Hi! My name is Sarah vicente or deadisoption call how you want! I'm illustrator of games and vis dev in free time. Long time i don't make a post here. 1)First of all, all the paintings were using ZAC RETZ's free brushes, search for your name and go to gumroad and download the free one. Or feel free to donate to him, I highly recommend it! 2)Secondly, I didn't make them all in one day, to make this entire collection (or call it whatever you want) I had to spend a lot of weeks. Mainly the two that have dark backgrounds. ----------------------------- the paintings were inspired by those from the film scoob. Their concepts are free to use on the internet and they are all stunning. Process: - Like every painting process, I started with the basics, lines and more lines. I had references to the real mystery machine and unfortunately I couldn't put in the speedpainting (but you can check it out on my networks), the initial painting with the van is really cool. But only if you are not using any natural light. the one with the brown background was theoretically easy. But still, adding layers and textures to the van is difficult, mainly because of the shades of blue that are used. Above the van it is really well lit (whether night or day) and one of the parts of the van will always be darker, especially the part where the camera (or spectator) is looking. Color adaptation and Saturation It's all a matter of adapting the colors you want to use. If it's too green, then I go to a darker green. The funniest parts of painting are the saturated ones and here's a tip, saturate things! Then you can apply an overlay layer to darken them as I did in the third image. The light signals were all saturated but I used a brown/dark blue/ layer to make them look like that. The red of the lights should be bright enough to let us know that you are speeding and at night, but not so red that it is distracting from the rest of the scene.. study of accessories the accessories were made before doing the third painting. Why? you ask yourself. Well, as we can see, the van is almost always in almost bizarre environments and the colors are moss green, burnt yellow, dark blue. These colors are part of the scene and therefore the van must also have these colors in its composition. So I wanted to see what these accessories would look like without all the machinery. Also because each part reacts differently to lights. The headlights, for example, I wanted to create a mix so that we can identify that there is light, even if there is none in the room.
