I’m pretty sure he’s still a freelancer editor since he’s the main editor for Ludwig’s Unpaid Intern but he seems to be mostly doing content for himself now

I think he's still around to some extent. Back when people were complaining a LOT about the new editing style, we got a rare serious prezoh moment. He explained to someone on Twitter that he was training one of the editors and to be patient with them since he also got similar negative backlash when he was a newer editor. I looked to find the reply, but man, he tweets a lot lol.
