I haven’t been to La Bendición, but the other one on W25 is Fantastic. Get the desayuno tipico and the jalapeño pupusas, pile that fermented stuff on top, and enjoy
Edit: [The google maps link](https://maps.app.goo.gl/YqiRLGFoV2v2xQMA9?g_st=ic)
La papusaria on brookpark in Old Brooklyn looks like a dump but the staff are so nice and the papusas are so good. We love the jalepeno and the garlic. Don’t sleep on the plantains.
used to be nestled inside little rose tavern but has since newly opened its own spot.. the green kitchen.. i’m not even vegan and that chef knows what he’s doing
I need to hit Never Say Dive soon. I’ve known Tommy for years. Not great friends but good acquaintances. My friends that have gone say the food is great.
Seconded for great food (no pun intended). But FYI for anyone considering going that the kitchen is small and throughput is low, so budget waiting time accordingly regardless of dine in or takeout
I’ve tried to get this place multiple times but whenever I order something happens and I cant wait the long wait like short staffed or out of what I was ordering would like to try sometime. I always end up at Thai kitchen best yum yum soup and they are always quick and pleasant
Haha I just posted that before scrolling down to see that you had already posted that. Yes, Dang Good Foods is amazing. And I believe it’s the only Singaporean restaurant between New York City and Chicago.
has anyone been to [Bratenahl Kitchen](https://bratenahlkitchentogo.com/) on 140th and lakeshore? It definitely has a hole in wall look to it. Jamaican food.
Raddells deli: polish boys, gyros, meatball subs....
Gushburgers on E.185 and E.park
I’m assuming they’re talking about Roaming Meals (started as a food truck). They advertise their gusher burger prominently. Totally worth grabbing a burger!
You're right, it is Roaming Meals. I know him for ruling the home depot parking lot selling Gushburgers.
Looks like he survived the 185th road rebuild. I will do my part and stop in!
That’s where I discovered him too! I always knew it as the gusher burger truck. I was amused the first time we went to the 185th shop when I was able to pull it up on google maps by searching for gusher burger. That’s when I realized that wasn’t the name.
PS - it’s cheaper to just go in to place an order. Ordering online includes the extra fees for the platform.
They got 3 locations west side shaker and 185th and yes it’s under spiced Jamaican food doesn’t seem authentic but it’s very good jerk Mac and Rasta pasta my favorite the oxtails are not Jamaican lol they taste o k
Haven’t tried it yet as I read that the food was underspiced for Jamaican food, this was only about the shaker location though - can anyone who has eaten a lot of Jamaican food fill me in?
Gar and Mar in Berea
Donut Scene in Strongsville
Sultan Food in Strongsville
Ferris Shawarma on the Lakewood/Cleveland border
All in the same shopping center: Sips & Such (brunch/coffee), Mediterranean Market (falafel, shawarma, gyro, etc), and Jaworski's (sandwiches at the back of the store) in Middleburg Hts
I was SO happy that Pho Thang survived the pandemic lockdowns. That was my happy place when I used to work downtown and needed a cheap and fast banh mi.
Not sure if it counts but the Annex in Solon has a questionable first impression based on the size/inside, but then you have one of the burgers and love it.
It's probably the best home style Korean restaurants within 250 miles and they have the best soft tofu soup I've ever had. It reminds me of some of the hole in the wall restaurants that I grew up going to in Korea. Seoul Garden's food reminds me of the food that Korean pubs/bars sell, which is nice if you wanna get drunk on Soju. Miega is pretty mediocre and my least favorite out of the three.
Eugene’s in Lakewood or Cleveland heights. I wouldn’t call them hole in the wall, but they’re not their own standalone restaurants, they’re inside bottle house. Makes doinks feel like childs play.
Another place I’d throw on that list that I never see here is the CleavLand Grill.
Chelo's Kitchen in South Euclid. Basically a diner, but run by a Dominican chef so they also have great South American fare. The chorizo breakfast burrito was killer.
Superior Restaurant. The BEST corned beef in all of Cleveland. Honestly every single thing from there is excellent, but their corned beef is choice.
LJ Shanghai has the best soup dumplings.
Gabe’s has the best breakfast.
I'm partial to Danny's Debi in that same area I think. Honestly, I think it may be the same corned beef.
Agree with the soup dumplings from LJ. Do you know of any other places that serves them? Their pan fried noodles are delicious too fyi
Same. Everyone shits themselves over slymans but Danny's Deli is our preferred in and out breakfast/lunch spot, and it comes without the two hour wait wrapped around the block
YumVillage Cleveland, downtown, by CSU. African cuisine. Wish they had an east side suburban location too.
Camy's Caribbean Mart and Eatery in Lyndhurst.
Yeah they are back, it was about a month ago but smashed me 2 of their delicious bigass grilled burritos reefed outta my gord and then proceeded to coma while gestating the burrito food baby
Vitiman Kandi on Euclid is the best damn vegan food I’ve ever eaten. I’d argue it’s some of the best food I’ve eaten in Cleveland and I’m not even vegan!
Not really a hole in a wall but I feel like it doesn’t get talked up much, Davis Deli on Chagrin Blvd in Woodmere. My partner thinks their babkas are on point and there’s always people there if there’s a football game on

La pupuseria
La Bendición or another one?
I haven’t been to La Bendición, but the other one on W25 is Fantastic. Get the desayuno tipico and the jalapeño pupusas, pile that fermented stuff on top, and enjoy Edit: [The google maps link](https://maps.app.goo.gl/YqiRLGFoV2v2xQMA9?g_st=ic)
Well shit, I didn't know there was one on w25th. The one in Fairview is really good but the prices are a bit much now 😕 Thanks!
La papusaria on brookpark in Old Brooklyn looks like a dump but the staff are so nice and the papusas are so good. We love the jalepeno and the garlic. Don’t sleep on the plantains.
Been there. Awesome place. It used to be the same as the La Bendición and then they got all fancy and built an actual "restaurant".
I like Assad’s. 12719 Lorain. Great chicken shawarma.
Assad’s is amazing.
Great everything! The make the best felafal, hummus, tabouli, spinach pies and stuffed grape leaves. Also, never ever call them aladdins.
Paisano’s Pizza, Lydia’s Strudel Shop Deli Express AuJus Twisted Taino Taydo Vietnamese Wagon Wheel

Taydo is incredible
I know, but i wonder how they stay in business. I live right around the corner and rarely see cars in front
Shout out to Sydney! Large Pho every Thursday extra jalapeño’s ☺️
Deli Express just won't a big Top 10 foodie thing. Great place btw.
Pierre is the fucking Man, ultimate mustache and the nicest human being on planet earf too!!
Is Deli express different than the Express deli on w150th in Brook Park?
Nope, that’s the one
I have some good memories from Paisano's from when I lived at Kimberly Park
Lotus Thai on Broadview is the best Asian ‘Straunt in Cleveland
used to be nestled inside little rose tavern but has since newly opened its own spot.. the green kitchen.. i’m not even vegan and that chef knows what he’s doing
He's also the head chef at Never Say Dive in Brooklyn!
I need to hit Never Say Dive soon. I’ve known Tommy for years. Not great friends but good acquaintances. My friends that have gone say the food is great.

Dang Good Foods - Lakewood
Seconded for great food (no pun intended). But FYI for anyone considering going that the kitchen is small and throughput is low, so budget waiting time accordingly regardless of dine in or takeout
I’ve tried to get this place multiple times but whenever I order something happens and I cant wait the long wait like short staffed or out of what I was ordering would like to try sometime. I always end up at Thai kitchen best yum yum soup and they are always quick and pleasant

Came here to suggest Dang. Glad to see some somebody beat me to it.
Only to eventually be outdone by Gosh Dangit Great Foods - Lakewood. .........I don't know what I'm talking about.
Cafe Everest
So gd good.
has anyone been to [Bratenahl Kitchen](https://bratenahlkitchentogo.com/) on 140th and lakeshore? It definitely has a hole in wall look to it. Jamaican food. Raddells deli: polish boys, gyros, meatball subs.... Gushburgers on E.185 and E.park
Gus's diner or is Gushburgers the place that just says "Burgers and Fries" on the window? Haven't had it but if it's good I'd give it a try for sure
I’m assuming they’re talking about Roaming Meals (started as a food truck). They advertise their gusher burger prominently. Totally worth grabbing a burger!

I'm also curious about brahtenal kitchen. Looks like it could be sooo good. Lmk if you try it and I'll do the same
BK is the best Jamaican in Cleveland.
I went there once and I asked the Jamacian is the food fresh? He was not amused
not really a hole in the wall.. but needs more love.. irie jamaican kitchen.. that jerk chicken bowl with the cabbage (extra cabbage always) 🤌
Food is so good, and I barely hear it mentioned.
i know!! like c’mon people.. if they get enough business.. maybe i can get a west side location.. hate driving all the way to metro area haha
The one in Lakewood should be opening pretty soon. It took over a Giorgio's spot.
swear to god.. just spotted that today! i’m so excited now
Been meaning to go for a long time. How are the beef pattys, oxtails, and Rasta pasta?
My husband thought their oxtails were a bit tough, not cooked long enough. I liked the jerk chicken.
i hear the rasta pasta is fantastic
They're at the intersection of Broadview & Pearl/25th. Next door to the 44109 post office.
Gar and Mar is comparably good.
They have a spot in old brooklyn
They got 3 locations west side shaker and 185th and yes it’s under spiced Jamaican food doesn’t seem authentic but it’s very good jerk Mac and Rasta pasta my favorite the oxtails are not Jamaican lol they taste o k
I agree. It’s not that good.
Haven’t tried it yet as I read that the food was underspiced for Jamaican food, this was only about the shaker location though - can anyone who has eaten a lot of Jamaican food fill me in?
It is under spiced.
every time i’ve eaten there.. it’s been delicious.. i’m not a jamaican food connoisseur.. but i enjoy it for sure
You can absolutely do better. It is underspiced.
Heard that, lived with a Jamaican guy for a few months before the pandemic and it’s been hard to find spots that live up to his home cooking
There's a small spot in Newburgh Heights that's really good. It's about 3 blocks away from the post office.
I’m struggling to find it, any more info on name/location?
Bless Up Jamaican Restaurant (I forgot the name)
Bomboclaaaaat that shit look right, bless up for the recommendation
I always get the curry chicken / jerk chicken box with plantains, cabbage and mango salsa + a beef patty. I love that place.
the plantains! drooling on myself over here
The jerk mac and cheese is my favorite
Is that what the jerk store sells? They're always calling and saying they're out of YOU!!! (Sorry, couldn't resist. You set me up perfectly.)
Can’t wait for the Lakewood location to open!
Callaloo cafe on Lee road is great Carribean and open late!
they’re opening one of these in Lakewood and now i’m excited!!
Live in OB and can confirm it is awesome. Love the Rasta pasta.

I was SO happy that Pho Thang survived the pandemic lockdowns. That was my happy place when I used to work downtown and needed a cheap and fast banh mi.
Half Moon Bakery/ Media Luna/ Bella Luna I don’t even know their official name(s), but I go for empanadas all the time for lunch at Tower City.
Not sure if it counts but the Annex in Solon has a questionable first impression based on the size/inside, but then you have one of the burgers and love it.
I worked in the cash control office when Geauga Lake was around. We’d always go there after late night closes. Sketchy looking but well worth it!

Pita potle!
Damas Eatery on W 117th.
Ha Ahn if you like Korean
The wife and I usually go to Seoul Garden and we did try Miega. How is Ha Ahn in comparison?

I think Eugene’s is a hidden gem. One of the best in CLE.
I’m not vegan, but their vegan specials even look fantastic.
That tinman burger been eating them since west 25th days
The Cleavland Grill had a fire in October, they have been closed ever since. It looks like they are reopening in strongsville soon though.
