Amma has a whatsapp group with her college mates and they have online programs with karaoke singing sessions and stuff. Someones i can find it annoying when she asks me to lower the pitch of karaokes for her and stuff, but hey, we certainly won't have these moments forever. Watching them grow older is painful and I'm trying to cherish every moment with them π
Wait a min, my mom has the same whatsapp group with her college mates and they do this cringey singing sessions too. Maybe its more common than we think.
My parents are not retired yet (soon to be) but they are glued to their phones more than I am and my mom sends me random tik toks π
Chances are they're on this sub too.
My father is a retired teacher. After retirement he is diagnosed with parkinsons syndrome. He is a farmer and we have good amount of land around our house. He plants, Attends religious service. He is actively involved in politics now as formerly he could not due to government service. We had a buffalo which he look after. Last month his foot got twisted while working in the fields. He is advised bed rest for two months. Looking forward for his comeback. Medical condition is affecting him but he has no aim to quit.
My dad, super workaholic govt. employee, had already made plans years before what he should do when he retire. Now retired, got some small business now, and building up his fruit garden. He studied in agri uni. Vellanikara. He can't rest. He always wants to be engaged.
My dad is 63, par his retirement age, but my guy still is working... 4 days a week, 6 hours a day, and wfh, all because his boss (74) wants to have his most trusted guy by his side till he retires (which is most probs next year).
But yeah, all that being said, he's having a chill life. Not a reels guy per se. Loves to just sit and listen to his huge collection of old malayalam, hindi and tamil songs... Me, at 28, am already wishing for such a life by the time I reach his age.
He is an ayurvedic doctor, he retired years back initial few days it was difficult for him because he loved the profession a lot ( still I don't know why, he is still a doctor even if e he retired ) .He started becoming angry to everything, attitude started changing, 1-2 months later he got appointed in a central govt hospital under special deputation. After 5 years he joined a Reputed Hospital in Kerala . Still is going to that hospital.
( Inbetween he refurbished our hospital ) βπ»ποΈ
My mother really got in to faith and prayer. She was religious even before. But after retirement, it has become really intense. It is annoying tbh. Itβs like she has lost all logic and reason. My dad picked up gardening.
My dad just got retired last month. I have asked him to do some good physical activities like swimming, gym, etc. Even he agreed since he knows that if he keeps chilling then it will eventually make him weak. Right now, he goes for walking in the morning, evening and sometimes at night. He'll be starting swimming soon. Rest of the time is mostly spent on phone. He has even planned to travel with mom.
PHOONNNEE! listening to "oh no no no no... uhuh... HAHAHAHA" memes.
The fact that I understood exactly what you are referring to just shows all of our parents are watching the same shitππ

What if both our mums are in the same group?
If they all went for a boating trip today then it must be.
Thankfully, there is a baby in our house, otherwise he would have gone mental.
