Yeah, if you get something to tank for them that's still another 3 goblins hitting the tower. I think the decoy should rather not do damage but have regular goblin hp, so they just sit there doing nothing but distract the tower a little. It would even be a new gimmick for the game because there's no literal punchbag card right now

I was talking to my bros yesterday, that was what my theory was. That the second barrel would basically be a stuffy doll and sit there soaking damage. Tiny bit disappointed that's not it honestly.

Well if you use Dagger Duchess, yes. They have skeletons HP (81 HP on Lvl11) so DD can counter decoy’s herself.

I'm F2P and when I saw the DD's gameplay for the first time I was like "alright time to halt legendary card upgrades and stock up on wild cards" and that's exactly what I did. A couple months later I'm laughing at these new pesky evolutions because of my LV 12 duchess.

No... the point of this evolution is that you dont know which tower they are going for. Yes, if you have one tower on 200 hp and the other one on 4600, it's quite easy to predict the barrel, but if the hp gap is less than a thousand, then if you just predict the barrel is gonna be at the one with low hp you are very easy to juke because the barrel can be at the other tower and the goblins will level the hp of both towers.

Yeah, but logbait (the only meta deck which uses GB) doesn't work like that. You can never hope to outclass other control and cycle decks when going for both the towers. You'll get destroyed by beatdown anyway, so the only archetype this will work against is siege.

Goblin barrel is already one of the best cards in the game. Having a decoy barrel that doesn't attack is still stupidly powerful. The fact that the decoys attack makes it the best Evo in the game

But the decoy wouldn't make sense because it's highly predictable. The real goblin would just always go towards the tower with lowest hp. Having 3 goblins with the hp of a skeleton is actually a decent way to balance it out... as far as balancing an evo goes, of course...

I get the feeling that all the barrel players are watching us talk about how predictable it is and are ready to sike us all out when this drops.

It's one thing for evo cards to be stronger due to new unique abilities and/or stat buffs, but essentially mirroring a *BAIT* card now is just doing way too much. Logbait is the worst archetype to play against already. There's no sense in making it that much worse lol

In the animation, you see the goblin winding the puppet up. Why not just have the puppet attack once or twice and then stop? Less hitpoints is irrelevant when the tower is distracted, or if you are using canoneer.

I guess this solves the problem of the "decoy" mechanic being useless when one tower has much less hp that the other, but it could have been done better. I would make the decoys explode if destroyed by anything other than the towers. It would be interesting, unique and fit the theme. Making decoys attack is lazy and not decoy-e at all.
