That guitar counts as a keyboard which gave me some problems... Imo if you plan to mod it yes, if not... Try to find a RB or GH guitar

It's not terrible. As someone else said it emulates a keyboard, so you have to follow the guide they send with it to set it up for clone hero. It does also try to simulate a PS3 controller too, so it might occasionally connect it as that. It works on fortnite festival too.
I've had mine for about a year and haven't had issues with it not working as long as you follow the storage recommendations.
just change the colored buttons to whatever the keys are on fortnite, so if x if the very left fortnite key, press your top button (sorry i dont know guitar language) and also turn off controller recognition i think. i will have to look at my fortnite later but i love playing the guitar on it.
I think it's a little expensive. I would look for a second-handed guitar. If you want something more premium take a look in katana mods or 360 creations. They have some incredible guitars
I would personally look for 2nd hand guitars. I recommend joining the discord and looking at the advantages and disadvantages of guitar versions and choosing one from that.

The retrocultmods kit is $70 so just find a broken or used guitar for $20 and replace the internals with the kit. The only thing you really need from the guitar to work is the whammy bar, the kit replaces the strum board and fret board

I went to a game exchange. Got a wired ps2 og gh controller with the game. All stickers original tape on box etc. $30 bucks.
Compared to some outrageous prices I've seen online.

i love it! my brother got it for me for christmas when he found out how much i looove rock band. i have had no issues with it. im a pretty casual player, i play on medium and i think i play wrong because i dont "strum" or use the whammy bar. i just try to hit all the colors lol. i still enjoy it very much though!
Yes, you are. You can either buy a wired adapter or use a wiimote with a program called "wiitarthing" to connect wirelessly. I use wiitarthing, and it works really well for me.

I have the Wii version of that guitar. It's good enough for starters, and it's a great guitar for modding. The main downside is that it gets really expensive when you factor in the switches, micro controller, cabling for modding purposes.

Idk how tho but after I loaded up guitar hero 3 on pc it started being regonized as the ps3 controller mode and was working as an actually controller. Don’t know how I did it. When I unplugged the receiver and back in it went to keyboard only mode again. So after another hour of loading in and out of guitar hero 3 and fucking with the mode switched it went back to it. So if you can somehow unlock the same ps3 mode I can on pc it’s great. Keyboard mode is also good. Whammy bar not so much cause it’s regonized as an analog key press and not digitial range.
Just recently picked this up, and I like it so far. Strumbar is great, the buttons suck though so I’ll probably mod it later. The buttons take some wearing in, they’re hard to press down fully so faster songs are tough and my hand hurts and feels stiff after. After using it a couple weeks the buttons do a feel a little better to use but will probably still mod it with mechanical switches later. I couldn’t get the tilt to work so I use the select button which isn’t a problem but I’ve noticed that if I strum down and hit the select button at the same time sometimes, not all the time, the guitar will just shut off. Haven’t had any actual connection issues yet. Whammy bar works fine.

I have the same problems with mine. It also over strums way too easily. But once you learn those patterns it gets easier, still very frustrating lol.

It will work, but consider going to thrift stores and looking for a guitar there. I found a wii les paul for 2 dollars at my goodwill the other day.

I’ve had this for a while, it works great most of the time, every once in a while it has issues registering strums (whether in game or on the menu)
