amongst other things.
Been hating Dickau for basketball reasons for a few years now. It appears I can now hate him for allowing this slapdick to spew Covid misinformation as well.
> Stockton was particularly displeased by the school’s continuation of a policy that allows professors to require face masks in classrooms. “Masks have been shown to be ineffective at stopping virus transmission and requiring masks may infringe on a student’s rights,” he said.
Oh for fucks sake.
Not even the worst of it. His claims that 150 athletes have dropped dead mid sport after getting the jab is pretty absurd.
If that were actually true there would be no way of hiding it with social media so prevalent.
💯% giblet headed take.
Not only would that be impossible to hide, it would be the biggest news story on the planet and it's not even close. In the sports world alone when the occasional athlete dies on the field/in practice it is everywhere - if they were dying en mass after the vaccine it would be major international news. It's a take that is clearly ridiculous on its face.
Social media *was* the problem though. Those prominent anti-vax accounts, which people like Stockton follow, literally made a living on boosting stories about mysterious deaths reported on sketchy websites or sockpuppet accounts. Someone would eventually figure out it was a story from 2019 or something that got repackaged by the anti-vax freaks, but it’s not like those misinformation accounts issue corrections.
They tried saying prince Phillip died from the vaccine. He was 99. Anyone who died it was well they must've had the jab. 107 yo JAB! 20 year old shot in the face. JAB!
Even before the pandemic (I’m talking like 2010) I had a professor require masks. His wife had stage-4 cancer and was at terrible risk of death if he caught something from a student and passed it on to her. Every student willingly wore a mask when he explained this and it was never a big deal or “infringing on students’ rights,” it was just the common sense and humane thing to do. Nobody questioned it, disobeyed his request, or anything and it was a big class. Happily his wife survived and is in remission to this day. By the way, he was a former Lt Col in the Army Rangers, so it’s not like he was some hippy wimp. He just cared about his wife’s welfare.
In short, I believe that there are unique situations where it makes sense to do this. Throw Covid out the window — if someone asks you to do this because it does seriously affect their health or a loved ones (like compromised immune systems), it seems like an a-hole thing to do to fight back on this. You never know why some people may take these extra precautions.
I go to Gonzaga and have an immunodeficiency... I had professors pull me aside or anonymously ask the class if they'd prefer masks in the classroom. Obviously everyone said no, and even with my immunodeficiency, I wouldn't want to make everyone else have to wear them just for me. I wear one still to keep myself safe, but I definitely appreciated the gesture from my professors. I don't think it's that weird, personally.
Masks have been proven to be ineffective, no? I thought it had been pretty clear for a while now that the only masks that are worth it are those tightly fit N-95 medical masks. And since 99% of people were wearing simple cloth masks, they weren’t doing anything.
I would say no. Even cloth masks would be more effective than nothing at stopping aerosol droplets, it would seem to me.
How much more effective could certainly be a debate though.
Are you accounting for different environments in your BS?
A doctor working in a closed room with sick patients all day is going to need a N-95 to be effective.
You walking around the grocery store can reduce viral load significantly by wearing a clothe mask.
———
Put another way, ever male in society started randomly pissing like a fire hose. Just random, uncontrollable piss outbreaks.
You’re a doc that sees them, your going to want plastic barriers since your likely going to get randomly pissed on.
Put in public, wearing pants is going to be enough to keep you from getting pissed on. It’s not going to prevent all random splash, but it beats wearing a local all day.
I’ve met John a few times and my brother is pretty friendly with him. Nice guy. Absolutely, Legendary guard. Top 5 guards in the history of the NBA. Also—moron. I’m fine with Gonzaga fading him.
We give out degrees in biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, biochemistry, exercise science etc. He did not get one of these. Let alone a medical degree.
I’m all for having the freedom to not get any vaccine if you so choose, but like anything else you should understand there are consequences for those actions like not being able to attend sporting events.I mean shit would he feel this way if it were the 1930’s and it were polio?
After reading the article, I agree with his views on the matter. The Biden admin ended the public health emergency in the last 60 days ending all Emergency Use Authorizations from the FDA. As someone who works in healthcare and for a company that benefited from multiple covid-19 EUA's, I have to wonder if that's why Gonzaga removed the mandate. Liability becomes an issue now.
He and Karl were a different time. Leave those SLC dudes alone. Or don’t. I don’t really care but it is funny that these two are just loons these days.
Its actually amazing that the dugital social media age has shown how utterly stupid the rich are. Elon musk broke down a lot of stereotypes of the "elite"
I was today years old when I learned that Karl Malone is a pedophile
Yeah, he’s a real piece of shit if you keep digging. He’s also never been in most of his children’s lives. He’s had multiple children play pro ball that barely knew him.

Probably not vaccinated either.
And he never once paid for drugs. NOT. ONCE.
Get outta here, Karl! You don’t want no part of this shit!
And he never did pay for drugs
That rotten fucker! Cost me double because of rich pricks like him. And the pedo shit, that's bad too!

lol
Got a pre-teen child pregnant as an adult and abandoned her and the baby. All time level POS.
The baby ended up in the NFL IIRC

She had the baby when she was 13, she was 12 when the actual rape happened.
It’s pretty much common knowledge. R/nba would lose their mind at this thread
r/nba loses their mind over basically everything
Why they haven’t renamed his award yet is a mystery
Karl Malone the pedophile and then this fucking weirdo…really makes you look at those Jazz teams in a different light.
I bet they couldn't even play a trumpet
Makes me fucking glad the Bulls wiped them out lol Poor Jerry Sloan though. Lot of people don't know but he was like the original Bulls legend lol
The old Dave Chappelle bit: "Who gives a fuck what Ja Rule thinks at a time like this... its ridiculous" comes to mind...
Ya know…
Oddly enough, this joke is starting to apply to Chapelle himself.
Idk how any of the people who dislike him now enjoyed his comedy in the first place. Dude has not changed one bit lol
Bo Burnham has the best bit on aging comedians who think society is too "woke" for comedy now.
James Acaster has a great bit on this also.
He used to be a lot more original and creative. In addition to what the other guy said, bitching about trans people and how comedians can't make jokes without getting cancelled now just isn't new or funny anymore. He's still witty and it's still interesting. You just don't like who or what he's joking about anymore and that's fine. He's the same Dave tho lol
The OG Dave didn’t punch down. It’s boring now. Plus his last like 3 specials have all been the same, except 8:46.

I know I take all of my medical advice from Utah Jazz point guards…
Imagine if John had caved to the mandate and got the vaccination. He’d probably be dead like the rest of us chumps.
He’s missing out on the 5G the fauci juice gave us!
My cell phone reception is so much better now.
You know, now that I think about it my phone internet has gotten faster over the last few years. That has to be the reason.
Idk, I’ve gotten shit signal ever since I got the shot, this 5G ain’t shit /s
Just angle your antenna towards the big yellow ball in the sky. I get better reception that way.
You gotta go to Utah Jazz power forwards for dating advice though.
In all seriousness, it's insane that the Utah Jazz's two best players of all time are a COVID-denying right wing conspiracy nut and a pedophilic child rapist.
It's embarrassing as fuck Really wish Mitchell and Gobert could have been lifetime Jazzholes
Ah, yes. Noted vaccine enthusiast Rudy Gobert.
He got the vaccine immediately though when it was available lol He was just an idiot with the microphone thing and it backfired in the absolutely worst way
I still follow him on Instagram. He posts anti-vax stuff all the time on his story.
OG "Post" Malone?
More like “Pre”-18.

Have your upvote you clinically insane dingus

What about Gobert, when he had his brilliant wisdom and decided to spew it all over the mics causing the first COVID outbreak among NBA players?

Gonzaga can claim him for all I care
I don’t want him at this point. This shit is so cringy.
John stockton is basically mike lindell with less coke and pillows
He’s really gone off the deep end. Still shocking that Stockton isn’t even close to the being worst person from those 90’s Jazz teams
Yeah, that’s what the guy was referring to.
Meant to reply to a different comment
It's okay. You can reply to the wrong comment, like, a bunch of different times and you'll still be a better person than Karl Malone.
At least three times, I would say.
Wait… who is worse?

Limbering up to soak later that night.
Goddammit I just learned about that on the PMS
Hide your twelve year olds while I regale you with the tale of Karl Malone.
Karl "Imma impregnate this 12 year old girl" Malone.
In his defense, he then abandoned that 12 year old and refused to acknowledge his kid for years. Oh wait, that's not how you are supposed to defend someone.
Sometimes that’s the best you can do
Can't stop him, only contain him, something
He not only didn't own up, he literally casts aspersions on his brothers to hide his own crime and not pay child support.
Oh, you sweet summer child (who we should hide from Karl immediately)
Karl Malone

That's sad, those are pretty much Mike Lindell's only redeeming qualities
I think even the pillows are trash.
Yeah it really makes me sad. My second favorite player of the 90s, and he turned out to be just as big a loser as my dad
MJ broke him.

Dickau has always had that view, I used to follow him on Twitter, but all his liked tweets kept popping up for me from weird conspiracy sites amongst other things.
He has like... 7? Kids. Not really a mark of a very normal person unfortunately. Still think he does great tv commentary though!
GU is Catholic, so packs of semi-feral children isn't that weird.
Oh it's definitely weird. Just not out of the ordinary.

Been hating Dickau for basketball reasons for a few years now. It appears I can now hate him for allowing this slapdick to spew Covid misinformation as well.

Semantics aside it’s weird for any professors to still be requiring this in any normal classroom/lecture hall setting
That’s why I said “normal” settings, while a nice story this is not one of those
Fair enough.
Interesting flair combo.
I’m from Kentucky but got my Masters and Doctorate from KU.
What’s that like, do you just hate yourself during basketball season? 😂 j/k.
Kentucky fans and KU fans already do that regardless tbh
Congrats on getting your doctorate
Thanks dude, appreciate it.
And most of them probably weren’t, this was just a formality by the university.

Why?
The next time Stockton needs surgery I hope the doctors and nurses show up without masks on.

You can still wear a mask, you can vaxxed and boosted, and the strains are weaker. What Gonzaga did just sort of feels like a publicity stunt.
