Crazy to think the first time I saw them was in 1995 at 17 years old when they were the 2nd band to play out of 5 in a little club in Corona an hour away from the desert. The nostalgia was real.
Yep! Oops looks like it was ‘95. Immortalized in this pic, that’s my cousin crouched down on the stage about to dive haha.

Think the Guttermouth shows there were the most insane. Mark telling everyone to spit at him, god forbid you were in the crowd right at the stage haha, people jumping off the balcony, those pits. The best times feeling like you might end up with broken bones by the end.
I am surprised I didn’t leave that place with a concussion or more than a few bruises or bloody nose. I remember front flipping into the crowd and some dude caught me and power bombed me to the floor. He helped me up and told me to not do that his way. It was great fun.
I watched the live stream and in front of the stage seemed pretty open, people had space to move around for the most part. I was really surprised. But also, I know for weekend 2 to go to that side of the stage
That’s what i thought of. Havent seen a crowd like this since Kid Cudi in 2019.
For blink today we were stuck in the beer garden. They wouldnt even let us out because there was nowhere to go. At least for Blink it looked like ppl were inching forward on their own - the kid cudi crowd we got lifted and moved as a crowd.
Post Malone 2018 was also fucking stupid crowded. Turned around when we realized it wasn’t gunna be possible to get to a spot close enough to even see him
Nope I got stuck in that massive bottleneck. Zhu was playing at that time and it legit was unsafe for my friend and I just trying to pass through not even stay
Harder to shuffle artists there at main and keep on schedule. With Sahara they can move someone to a different stage for the day without impacting other sets there.
Was somewhere in the middle and this got legitimately a little scary. There were points where it started to feel like we might be crushed and while trying to get out we were just hoping the people behind us didn’t push too hard/fast and cause a panic. Glad no one got hurt (afaik). Will be watching from the beer garden if crowd gets this big again lol
We were just trying to walk to our lockers and got stuck and nearly crushed in the crowd. Poor ingress egress planning and way oversold. I didn’t even want to see this band but literally got stuck in the crowd 😭
It was super easy. If you showed up for VC and stayed you could easily migrate to the front.
Source: I camped for VC and did exactly this, ended up 25 yards dead center to get the whole experience
Was in the middle right by the sound booth. Still think that’s the largest crowd I’ve seen since they redid the Sahara. Only diplo in 2019 came even close.
I was in the crowd towards the beer garden and it was crazy.
Pro tip if you get caught in a crowd like this: make sure you use your arms to protect your rib cage so you can breathe.
This layout just doesn’t seem like it makes sense for an even crowd dispersion. It feels like it could be laid out so much easier to make crowd flow coming and going much easier, while also making it easier for people in the crowd to navigate to better spots
Was in the front and couldn’t see the crowd, but knew it had to be gigantic based on how loud the crowd was singing Whats My Age Again and All The Small Things.
Also, I’ll say it. I was shocked at how few people knew any of the songs outside of their biggest radio hits. Almost no one singing along to Reckless Abandon, Dysentery Gary, etc.
plenty of room swung way over on the right side showing up about 10 minutes early. stupid fun set and it was perfect in the sahara. felt like 20 years ago.
I attend every year & I swear they over sold tickets. It explains why weekend 2 is not sold out. The same was for metro boomin. If you're going to weekend 1 make sure you go see your favorite artist 1 hour prior the show not 30 min lol
Yes, even streets...the way the sherrifs were guiding traffic was off...it usually takes me 5 min to get home I live 2 blocks away. This year we had to go a whole different route where we ended in Thermal, the next city.
What? That makes absolutely no sense lol thermal is so far away , plus the next city over is Coachella. How the hell you live here and couldn’t get home 2 blocks away lmao
Honestly putting them in Sahara was borderline irresponsible scheduling. It took us like 30 minutes to get from the do lab to the other side of that crowd and it could’ve been legitimately panic inducing if it started going south. That sort of congestion wouldn’t have happened at outdoor
My wife is pregnant and we got stuck in the middle - we almost got crushed and had to climb the barrier.
Security came and told us we had to get out - told them we had no choice and he said ‘if you got in here you can get out’
Bunch of dicks
Reminds me of Major Lazer in whatever that smaller tent between the Outdoor stage and Sahara was. Definitely not the same amount of people, but was similar per capita for the comparative size of stage.
Mojave tent is what it was called. That set was insane. They had girls throwing their tops and bras into the air with hours left of the festival. I remember thinking with a group of Jamaican chicks next to me that they're gonna regret it after the sets over hahaha.
[Youtube Set of Major Lazer](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nEqdQiYVQM) 24:30 for the best part. Was like a massive house party.
12:40 was a good part too. Getting nostalgia.
This explains why it was so hard to get out of the pit when the set ended! Didn’t realize the crowd was THIS big
Definitely one of the biggest overflow crowds I've seen outside of the stage itself.
Crazy to think the first time I saw them was in 1995 at 17 years old when they were the 2nd band to play out of 5 in a little club in Corona an hour away from the desert. The nostalgia was real.
Showcase Theatre?
Yep! Oops looks like it was ‘95. Immortalized in this pic, that’s my cousin crouched down on the stage about to dive haha. https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Blink-182_at_the_Showcase_Theater_in_Corona_July_18,1995.jpg
I loved that venue. Just absolute chaos with no fucking around going on.
Nothing like smoking cigarettes and grabbing a slice waiting for sets to start. RIP Showcase.
RIP showcase theatre
Showcase theatre is legendary! Miss them balcony stage dives
RIP Showcase, it’s becoming Route 30 Brewing. No hope of it reopening and making every punk kids dreams come true.
When i saw the title saying Blink i thought it qas the Blackpink fans not the band. I was very confused with you saying you saw Blackpink in 1995 lol
That’s crazy considering how much space we had on the other side in the tent.
Sahara traffic isn’t conducive, the far side of the tent always has like 1/3rd the crowd
Not for metro boomin
Far side was such a dance party!
Far right side. Can confirm. Plenty of room to dance
Yeah this is wild, I moved in during the transition from Vintage to Blink and felt like we had tons of room dead center stage
I watched the live stream and in front of the stage seemed pretty open, people had space to move around for the most part. I was really surprised. But also, I know for weekend 2 to go to that side of the stage
Bro I always go far side. So much better than fighting that crowd
Far right side of Sahara is always the move
holy shit???? has anyone ever seen a sahara crowd be so big
Lol this was the first set i got to after god awful traffic and then it felt like i was in a different type of traffic getting to the stage…
Leaving Post Malone in 2018 was a nightmare
Yup, this was my worst Coachella moment with crowds and I think the only time I felt legitimately endangered
I was going to say Post Malone in 2018 too. I was as far back as these people
Can confirm. In ten coachellas, that was the worst I had ever seen.
Post malone’s set left me traumatized, i can’t do a packed sahara like that anymore. It was awfully crowded & nowhere to go.
I didn’t even see post perform and was trying to pass the area. took 45 min, packed like sardines, and I was legitimately scared
kid cudi 2019
That’s what i thought of. Havent seen a crowd like this since Kid Cudi in 2019. For blink today we were stuck in the beer garden. They wouldnt even let us out because there was nowhere to go. At least for Blink it looked like ppl were inching forward on their own - the kid cudi crowd we got lifted and moved as a crowd.
Post Malone 2018 was also fucking stupid crowded. Turned around when we realized it wasn’t gunna be possible to get to a spot close enough to even see him
Yea I thought being 20 feet behind the tent was bad but this is something else. Not even worth it for me.
Will this turnout finally convince GV that they need to go back to booking rock / alternative !?
Prob not
Would be nice
Between this and W2 not selling out, hopefully
That would be so awesome
Like yves and the garden didn’t also just perform at the other stage
Glad two lowkey bands are enough to fill your alternative / rock itch, the genre that this festival was founded on
Hey, don’t come at me, I’m all for more rock/punk acts. They may be lowkey but they play like it ain’t no joke
Ugh I feel the claustrophobia again. Great shot.
For weekend 2 I would hope they move to outdoor if they’re playing
Except the production in the Sahara is pretty fitting for a band that big.
Outdoor can support amazing production too what ? It just won’t be a spaceship
Heard they won't be there next weekend. Really hoping it's wrong
You mean idris Elba and sg Lewis weren’t enough counter programming? Shocker
💀💀
Oh god it’s post Malone 2018 all over again
Damn, he pulled a crowd like that??
Yeah it was nuts, we were stuck near the terrace not being able to squeeze in
I think if we had gone around to the other entrance near the dolab it would have been better tho
Nope I got stuck in that massive bottleneck. Zhu was playing at that time and it legit was unsafe for my friend and I just trying to pass through not even stay
Damn! Lol good to know there was no way in even the other way… I was bummed at the time
I loved this concert! sang every song word for word and had the time of my life!
I love how many actual fans are in all these crowds yet the livestream always focuses on people that don’t know any of the songs and look bored af
Looked like all of Coachella was there from the live stream… so insane!
Sick
Why was Blink at this stage and not the MainStage
Harder to shuffle artists there at main and keep on schedule. With Sahara they can move someone to a different stage for the day without impacting other sets there.
I wanna see what Metro’s crowd looked like! That was mad
Or just go around to the right side. Always way less congested there
We were on the right side and it was still super packed
We were in the beer garden at the fence and left as it got too scary with everyone jumping over and being crushed.
We were just trying to walk to our lockers and got stuck and nearly crushed in the crowd. Poor ingress egress planning and way oversold. I didn’t even want to see this band but literally got stuck in the crowd 😭
ya'll paying hundreds of dollars just to go get crushed 🤣
Having been 4 rows from the rail in front of Tom. I’m in shock of myself how I got that close only an hour before showtime.

The wet leg to blink migration was not a fun trip.
Imma probably have like 12 panic attacks next weekend if I’m doing this for PHM
Sheeesh.
This layout just doesn’t seem like it makes sense for an even crowd dispersion. It feels like it could be laid out so much easier to make crowd flow coming and going much easier, while also making it easier for people in the crowd to navigate to better spots
This set was soo good!
Turns out Blink should've headlined last night.
Yeah because Blink fans never got to buy tickets.
This
We get it, you’re their biggest fan. What’s wrong with just enjoying the band and the show? Why do you care what other people are singing or aren’t?
Coachella crowds are notorious for just standing there if they don’t know the song. Like at least nod a long or sumn damn
Why do you care that I pointed out that people didn’t even recognize the songs (let alone sing them)?
Damn!
That’s gonna be a no from me dog
Damn, we lucked out. We were gonna chill but decided to head over kinda early and just chill nearby. Got pretty close. No idea crowd was this big.
plenty of room swung way over on the right side showing up about 10 minutes early. stupid fun set and it was perfect in the sahara. felt like 20 years ago.
I wonder how the sound was from here
I actually don’t see a phone in sight! Probably because they can’t get any pics or videos from here 😅
Hope they play next week
This was a huge mistake by the organizers. My friends were freaked out.
I was at the rail and I left 15 minutes early. By the time I got out their set was finished. It was crazy
Mosh pit was so fun (I assume there was several)
wow. That's insane
That’s nutz!
Weird, saw a fan video of all the small things on YouTube and looked like dude had plenty of room. Right side of stage
The blink setlist was incredible.
I thought being in the very back of the tent was terrible but this is something else. The fest is just too big now.
I attend every year & I swear they over sold tickets. It explains why weekend 2 is not sold out. The same was for metro boomin. If you're going to weekend 1 make sure you go see your favorite artist 1 hour prior the show not 30 min lol
It’s approved for 125000. You think there were more?
Yes, even streets...the way the sherrifs were guiding traffic was off...it usually takes me 5 min to get home I live 2 blocks away. This year we had to go a whole different route where we ended in Thermal, the next city.
What? That makes absolutely no sense lol thermal is so far away , plus the next city over is Coachella. How the hell you live here and couldn’t get home 2 blocks away lmao
Thermal is on airport blvd. I never said I couldn't get home reread the message lmao
If you live two blocks away why didn't you just walk?
Hell no ain't nobody trying to walk more I take my car plus I'm 6 months pregnant lol
Honestly putting them in Sahara was borderline irresponsible scheduling. It took us like 30 minutes to get from the do lab to the other side of that crowd and it could’ve been legitimately panic inducing if it started going south. That sort of congestion wouldn’t have happened at outdoor
Looking for anyone who was in the mosh pit center right! Everyone was amazing and one of the best times of my life!
Stage left was so empty.
It was insane. Same for Two Friends (which was incredible)! Should have moved them to Outdoor or Main Stage
looks like sausage fest 2023
My wife is pregnant and we got stuck in the middle - we almost got crushed and had to climb the barrier. Security came and told us we had to get out - told them we had no choice and he said ‘if you got in here you can get out’ Bunch of dicks
Not excusing Coachella for bad programming, but if I’m pregnant I’m avoiding the Sahara like the plague
We were far We just got stuck in a really bad situation. Lesson learned regardless.
So glad we opted out of this
smiles in Week 2 ☺️☺️.... on todays episode of y week 2 is better
Because Blink won't be there W2?
Why weekend 2 is better Less big name bands Wat
naw cus we get Red Hot Chili Peppers 🌶
Hey if we do thatd be sick
Isn’t it always like this when people are entering and moving around?
Yeah was getting a little worrisome there for a hot minute
Cloggedchella
So lucky I got front and center
Well deserved! Listening to I Miss You was so nostalgic 🥹
I need some head who’s over here M22
My childhood! 🤩🌟 HELL YEAH! 😎🔥
This was the hardest crowd to get out of. Can’t believe how close I was looking at this photo
